Jeremiah 36:23
ਯਹੂਦੀ ਨੇ ਪੱਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਤਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਜਾਂ ਚਾਰ ਪੈਰੇ ਪੜ੍ਹੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਯਹੋਯਾਕੀਮ ਨੇ ਪੱਤਰੀ ਖੋਹ ਲਈ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪੱਤਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਜਿਹੇ ਚਾਕੂ ਨਾਲ ਕੱਟ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਆਖਿਰਕਾਰ ਸਾਰੀ ਪੱਤਰੀ ਅੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾੜ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ।

| penknife, the with it | בְּתַ֣עַר | bĕtaʿar | beh-TA-ar |
| הַסֹּפֵ֔ר | hassōpēr | ha-soh-FARE | |
| and cast | וְהַשְׁלֵ֕ךְ | wĕhašlēk | veh-hahsh-LAKE |
