1 Yahweh said to me, "Take a large tablet, and write on it with a man's pen, 'For Maher Shalal Hash Baz;{"Maher Shalal Hash Baz" means "quick to the plunder, swift to the spoil."}'ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰ ਛੇਤੀ ਆਵੇਗਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਤਖਤੀ ਲਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਲਮ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਲਿਖੋ: ‘ਇਹ ਮਾਹੇਰ ਸ਼ਲਾਲ ਹਸ਼ਬਾਜ਼ ਲਈ ਹੈ’ (ਇਸਦਾ ਅਰਬ ਹੈ ‘ਇੱਥੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਛੇਤੀ ਲੁੱਟ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ!’)”

2 and I will take to me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.ਮੈਂ ਕੁਝ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕਤ੍ਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਗਵਾਹ ਵਜੋਂ ਇਤਬਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਸੀ। (ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਸਨ ਜਾਜਕ ਉਰੀਯਾਹ, ਅਤੇ ਯਬਰਕਯਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜ਼ਕਰਯਾਹ।) ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਲਿਖਦਿਆਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ।

3 I went to the prophetess; and she conceived, and bore a son. Then said Yahweh to me, Call his name Maher Shalal Hash Baz.ਫ਼ੇਰ ਮੈਂ ਔਰਤ ਨਬੀ ਕੋਲ ਗਿਆ। ਉਹ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜੰਮਿਆ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਲੜਕੇ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਮਾਹੇਰ ਸ਼ਲਾਲ ਹਸ਼ਬਾਜ਼ ਰੱਖੋ।

4 For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and, My mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be carried away before the king of Assyria.ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਇਸਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਿ ਲੜਕਾ ‘ਅੰਮਾ’ ‘ਅੱਬਾ’ ਆਖਣਾ ਸਿੱਖੇ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਮਿਸ਼ਕ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਤੋਂ ਸਾਰਾ ਧਨ ਦੌਲਤ ਖੋਹ ਲਵੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।”

5 Yahweh spoke to me yet again, saying,ਫ਼ੇਰ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ।

6 Because this people have refused the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah's son;ਮੇਰੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਸ਼ਿਲੋਆਹ ਦੇ ਤਲਾ ਦੇ ਧੀਮੀ ਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਚੱਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਾਣੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਰਸੀਨ ਅਤੇ ਰਮਲਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ (ਪੇਕਾਹ) ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹਨ।”

7 now therefore, behold, the Lord brings up on them the waters of the River, strong and many, [even] the king of Assyria and all his glory: and it shall come up over all its channels, and go over all its banks;ਪਰ ਮੈਂ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਵਰਤਾਂਗਾ। ਉਹ ਫ਼ਰਾਤ ਨਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਤੇਜ਼ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਵਾਂਗ ਆਉਣਗੇ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਕੰਢਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ।

8 and it shall sweep onward into Judah; it shall overflow and pass through; it shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of its wings shall fill the breadth of your land, Immanuel.ਉਹ ਪਾਣੀ ਉਸ ਨਦੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਵਗਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਇਹ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੀ ਧੌਣ ਤਾਈ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਇਹ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਤਕਰੀਬਨ ਡੋਬ ਹੀ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। ਇਮਾਨੂਏਲ, ਇਹ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਇੰਨਾ ਫ਼ੈਲ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਉੱਤੇ ਫ਼ੈਲ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

9 Make an uproar, O you peoples, and be broken in pieces! And give ear, all you of far countries: gird yourselves, and be broken in pieces! Gird yourselves, and be broken in pieces!ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕੋ, ਜੰਗ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੋ! ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹਾਰ ਜਾਵੋਂਗੇ। ਦੂਰ ਦੁਰਾਡੇ ਦੇ ਦੇਸੋ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਣੋ! ਜੰਗ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਕਰੋ! ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹਾਰ ਜਾਵੋਗੇ!

10 Take counsel together, and it shall be brought to nothing; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.ਲੜਾਈ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਵਿਉਂਤਾਂ ਬਣਾਓ! ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਵਿਉਂਤਾਂ ਨਿਸਫ਼ਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ। ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਫ਼ੌਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿਓ! ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਫ਼ਿਜ਼ੂਲ ਹੋਣਗੇ। ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ!

