ਦਾਊਦ ਹਬਰੋਨ ਤੋਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਹੋਰ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਦਾਸੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵੱਧ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੋਰ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਔਲਾਦ ਵੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈ। ਇਉਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਹੋਇਆ।

ਦਾਊਦ ਹਬਰੋਨ ਤੋਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਹੋਰ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਦਾਸੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵੱਧ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੋਰ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਔਲਾਦ ਵੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈ। ਇਉਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਹੋਇਆ।
