John 19 - YLT (Punjabi)

1 Then, therefore, did Pilate take Jesus and scourge `him',ਤਦ ਫਿਰ ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੜ ਕੇ ਕੋੜੇ ਮਾਰਨ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

2 and the soldiers having plaited a crown of thorns, did place `it' on his head, and a purple garment they put around him,ਸੈਨਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੰਡਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਤਾਜ ਗੁੰਦ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੈਂਗਨੀ ਚੋਲਾ ਪਹਿਨਾਇਆ।

3 and said, `Hail! the king of the Jews;' and they were giving him slaps.ਬਾਰ-ਬਾਰ ਸੈਨਕ ਆਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਕੇ ਠੱਠਾ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ, “ਹੇ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ, ਨਮਸੱਕਾਰ।” ਇਸਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਤੇ ਚਪੇੜਾਂ ਵੀ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ।

4 Pilate, therefore, again went forth without, and saith to them, `Lo, I do bring him to you without, that ye may know that in him I find no fault;'ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਫਿਰ ਬਾਹਰ ਆਕੇ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਵੇਖੋ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਤੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਉਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਿਆ।”

5 Jesus, therefore, came forth without, bearing the thorny crown and the purple garment; and he saith to them, `Lo, the man!'ਫਿਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਬਾਹਰ ਆਇਆ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ ਕੰਡਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਤਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਬੈਂਗਨੀ ਚੋਗਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਵੇਖੋ, ਇਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਹੈ।”

6 When, therefore, the chief priests and the officers did see him, they cried out, saying, `Crucify, crucify;' Pilate saith to them, `Take ye him -- ye, and crucify; for I find no fault in him;'ਜਦੋਂ ਪਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਪਹਿਰੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰੌਲਾ ਪਾਇਆ, “ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਲੀਬ ਦਿਓ! ਸਲੀਬ ਦਿਓ!” ਪਰ ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਜਾਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਸਲੀਬ ਦੇ ਦਿਓ, ਪਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਸਤੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਿਆ।”

7 the Jews answered him, `We have a law, and according to our law he ought to die, for he made himself Son of God.'ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਇਹ ਮਰਨ ਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਸਨੇ ਇਹ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ।”

8 When, therefore, Pilate heard this word, he was the more afraid,ਜਦ ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣੀ ਤਦ ਉਹ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਡਰ ਗਿਆ।

9 and entered again to the praetorium, and saith to Jesus, `Whence art thou?' and Jesus gave him no answer.ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਮਹਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੂੰ ਕਿੱਥੋਂ ਆਇਆ ਹੈਂ?” ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਜਵਾਬ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

10 Pilate, therefore, saith to him, `To me dost thou not speak? hast thou not known that I have authority to crucify thee, and I have authority to release thee?'ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਬੋਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰੀ ਹੈਂ? ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਸਲੀਬ ਤੇ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਵਾਂ?”

11 Jesus answered, `Thou wouldst have no authority against me, if it were not having been given thee from above; because of this, he who is delivering me up to thee hath greater sin.'ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇਹ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ, ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਹੈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜਿਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੱਥੀ ਫ਼ੜਵਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਵੱਧ ਪਾਪ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ।”

12 From this `time' was Pilate seeking to release him, and the Jews were crying out, saying, `If this one thou mayest release, thou art not a friend of Caesar; every one making himself a king, doth speak against Caesar.'ਇਸਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ। ਪਰ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਰੌਲਾ ਪਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, “ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਠਹਿਰਾਵੇਗਾ ਉਹ ਕੈਸਰ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੇਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡੇਂਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਇਸਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਤੂੰ ਕੈਸਰ ਦਾ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।”

13 Pilate, therefore, having heard this word, brought Jesus without -- and he sat down upon the tribunal -- to a place called, `Pavement,' and in Hebrew, Gabbatha;ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣਕੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ “ਪੱਥਰ ਦੇ ਚਬੂਤਰੇ” ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਇਆ। (ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਬਰਾਨੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਗੱਬਥਾ ਆਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਂਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਕੁਰਸੀ ਤੇ ਬੈਠ ਗਿਆ।

14 and it was the preparation of the passover, and as it were the sixth hour, and he saith to the Jews, `Lo, your king!'ਇਹ ਤਕਰੀਬਨ ਦੁਪਿਹਰ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਪਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਸੀ। ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਹ ਵੇਖੋ, ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਇੱਥੇ ਹੈ।”

15 and they cried out, `Take away, take away, crucify him;' Pilate saith to them, `Your king shall I crucify?' the chief priests answered, `We have no king except Caesar.'ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਡੰਡ ਪਾਈ, “ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਲੈ ਜਾਓ, ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਜਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਲੀਬ ਦਿਓ।” ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਲੀਬ ਦੇਵਾਂ?” ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸਾਡਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇੱਕ ਹੀ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੈ, ਕੈਸਰ।”