11 For Yahweh spoke thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me not to walk in the way of this people, saying,ਯਸਾਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਹਾਨ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ,

12 Don't you say, "A conspiracy!" concerning all about which this people shall say, "A conspiracy!" neither fear their fear, nor be in dread [of it].“ਹਰ ਬੰਦਾ ਆਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਵਿਉਂਤਾਂ ਬਣਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਨਾ ਡਰੋ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਡਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਨਾ ਡਰੋ।”

13 Yahweh of hosts, him shall you sanctify; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਹਸਤੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਡਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।

14 He shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offense to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰੋਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਜਾਣੋਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉਸ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਤੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲੋਕ ਠੋਕਰ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹੋ। ਉਹ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਡੇਗਦੀ ਹੈ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੜਨ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਜਾਲ ਹੈ।

15 Many shall stumble thereon, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.(ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਇਸ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਦੀ ਠੋਕਰ ਖਾਣਗੇ। ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਡਿੱਗ ਪੈਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਟੁੱਟ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਉਹ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ਸ ਜਾਣਗੇ।)

16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.“ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਬਂਨੋ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਹਰਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿਓ। ਮੇਰੀ ਬਿਵਸਬਾ ਨੂੰ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਲਈ ਬਚਾ ਲਵੋ। ਇਹ ਉਦੋਂ ਕਰੋ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਦੇਖ ਰਹੇ ਹੋਣ।”

17 I will wait for Yahweh, who hides his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਹੈ ਮੈਂ ਸਾਡੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ਰਮਸਾਰ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਦੇਖਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਭਾਲ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਵੇਗਾ।

18 Behold, I and the children whom Yahweh has given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from Yahweh of Hosts, who dwells in Mount Zion.ਮੇਰੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਸੰਕੇਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਬੂਤ ਹਾਂ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ-ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸੀਯੋਨ ਪਰਵਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

19 When they shall tell you, "Consult with those who have familiar spirits and with the wizards, who chirp and who mutter:" shouldn't a people consult with their God? on behalf of the living [should they consult] with the dead?ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, “ਜੋਤਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੁੱਧੀਮਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛੋ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ।” (ਇਹ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਦੱਸਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਬੁੱਧੀਮਾਨ ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਵਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਫ਼ੁਸਫ਼ੁਸਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨ ਦਿਵਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਗੁੱਝੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ।) ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ “ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਦੇਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਜੋਤਸ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਬੁੱਧੀਮਾਨ ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਭਲਾ ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਚੀਜ਼ ਕਿਉਂ ਮੰਗਣ?”

20 To the law and to the testimony! if they don't speak according to this word, surely there is no morning for them.ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਵਸਬਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨੋਗੇ, ਤਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋਵੋਗੇ। (ਗ਼ਲਤ ਹੁਕਮ ਉਹ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਜੋਤਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਭਵਿੱਖਵਕਤਾਵਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਹੁਕਮ ਫ਼ਿਜ਼ੂਲ ਹਨ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਲਾਭ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।)

21 They shall pass through it, sore distressed and hungry; and it shall happen that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse by their king and by their God, and turn their faces upward:ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਆਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰੋਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੁੱਖਮਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਹੋਣਗੀਆਂ। ਲੋਕ ਭੁੱਖੇ ਮਰਨਗੇ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਤੱਕਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਾਪਣਗੇ।

22 and they shall look to the earth, and see, distress and darkness, the gloom of anguish; and into thick darkness [they shall be] driven away.ਜੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵੱਲ ਦੇਖਣਗੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ਾ ਭਰਿਆ ਅੰਧਕਾਰ ਹੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆਵੇਗਾ-ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡਣ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਨੇਰੀ ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ਾ। ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਲੋਕ ਅੰਧਕਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ਸੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਣਗੇ।
