16 ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਅਮਾਲੇਕੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾਉਣਾ ਉਹ ਮਿਸਰ ਦਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਅਮਾਲੇਕੀਆਂ ਤੱਕ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ। ਉਹ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੈਠਕੇ ਖਾ-ਪੀ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੌਜ ਮਸਤੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੁੱਟਕੇ ਲਿਆਏ ਸਨ, ਉਸਦਾ ਜਸ਼ਨ ਮਨਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
17 ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਜਾਕੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ। ਉਹ ਸਵੇਰ ਦੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਚੜ੍ਹਨ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਤੱਕ ਲੜਦੇ ਰਹੇ। ਇੱਕ ਵੀ ਅਮਾਲੇਕੀ ਬਚ ਨਾ ਸੱਕਿਆ ਸਿਰਫ਼ 400 ਜੁਆਨ ਊਠਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਭੱਜ ਨਿਕਲੇ।
18 ਤਦ ਦਾਊਦ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਅਮਾਲੇਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਲੁੱਟਕੇ ਲਿਆਏ ਸਨ ਸਮੇਤ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਦੋਨੋਂ ਬੀਵੀਆਂ ਦੇ।
19 ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਨ ਨਾ ਗੁਆਚਿਆ ਨਾ ਘਟਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚੇ-ਬੁੱਢੇ, ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਧੀਆਂ ਲੱਭ ਲਏ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਅਮਾਲੇਕੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਲੁੱਟਿਆ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਸਭ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈ ਆਏ। ਦਾਊਦ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ।
20 ਦਾਊਦ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਸ਼ੂ ਵੀ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ। ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੱਗੇ-ਅੱਗੇ ਜਾਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਹ ਸਭ ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਇਨਾਮ ਹੈ।”
16 And when he had brought him down, behold, they were spread abroad upon all the earth, eating and drinking, and dancing, because of all the great spoil that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah.
17 And David smote them from the twilight even unto the evening of the next day: and there escaped not a man of them, save four hundred young men, which rode upon camels, and fled.
18 And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives.
19 And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor any thing that they had taken to them: David recovered all.
20 And David took all the flocks and the herds, which they drave before those other cattle, and said, This is David’s spoil.

19 ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਨ ਨਾ ਗੁਆਚਿਆ ਨਾ ਘਟਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚੇ-ਬੁੱਢੇ, ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਧੀਆਂ ਲੱਭ ਲਏ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਅਮਾਲੇਕੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਲੁੱਟਿਆ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਸਭ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈ ਆਏ। ਦਾਊਦ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ।

20 ਦਾਊਦ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਸ਼ੂ ਵੀ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ। ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੱਗੇ-ਅੱਗੇ ਜਾਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਹ ਸਭ ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਇਨਾਮ ਹੈ।”
And David took all the flocks and the herds, which they drave before those other cattle, and said, This is David’s spoil.