16 Then, therefore, he delivered him up to them, that he may be crucified, and they took Jesus and led `him' away,ਤਾਂ ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਲੀਬ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਲੀਬ ਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਗਏ।

17 and bearing his cross, he went forth to the place called `Place' of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew Golgotha;ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਲੀਬ ਆਪ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਅਤੇ “ਖੋਪਰੀ” ਨਾਮੇਂ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਗਿਆ। ਅਤੇ ਇਬਰਾਨੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ “ਗਲਗੱਥਾ” ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

18 where they crucified him, and with him two others, on this side, and on that side, and Jesus in the midst.ਉੱਥੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਲੀਬ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉੱਥੇ ਦੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੋਰ ਸਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਲ ਸਲੀਬ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਇੱਕ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦੋਹੀਂ ਪਾਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਵਿੱਚਾਲੇ।

19 And Pilate also wrote a title, and put `it' on the cross, and it was written, `Jesus the Nazarene, the king of the Jews;'ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਚਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਪੱਟੀ ਲਿਖਵਾ ਕੇ ਸਲੀਬ ਉੱਪਰ ਟੰਗਵਾਈ ਜਿਸਤੇ ਇਹ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, “ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਸਰੀ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ।”

20 this title, therefore, read many of the Jews, because the place was nigh to the city where Jesus was crucified, and it was having been written in Hebrew, in Greek, in Roman.ਇਹ ਚਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਪੱਟੀ ਇਬਰਾਨੀ, ਲਾਤੀਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਨਾਨੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ। ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸੰਕੇਤ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ, ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਲੀਬ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ, ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਹੀ ਸੀ।

21 The chief priests of the Jews said, therefore, to Pilate, `Write not -- The king of the Jews, but that one said, I am king of the Jews;'ਪਰਧਾਨ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ, “ਇਹ ਨਾ ਲਿਖ, ‘ਉਹ ਯਹੂਦੀਆ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੈ।’ ਸਗੋਂ ਇਹ ਲਿਖ ਕਿ, ‘ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਹਾਂ।’”

22 Pilate answered, `What I have written, I have written.'ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਦਲ ਸੱਕਦਾ।”

23 The soldiers, therefore, when they did crucify Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to each soldier a part, also the coat, and the coat was seamless, from the top woven throughout,ਜਦੋਂ ਸੈਨਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਲੀਬ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਸਤਰ ਲਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਰ ਹਿਸਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡਿਆ। ਹਰੇਕ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਹਿੱਸਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਕੁੜਤਾ ਵੀ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ। ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਸਿਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਥੱਲੇ ਤੱਕ ਇੱਕੋ ਹੀ ਟੁਕੜੇ ਦਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।

24 they said, therefore, to one another, `We may not rend it, but cast a lot for it, whose it shall be;' that the Writing might be fulfilled, that is saying, `They divided my garments to themselves, and upon my raiment they did cast a lot;' the soldiers, therefore, indeed, did these things.ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਕੁੜਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾੜਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ, ਸਗੋਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਪਰਚੀਆਂ ਪਾਕੇ ਵੇਖ ਲੈਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਕਿਸ ਦੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।” ਇਹ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੋਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਪੋਥੀ ਦਾ ਕਥਨ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋ ਸੱਕੇ। “ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਸਤਰ ਵੀ ਆਪਸ ਚ ਵੰਡ ਲਏ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੱਪੜਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਪਰਚੀ ਸੁੱਟੀ।” ਤਾਂ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਨੇ ਇਉਂ ਕੀਤਾ।

25 And there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary of Cleopas, and Mary the Magdalene;ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਉਸਦੀ ਸਲੀਬ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਖੜ੍ਹੀ ਸੀ। ਉਸਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੈਣ, ਕਲੋਪਸ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਮਰਿਯਮ ਅਤੇ ਮਰਿਯਮ ਮਗਦਲੀਨੀ ਵੀ ਖਲੋਤੀਆਂ ਸਨ।

26 Jesus, therefore, having seen `his' mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he was loving, he saith to his mother, `Woman, lo, thy son;'ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ। ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਚੇਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਬੜਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਵੀ ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਪਿਆਰੀ ਔਰਤ! ਇਹ ਰਿਹਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ।”

27 afterward he saith to the disciple, `Lo, thy mother;' and from that hour the disciple took her to his own `home'.ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਚੇਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੇਰੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਇੱਥੇ ਹੈ।” ਤਾਂ ਇਸਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ ਉਹ ਚੇਲਾ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੋਲ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ।

