Jeremiah 34:7
ਇਹ ਉਦੋਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਲੜ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ। ਬਾਬਲ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਵੀ ਲੜ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਹਾਲੇ ਤੀਕ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਹੋਇਆ। ਉਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਸਨ ਲਾਕੀਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਅਜ਼ੇਕਾਹ। ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਹੀ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਕਿਲਾਬੰਦ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਸਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਚੇ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ ਸਨ।

ਉੱਤਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਤਬਾਹੀ “ਇਸ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਵੋ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ ਦਿਓ, ‘ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਅੰਦਰ ਤੁਰ੍ਹੀ ਵਜਾ ਦਿਓ।’ ਉੱਚੀ-ਉੱਚੀ ਪੁਕਾਰੋ ਤੇ ਆਖੋ, ‘ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਕੇ ਆਓ! ਆਓ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵੱਲ ਬਚ ਨਿਕਲੀ।’

ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਮਿਲਿਆ। ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਉਦੋਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਬਾਬਲ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਸਬਿਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਜੰਗ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਕੋਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵੀ ਸੀ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ।
Jeremiah 11:12
ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਕਸਬਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਜਾਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੁੱਤਾਂ ਪਾਸ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੁੱਤਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਧੂਪ ਧੁਖਾਉਣਗੇ। ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਸਮਾਂ ਆਵੇਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਬੁੱਤ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਣਗੇ।

“‘ਅਸੀਂ ਇੱਥੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਕਿਉਂ ਬੈਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਾਂ? ਆਓ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵੱਲ ਨੱਸ ਚੱਲੀਏ। ਜੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਹੀ ਲੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਆਓ ਅਸੀਂ ਓੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਮਰੀਏ। ਅਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਦ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪੀਣ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।

ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਫ਼ੌਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਉਲਝਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਜਿੱਤ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਦਾ ਗਿਬਓਨ ਤੋਂ ਬੈਤ ਹੋਰੋਨ ਵੱਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੜਕ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਨੇ ਅਜ਼ੇਕਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਮੱਕੇਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਮੁਕਾਇਆ।
Deuteronomy 28:52
“ਉਹ ਕੌਮ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਘੇਰਾ ਪਾ ਲਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰੇਗੀ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੋਚਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੰਮੀਆਂ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕੰਧਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨਗੀਆਂ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਕੰਧਾ ਢਹਿ-ਢੇਰੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ। ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾ ਸਮੇਤ, ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਲਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
