John 8 - KJV (Punjabi)

1 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.ਯਿਸੂ ਜੈਤੂਨ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਵੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਰ ਪਿਆ।

2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.ਸਵੇਰ-ਸਾਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਮੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ। ਯਿਸੂ ਉੱਥੇ ਬੈਠਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰਕ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀ ਉੱਥੇ ਇੱਕ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਲੈ ਆਏ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਬਦਕਾਰੀ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਫ਼ੜੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਮਜਬੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ।

4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਗੁਰੂ! ਇਹ ਔਰਤ ਉਦੋਂ ਫ਼ੜੀ ਗਈ ਜਦੋਂ ਇਹ ਬਦਕਾਰੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ?

5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਵਿੱਚ, ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਥਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੋ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ?”

6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.ਯਹੂਦੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚਲਾਕੀ ਨਾਲ ਫ਼ਸਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਸਵਾਲ ਪੁੱਛ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕੁਝ ਗਲਤ ਆਖੇ। ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਕੋਈ ਦੋਸ਼ ਮੜ੍ਹਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਥੱਲੇ ਝੁਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਉਂਗਲ ਨਾਲ ਕੁਝ ਲਿਖਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ।

7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਵਾਲ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਇੱਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਸ ਉੱਪਰ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਪੱਥਰ ਮਾਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ।”

8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਥੱਲੇ ਝੁਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਾਤਲ ਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਲਿਖਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ।

9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.ਜੋ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ-ਇੱਕ ਕਰਕੇ ਵਿਦਾ ਹੋਣ ਲੱਗੇ। ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਲੋਕ ਗਏ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਵੀ ਵਿਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਏ। ਯਿਸੂ ਇੱਕਲਾ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਬੱਚਿਆ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਖੜ੍ਹੀ ਸੀ।

10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗਾ, “ਹੇ ਔਰਤ, ਉਹ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹਨ? ਕੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਕਰਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ?”

11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਨਹੀਂ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਾਨ ਜੀ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਕਰਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ।” ਫਿਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਹੁਣ ਤੂੰ ਜਾ ਸੱਕਦੀ ਹੈਂ ਪਰ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਰ ਪਾਪ ਨਾ ਕਰੀਂ।”

12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.ਯਿਸੂ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਹੈ ਬਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਮੁੜ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਹਾਂ। ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੋ ਮੇਰਾ ਅਨੁਸਰਣ ਕਰਦਾ, ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਹਨੇਰਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੀਵੇਗਾ ਸਗੋਂ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।”

13 The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.ਪਰ ਫਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਬਾਰੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਤਾ ਸਿਰਫ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ, ਜੋ ਇਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸੱਚ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਬੂਲ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਆਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ।”

14 Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਹਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਬਾਰੇ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਸੱਚ ਨੇ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕਿੱਥੋਂ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਜਾਵਾਂਗਾ। ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕਿੱਥੋਂ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਜਾਵਾਂਗਾ।

15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲੋਕ ਮਾਨਵੀ ਦਰਜੇ ਦੇ ਆਧਾਰ ਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ, ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।

16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.ਪਰ ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਇੱਕਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ, ਪਿਤਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ।

17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਇਹ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਦੋ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਜਾਇਜ਼ ਹੈ।

18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਤਾ, ਜਿਸਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ, ਵੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।”

19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਤੇਰਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹੈ?” ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ। ਪਰ ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਜਾਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ।”

20 These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਉਦੋਂ ਆਖੀਆਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਵੇ ਦੀ ਪੇਟੀ ਕੋਲ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਰਫਤਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਅਜੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ ਵੇਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਆਇਆ।

21 Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.ਯਹੂਦੀ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਫੇਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੱਭੋਂਗੇ, ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੋਂਗੇ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਆ ਸੱਕਦੇ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮੈਂ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ।”

22 Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come.ਫੇਰ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਆਗੂ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੋਲੇ, “ਕੀ ਯਿਸੂ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਲਵੇਗਾ? ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ‘ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਆ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮੈਂ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ। ਉੱਥੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਸੱਕਦੇ।’”

23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਥੱਲਿਉਂ ਹੋ ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਉੱਪਰੋਂ ਹਾਂ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ।

24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਸੰਗ ਮਰੋਂਗੇ। ਹਾਂ, ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੋਂਗ਼ੇ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਹਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੋਂਗੇ।”