28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things now have been finished, that the Writing may be fulfilled, saith, `I thirst;'ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਯਿਸੂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪੋਥੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੋ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਪਿਆਸਾ ਹਾਂ।”

29 a vessel, therefore, was placed full of vinegar, and they having filled a sponge with vinegar, and having put `it' around a hyssop stalk, did put `it' to his mouth;ਉੱਥੇ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਮਰਤਬਾਨ ਸਿਰਕੇ ਦਾ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਪੰਜ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਿਗੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਸਪੰਜ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ੂਫ਼ੇ ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੌਧੇ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਕੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਤੱਕ ਉੱਪਰ ਉੱਠਾਇਆ।

30 when, therefore, Jesus received the vinegar, he said, `It hath been finished;' and having bowed the head, gave up the spirit.ਜਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਸਿਰਕੇ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਦ ਵੇਖਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇਹ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।” ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਨ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ।

31 The Jews, therefore, that the bodies might not remain on the cross on the sabbath, since it was the preparation, (for that sabbath day was a great one,) asked of Pilate that their legs may be broken, and they taken away.ਇਹ ਦਿਨ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਗਲਾ ਦਿਨ ਸਬਤ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਸੀ। ਯਹੂਦੀ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਲੋਥਾਂ ਸਲੀਬ ਤੇ ਟੰਗੀਆਂ ਰਹਿਣ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸਬਤ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਖਾਸ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੱਤਾਂ ਤੋੜਨ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਦੇਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਜਲਦੀ ਮਰ ਜਾਣ ਅਤੇ ਸਲੀਬਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜਲਦੀ ਹੀ ਲੋਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਾਰਿਆ ਜਾ ਸੱਕੇ।

32 The soldiers, therefore, came, and of the first indeed they did break the legs, and of the other who was crucified with him,ਤਾਂ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੱਤਾਂ ਤੋੜੀਆਂ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਲ ਸਲੀਬ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੱਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਤੋੜ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ।

33 and having come to Jesus, when they saw him already having been dead, they did not break his legs;ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਯਿਸੂ ਤਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਮਰ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸਦੀਆਂ ਲੱਤਾਂ ਨਾ ਤੋੜੀਆਂ।

34 but one of the soldiers with a spear did pierce his side, and immediately there came forth blood and water;ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਨੇ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਕੱਢੀ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਵੱਖੀ ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲਹੂ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਆਇਆ।

35 and he who hath seen hath testified, and his testimony is true, and that one hath known that true things he speaketh, that ye also may believe.(ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਕਹਿ ਰਿਹਾ, ਸੱਚ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਰ ਸੱਕੋਂ।)

36 For these things came to pass, that the Writing may be fulfilled, `A bone of him shall not be broken;'ਇਹ ਪੋਥੀ ਦੀ ਕਹਿਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ: “ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਹੱਡੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੋੜੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।”

37 and again another Writing saith, `They shall look to him whom they did pierce.'ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੀ ਪੋਥੀ ਆਖਦੀ ਹੈ, “ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖਣਗੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਸੀ।”

38 And after these things did Joseph of Arimathea -- being a disciple of Jesus, but concealed, through the fear of the Jews -- ask of Pilate, that he may take away the body of Jesus, and Pilate gave leave; he came, therefore, and took away the body of Jesus,ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਦਫ਼ਨਾਉਣਾ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ ਅਰਿਮਥੇਆ ਦੇ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੇ ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਡਰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਗੁਪਤ ਚੇਲਾ ਸੀ। ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਤਾਂ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਲੋਥ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ।

39 and Nicodemus also came -- who came unto Jesus by night at the first -- bearing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, as it were, a hundred pounds.ਨਿਕੁਦੇਮੁਸ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਗਿਆ। ਨਿਕੁਦੇਮੁਸ ਉਹੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਚੌਂਤੀ ਲੀਟਰ ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਗੰਧਰਸ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਸ਼੍ਰਿਤ ਊਦ ਲਿਆਇਆ।

40 They took, therefore, the body of Jesus, and bound it with linen clothes with the spices, according as it was the custom of the Jews to prepare for burial;ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਲੋਥ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਫ਼ਨਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਰਿਵਾਜ਼ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਸਮਗਰੀ ਪਾਕੇ ਇੱਕ ਪਤਲੇ ਲਿਨਨ ਦੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਲਪੇਟਿਆ।

41 and there was in the place where he was crucified a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one was yet laid;ਜਿਸ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਲੀਬ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਉੱਥੇ ਇੱਕ ਬਾਗ ਸੀ। ਉੱਥੇ ਇੱਕ ਨਵੀਂ ਕਬਰ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਦਫ਼ਨਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।

42 there, therefore, because of the preparation of the Jews, because the tomb was nigh, they laid Jesus.ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਕਬਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਨੇੜੇ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਵੀ ਸੀ।
