John 5 - DBY (Punjabi)

1 After these things was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਾ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਇਸਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਲਈ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਗਿਆ।

2 Now there is in Jerusalem, at the sheepgate, a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches.ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਤਲਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਦੇ ਪੰਜ ਬਰਾਂਡੇ ਢੱਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਤਲਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਬਰਾਨੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੇਥਜਿੱਥੇਾ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਤਲਾ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਹੈ।

3 In these lay a multitude of sick, blind, lame, withered, [awaiting the moving of the water.ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਬਿਮਾਰ ਲੋਕ ਤਲਾ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਬਰਾਂਡਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੇਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ। ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਸਨ ਕੁਝ ਲੰਗੜ੍ਹੇ ਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਅਧਰੰਗੀ ਸਨ।

4 For an angel descended at a certain season in the pool and troubled the water. Whoever therefore first went in after the troubling of the water became well, whatever disease he laboured under.]ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਵੀ ਸੀ ਜੋ 38 ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਮਾਰ ਸੀ।

5 But there was a certain man there who had been suffering under his infirmity thirty and eight years.

6 Jesus seeing this [man] lying [there], and knowing that he was [in that state] now a great length of time, says to him, Wouldest thou become well?ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਥੇ ਲੇਟਿਆ ਦੇਖਿਆ। ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਪਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਲੰਮੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਮਾਰ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ?”

7 The infirm [man] answered him, Sir, I have not a man, in order, when the water has been troubled, to cast me into the pool; but while I am coming another descends before me.ਉਸ ਬਿਮਾਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਾਨ ਜੀ, ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੋ ਉਦੋਂ ਤਲਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਾਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਲਚਲ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਤਲਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਪਹੁੰਚਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਤਲਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।”

8 Jesus says to him, Arise, take up thy couch and walk.ਫਿਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਉੱਠ, ਆਪਣਾ ਬਿਸਤਰਾ ਚੁੱਕ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਰ।”

9 And immediately the man became well, and took up his couch and walked: and on that day was sabbath.ਉਹ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਹੀ ਰਾਜੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਿਸਤਰਾ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਚੱਲਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਜਦੋਂ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ, ਇਹ ਸਬਤ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਸੀ।

10 The Jews therefore said to the healed [man], It is sabbath, it is not permitted thee to take up thy couch.ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਰਾਜੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਅੱਜ ਸਬਤ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਬਿਸਤਰਾ ਚੁੱਕਣਾ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਹੈ।”

11 He answered them, He that made me well, *he* said to me, Take up thy couch and walk.ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਉਹ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ‘ਆਪਣਾ ਬਿਸਤਰਾ ਚੁੱਕ ਤੇ ਤੁਰ।’”

12 They asked him [therefore], Who is the man who said to thee, Take up thy couch and walk?ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਉਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਿਸਤਰਾ ਚੁੱਕ ਤੇ ਤੁਰ?”

13 But he that had been healed knew not who it was, for Jesus had slidden away, there being a crowd in the place.ਪਰ ਜੋ ਆਦਮੀ ਰਾਜੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਪਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕੌਣ ਸੀ। ਉੱਥੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਜਾ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਸੀ।

14 After these things Jesus finds him in the temple, and said to him, Behold, thou art become well: sin no more, that something worse do not happen to thee.ਬਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੇਖਿਆ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਖ਼ਿਆ, “ਵੇਖ ਹੁਣ ਤੂੰ ਰਾਜੀ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਨੇ ਬੰਦ ਕਰਦੇ, ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਭੈੜੀ ਗੱਲ ਵੀ ਵਾਪਰ ਸੱਕਦੀ ਹੈ।”

15 The man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.ਤਦ ਉਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਉੱਥੇ ਵਾਪਸ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਕੋਲ ਗਿਆ। ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਰਾਜੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਸੀ।

16 And for this the Jews persecuted Jesus [and sought to kill him], because he had done these things on sabbath.ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਸਬਤ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੇਣ ਲੱਗੇ।

17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto and I work.ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।”

18 For this therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he had not only violated the sabbath, but also said that God was his own Father, making himself equal with God.ਇਹ ਸੁਣਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਹੋਰ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ। ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਯਿਸੂ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਦਾ ਨੇਮ ਤੋੜ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਆਖਕੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਬਣਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ!”

