17 ਯਹੋਆਸ਼ ਦਾ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਉਣਾ ਅਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਨੇ ਗਥ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਲੜਾਈ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ। ਉਸਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸੋਚੀ।
18 ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਟ, ਯਹੋਰਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਅਹਜ਼ਯਾਹ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਯੋਆਸ਼ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਖੇ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਕਿ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਸਨ। ਯਹੋਆਸ਼ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਜਿੰਨਾ ਸੋਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਹਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਇੱਕਤ੍ਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਤਾਂ ਇੰਝ ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
17 Then Hazael king of Syria went up, and fought against Gath, and took it: and Hazael set his face to go up to Jerusalem.
18 And Jehoash king of Judah took all the hallowed things that Jehoshaphat, and Jehoram, and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own hallowed things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of the house of the Lord, and in the king’s house, and sent it to Hazael king of Syria: and he went away from Jerusalem.

18 ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਟ, ਯਹੋਰਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਅਹਜ਼ਯਾਹ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਯੋਆਸ਼ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਖੇ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਕਿ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਸਨ। ਯਹੋਆਸ਼ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਜਿੰਨਾ ਸੋਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਹਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਇੱਕਤ੍ਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਤਾਂ ਇੰਝ ਹਜ਼ਾਏਲ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
