Genesis 17 - DBY (Punjabi)

1 And Abram was ninety-nine years old, when Jehovah appeared to Abram, and said to him, I [am] the Almighty ùGod: walk before my face, and be perfect.ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਦਾ ਸਬੂਤ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਜਦੋਂ ਅਬਰਾਮ 99 ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹਾਂ। ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰ: ਮੇਰਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਹੀ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਉਂ।

2 And I will set my covenant between me and thee, and will very greatly multiply thee.ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਇੱਕ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਹਾਨ ਕੌਮ ਬਨਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।”

3 And Abram fell on his face; and God talked with him, saying,ਫ਼ੇਰ ਅਬਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਜਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ,

4 It is I: behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of a multitude of nations.“ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਦਾ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਇਹ ਹੈ: ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।

5 And thy name shall no more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of a multitude of nations have I made thee.ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਦਲ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਬਰਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ-ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਬਣਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ।

6 And I will make thee exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਨਵੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਣਗੇ।

7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee, and thy seed after thee in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to thee, and to thy seed after thee.ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਲਈ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ।

8 And I give to thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land of thy sojourning, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be a God to them.ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਲੰਘ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ-ਕਨਾਨ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ। ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਦੇ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ।”

9 And God said to Abraham, And [as for] thee, thou shalt keep my covenant, thou and thy seed after thee in their generations.ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹੁਣ ਤੇਰੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਦਾ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਇਹ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣਗੇ।

10 This is my covenant which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee -- that every male among you be circumcised.ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੰਨੋਂਗੇ। ਇਹ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਹੈ: ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵੀ ਮੁੰਡਾ ਜੰਮੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਕਰਨੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ।

11 And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and [that] shall be a sign of the covenant between me and you.ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਦਰਸ਼ਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਮਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਟੋਂਗੇ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਹੋਏ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੱਲਦੇ ਹੋਂ।

12 And at eight days old shall every male in your generations be circumcised among you -- he who is born in the house, and he who is bought with money, any stranger who is not of thy seed.ਜਦੋਂ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅੱਠਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਕਰ ਦੇਣੀ। ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਮੁੰਡਾ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਘਰੇ ਜਨਮਿਆ ਜਾਂ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਦੇ ਘਰੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਖਰੀਦਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ, ਉਸਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਹੋਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।

13 He who is born in thy house, and he who is bought with thy money, must be circumcised; and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਹਰ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਜੋ ਵੀ ਮੁੰਡਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੰਮੇ ਜਾਂ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਵਜੋਂ ਖਰੀਦਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ, ਉਸਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਹੋਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰਾ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਰੀਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਿਆਂ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

14 And the uncircumcised male who hath not been circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that soul shall be cut off from his peoples: he hath broken my covenant.ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ, ਤੇਰੇ ਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਇਹ ਹੈ: ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਆਦਮੀ ਜਿਸਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਨਾ ਹੋਈ ਹੋਵੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਛੇਕ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਤੋੜਿਆ ਹੈ।”

15 And God said to Abraham, [As to] Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name.ਇਸਹਾਕ-ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਸਾਰਈ ਨੂੰ ਨਵਾਂ ਨਾਮ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਾਰਾਹ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।

16 And I will bless her, and I will give thee a son also of her; and I will bless her, and she shall become nations: kings of peoples shall be of her.ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਸ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਉਸਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੋਵੇਂਗਾ। ਉਹ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਣਗੇ।”

17 And Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall [a child] be born to him that is a hundred years old? and shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear?ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਝੁਕ ਕੇ ਸਿਜਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਇਹ ਦਰਸਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਹੱਸ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੋਚਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ 100 ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ। ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਾਹ 90 ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਬੱਚਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦੀ।”

18 And Abraham said to God, Oh that Ishmael might live before thee!ਫ਼ੇਰ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਇਸਮਾਏਲ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਜਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖ ਸੱਕਦਾ।”

19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall indeed bear thee a son; and thou shalt call his name Isaac; and I will establish my covenant with him, for an everlasting covenant for his seed after him.ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਨਹੀਂ! ਮੈਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਸਾਰਾਹ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ। ਤੂੰ ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਇਸਹਾਕ ਰੱਖੀਂ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਉਹ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਦਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਹੇਗਾ।

20 And for Ishmael I have heard thee: behold, I will bless him, and will make him fruitful, and will very greatly multiply him; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.“ਤੂੰ ਇਸਮਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਸੁਣ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਸ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ। ਉਹ ਬਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਹਾਨ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਉਸਦਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਇੱਕ ਮਹਾਨ ਕੌਮ ਬਣ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to thee at this appointed time in the next year.ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਇਸਹਾਕ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਇਸਹਾਕ ਉਹ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰਾਹ ਜਨਮ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ। ਇਸ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਅਗਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਇਸੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।”

22 And he left off talking with him; and God went up from Abraham.ਜਦੋਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਹਟਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉੱਪਰ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ।

23 And Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all who were born in his house, and all who were bought with his money -- every male among the people of Abraham's house -- and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin on that same day, as God had said to him.ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੰਡਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਇਸਮਾਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਨਮੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਲਾਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠਿਆਂ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ। ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੁਲਾਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਖਰੀਦਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠਿਆਂ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ।

24 And Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ 99 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।

25 And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਇਸਮਾਏਲ 13 ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।

26 In the selfsame day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his son;ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇਸਮਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਉਸ ਇੱਕੋ ਦਿਨ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।

27 and all the men of his house, born in his house, or bought with money of the stranger, were circumcised with him.ਅਤੇ ਓਸੇ ਦਿਨ ਹੀ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਜੰਮੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਲਾਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਖਰੀਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਲਾਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
