Genesis 12:12
ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਣਗੇ। ਉਹ ਆਖਣਗੇ, ‘ਇਹ ਔਰਤ ਇਸਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਹੈ।’ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਜਿਉਂਦੀ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੇਣਗੇ।

| the Egyptians | יִרְא֤וּ | yirʾû | yeer-OO |
| shall see | אֹתָךְ֙ | ʾōtok | oh-toke |
| say, shall they that thee, | הַמִּצְרִ֔ים | hammiṣrîm | ha-meets-REEM |
| This | וְאָֽמְר֖וּ | wĕʾāmĕrû | veh-ah-meh-ROO |
| is his wife: | אִשְׁתּ֣וֹ | ʾištô | eesh-TOH |
| kill will they and | זֹ֑את | zōt | zote |
| me, but they will save thee alive. | וְהָֽרְג֥וּ | wĕhārĕgû | veh-ha-reh-ɡOO |
| אֹתִ֖י | ʾōtî | oh-TEE | |
| וְאֹתָ֥ךְ | wĕʾōtāk | veh-oh-TAHK | |
| יְחַיּֽוּ׃ | yĕḥayyû | yeh-ha-yoo |
