Genesis 35:3
ਅਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਥਾਂ ਛੱਡ ਦਿਆਂਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਤਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲੇ ਜਾਵਾਂਗੇ। ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਲਈ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਉਸਾਰਾਂਗਾ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਵੇਲੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਮੈਂ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।”

| to Beth-el; | בֵּֽית | bêt | bate |
| make will I and | אֵ֑ל | ʾēl | ale |
| there | וְאֶֽעֱשֶׂה | wĕʾeʿĕśe | veh-EH-ay-seh |
| an altar | שָּׁ֣ם | šām | shahm |
| unto God, | מִזְבֵּ֗חַ | mizbēaḥ | meez-BAY-ak |
| answered who | לָאֵ֞ל | lāʾēl | la-ALE |
| me in the day | הָֽעֹנֶ֤ה | hāʿōne | ha-oh-NEH |
| of my distress, | אֹתִי֙ | ʾōtiy | oh-TEE |
| was and | בְּי֣וֹם | bĕyôm | beh-YOME |
| with me in the way | צָֽרָתִ֔י | ṣārātî | tsa-ra-TEE |
| which | וַֽיְהִי֙ | wayhiy | va-HEE |
| I went. | עִמָּדִ֔י | ʿimmādî | ee-ma-DEE |
| בַּדֶּ֖רֶךְ | badderek | ba-DEH-rek | |
| אֲשֶׁ֥ר | ʾăšer | uh-SHER | |
| הָלָֽכְתִּי׃ | hālākĕttî | ha-LA-heh-tee |