19 Jesus therefore answered and said to them, Verily, verily, I say to you, The Son can do nothing of himself save whatever he sees the Father doing: for whatever things *he* does, these things also the Son does in like manner.ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ। ਪੁੱਤਰ ਉਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਰਿਦਆਂ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਪਿਤਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਉਹੀ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਵੀ ਕਰਦਾ।

20 For the Father loves the Son and shews him all things which he himself does; and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may wonder.ਪਰ ਪਿਤਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਵਿਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਕਰਦਾ। ਪਰ ਪਿਤਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਹਾਨ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵੀ ਵਿਖਾਵੇਗਾ। ਫਿਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਭ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਉਂਗੇ।

21 For even as the Father raises the dead and quickens [them], thus the Son also quickens whom he will:ਪਿਤਾ ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਵਾਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਉਂ ਹੀ, ਪੁੱਤਰ ਵੀ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ, ਜੀਵਨ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

22 for neither does the Father judge any one, but has given all judgment to the Son;“ਪਿਤਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

23 that all may honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He who honours not the Son, honours not the Father who has sent him.ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਕਿ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦਾ ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਆਦਮੀ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦਾ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਉਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਜਿਸਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ।

24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, that he that hears my word, and believes him that has sent me, has life eternal, and does not come into judgment, but is passed out of death into life.“ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਇੱਕ, ਜਿਸਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ, ਸਦੀਪਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਉਸਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਨਹੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਜਾਏਗਾ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਹੈ।

25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, that an hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and they that have heard shall live.ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਉਹ ਸਮਾਂ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਇੱਥੇ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਜੋ ਮਰ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਨਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਨਣਗੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਨ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ।

26 For even as the Father has life in himself, so he has given to the Son also to have life in himself,ਜਿਸ ਤਰਾਂ ਪਿਤਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸੀ ਤਰਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।

27 and has given him authority to execute judgment [also], because he is Son of man.ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ।

28 Wonder not at this, for an hour is coming in which all who are in the tombs shall hear his voice,“ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਬਾਰੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੋ। ਉਹ ਸਮਾਂ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਕਬਰਾਂ ਚ ਪਏ ਮੋਏ ਬੰਦੇ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਸੁਣਨਗੇ।

29 and shall go forth; those that have practised good, to resurrection of life, and those that have done evil, to resurrection of judgment.ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਕਬਰਾਂ ਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਆ ਜਾਣਾਗੇ, ਉਹ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਲੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ, ਜੀਅ ਉੱਠਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਦੰਡ ਦੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਜੀਅ ਉੱਠਣਗੇ।

30 I cannot do anything of myself; as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is righteous, because I do not seek my will, but the will of him that has sent me.“ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਅਧਾਰ ਤੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੇਰਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਠੀਕ ਹੈ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਸਗੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਸਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ।

31 If I bear witness concerning myself, my witness is not true.ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਵਾਦ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਣਾ “ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਾਖੀ ਦੇਵਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਾਖੀ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਕੀਮਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।

32 It is another who bears witness concerning me, and I know that the witness which he bears concerning me is true.ਪਰ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਾਖੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਸਦੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਾਖੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਹੈ।

33 Ye have sent unto John, and he has borne witness to the truth.“ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੱਚ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਾਖੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ।

34 But I do not receive witness from man, but I say this that *ye* might be saved.ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਸਾਖੀ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਭਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬਚਾਏ ਜਾ ਸੱਕੋਂ।

35 *He* was the burning and shining lamp, and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਇੱਕ ਦੀਵੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਬਲਿਆ ਤੇ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਚਾਨਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੁਝ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਚਾਨਣ ਦਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਲਿਆ।

36 But I have the witness [that is] greater than [that] of John; for the works which the Father has given me that I should complete them, the works themselves which I do, bear witness concerning me that the Father has sent me.“ਪਰ ਜੋ ਸਾਖੀ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਉਹ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦੀ ਸਾਖੀ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਡੇਰੀ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਕਾਰਜ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਾਖੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ।

37 And the Father who has sent me himself has borne witness concerning me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor have seen his shape,ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਪਿਤਾ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਾਖ਼ੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਦੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣੀ। ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਦੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ।

38 and ye have not his word abiding in you; for whom *he* hath sent, him ye do not believe.ਉਸ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ।

39 Ye search the scriptures, for ye think that in them ye have life eternal, and they it is which bear witness concerning me;ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਸੋਚਕੇ ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਪੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ। ਉਹੀ ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਾਖੀ ਦਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ!

40 and ye will not come to me that ye might have life.ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ।

41 I do not receive glory from men,“ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ।

42 but I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ।

43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not; if another come in his own name, him ye will receive.ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ। ਪਰ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਬੂਲਦੇ। ਜੇਕਰ ਦੂਸਰਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੁਦ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰ ਲਵੋਂਗੇ।

44 How can ye believe, who receive glory one of another, and seek not the glory which [comes] from God alone?ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਤੋਂ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ। ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਦੀ ਚਾਹਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਤਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹੋ?

45 Think not that I will accuse you to the Father: there is [one] who accuses you, Moses, on whom ye trust;ਇਹ ਨਾ ਸੋਚੋ ਕਿ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਵਾਂਗਾ। ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮੂਸਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਆਸ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।

46 for if ye had believed Moses, ye would have believed me, for he wrote of me.ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੂਸਾ ਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ।

47 But if ye do not believe his writings, how shall ye believe my words?ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਿਖਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਫੇਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਤੇ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ।”
