Hosea 11
1 ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਅਜੇ ਬੱਚਾ ਹੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਸੱਦਿਆ।
2 ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਵੱਧ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦਿਆ, ਉਨ੍ਨਾ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਅਗਾਂਹ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਰਹੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਆਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੁੱਤਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਧੂਫ਼ਾਂ ਧੁਖਾਈਆਂ।
3 “ਪਰ ਇਹ ਮੈਂ ਹੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਅਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਰਨਾ ਸਿੱਖਾਇਆ, ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਬਾਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ, ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
4 ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਰਸੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਚਲਾਇਆ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ। ਮੈਂ ਝੁਕ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਆਇਆ।
5 “ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲ ਮੁੜਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ, ਉਹ ਵਾਪਸ ਮਿਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
6 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਲਟਕੇਗੀ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਤਾਕਤਵਰ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ।
7 “ਮੇਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਉਮੀਦ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਵਾਂਗਾ। ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਪਰ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ।”
1 When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.
2 As they called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images.
3 I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I healed them.
4 I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them.
5 He shall not return into the land of Egypt, but the Assyrian shall be his king, because they refused to return.
6 And the sword shall abide on his cities, and shall consume his branches, and devour them, because of their own counsels.
7 And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt him.

3 “ਪਰ ਇਹ ਮੈਂ ਹੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਅਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਰਨਾ ਸਿੱਖਾਇਆ, ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਬਾਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ, ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I healed them.
4 ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਰਸੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਚਲਾਇਆ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ। ਮੈਂ ਝੁਕ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਆਇਆ।

5 “ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲ ਮੁੜਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ, ਉਹ ਵਾਪਸ ਮਿਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
He shall not return into the land of Egypt, but the Assyrian shall be his king, because they refused to return.

And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt him.