25 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning.ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੂੰ ਕੌਣ ਹੈਂ?” ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਉਹੀ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮੁਢੋਂ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ।

26 I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਬੋਲਣ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ, ਸੱਚ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਸੁਣੀਆਂ ਹਨ।”

27 They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.ਲੋਕ ਉਹ ਨਾ ਸਮਝ ਸੱਕੇ ਕਿ ਯਿਸੂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।

28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚਾ ਚੁੱਕੋਂਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਣ ਜਾਵੋਂਗ਼ੇ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਹਾਂ। ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਣ ਜਾਵੋਂਗੇ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਣ ਜਾਵੋਂਗੇ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਹੀ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖਾਇਆ ਹੈ।

29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.ਉਹ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਉਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਪਸੰਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇੱਕਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡਿਆ।”

30 As he spake these words, many believed on him.ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਤਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ।

31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਪਾਪ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਹਚਾ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਸਨ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨੋਂਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਅਸਲੀ ਚੇਲੇ ਹੋ।

32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.ਤਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੱਚ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਜਾਵੋਂਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹੀ ਸੱਚ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।”

33 They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦੀ ਅੰਸ਼ ਹਾਂ। ਅਸੀਂ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹੇ ਫਿਰ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਹਿੰਨਾ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਵਾਂਗੇ?”

34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਹਰੇਕ ਉਹ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ, ਉਹ ਪਾਪ ਦਾ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਹੈ।

35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.ਇੱਕ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਪਰ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੋਂਗੇ।

37 I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.ਮੈਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦੀ ਅੰਸ਼ ਹੋ। ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲਣ ਲਈ ਰਾਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ।

38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਆਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ।”

39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਸਾਡਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਹੈ।” ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਸੱਚ ਮੁੱਚ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦੀ ਅੰਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦੇ, ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹੀ ਕਰਨੀਆਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਜੋ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ।

40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਦੱਸਿਆ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ, ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ। ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਤਾਂ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕੀਤਾ

41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਵੇਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।” ਪਰ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੌਣ ਸੀ? ਸਾਡਾ ਇੱਕ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ।”

42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਇੱਥੇ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਖੁਦ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਇਆ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ।

43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਕਹਿ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ? ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਨਣ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ।

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਅੰਸ਼ ਹੋ ਤੇ ਸਿਰਫ ਉਹੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਸੰਦ ਹੈ। ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਹਤਿਆਰਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸੱਚ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਸੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ। ਜਦ ਉਹ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਸਲੀ ਸਵਰੂਪ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਾਂ! ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਝੂਠਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਝੂਠ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੈ।

45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.“ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਦੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ, ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ।

46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?ਕੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਸਾਬਤ ਕਰ ਸੱਕੇ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਪਾਪ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਹਾਂ? ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਸੱਚ ਦੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ?

47 He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.ਇੱਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਹੈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੁਨਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ।”

48 Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?ਯਿਸੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਠੀਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਮਰੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਇੱਕ ਭੂਤ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।”

49 Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਕੋਈ ਭੂਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਨਿਰਾਦਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ।

50 And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਮਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਹੁੰਦਾ। ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਣ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਮੁਨਸਫ ਹੈ।

51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਤੇ ਚੱਲੇਗਾ ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰੇਗਾ।”

52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹੁਣ ਅਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਇੱਕ ਭੂਤ ਹੈ। ਇੱਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਨਬੀ ਵੀ ਮਰ ਗਏ ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਕਹਿੰਨਾ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਰਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਉਹ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਪਾਵੇਗਾ। ‘ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰੇਗਾ।’

53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈਂ? ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਨਬੀ ਮਰ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਭਲਾ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈਂ?”

54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਦਾ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਕੀਮਤ ਨਹੀਂ। ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਕਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ।

55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.ਪਰ ਵਾਸਤਵ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਕਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਝੂਠਾ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ। ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਬੜਾ ਖੁਸ਼ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਆਉਣ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਵੇਖੇਗਾ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬੜਾ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਇਆ।”

57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?ਫਿਰ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ? ਤੂੰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਹਾਂ ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ।”

58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਹਾਂ।”

59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਿਆ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਤੇ ਸੁੱਟਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਚੁੱਕੇ। ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਲੁਕ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਚੱਲਾ ਗਿਆ।
