Jeremiah 22:8
“ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਲੰਘਣਗੇ। ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਣਗੇ, ‘ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਗੱਲ ਕਿਉਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ? ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਕਿੰਨਾ ਮਹਾਨ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਸੀ।’

ਫ਼ਿਰ ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਭੂਮੀ ਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜੜ ਤੋਂ ਪੁੱਟ ਸੁੱਟਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਛੱਡ ਜਾਵਾਂਗਾ। ਤੇ ਇਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ ਕਿ ਲੋਕ ਇਸ ਬਾਬਤ ਬਹੁਤ ਬੁਰਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਆਖਣਗੇ।
Deuteronomy 29:23
ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਬੇਕਾਰ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ-ਲੂਣ ਲਗੀ ਬਲਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਗੰਧਕ ਨਾਲ ਤਬਾਹ ਹੋਈ ਧਰਤੀ। ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਪੌਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਇੱਥੇ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਉੱਗੇਗਾ-ਘਾਹ ਫ਼ੂਸ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ। ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਸਦੂਮ, ਅਮੂਰਾਹ, ਅਦਮਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਸਬੋਈਮ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਬਾਹ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਕਹਿਰਵਾਨ ਹੋਕੇ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।

“ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ, ਤੂੰ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੇਁਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਣਗੇ, ‘ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਇਹ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਆਖੀਆਂ ਹਨ? ਅਸੀਂ ਕੀ ਕਸੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ? ਅਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ?’
Lamentations 4:12
ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਾ ਕਰ ਸੱਕੇ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਫ਼ਾਟਕਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਸਨ।

“ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੂੰ ਨੇਕ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਨੇਕੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੈ! ਪਰ ਅੱਜ ਅਸੀਂ ਸ਼ਰਮਸਾਰ ਹਾਂ। ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਸ਼ਰਮਸਾਰ ਹਨ। ਸ਼ਰਮਸਾਰ ਹਨ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਲੋਕ-ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਵੀ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਦੂਰ ਹਨ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਖਿੰਡਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚਲੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਮਸਾਰ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਮਸਾਰ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
