ਬਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ, ਅਈ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਿਆ। ਰਾਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਨ ਲਈ ਕਾਹਲੀ ਨਾਲ ਬਾਹਰ ਆਏ। ਅਈ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਯਰਦਨ ਵਾਦੀ ਵੱਲ ਗਿਆ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਛੁੱਪੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ।
