Genesis 1:5
ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਨੂੰ “ਦਿਨ” ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਨੂੰ “ਰਾਤ” ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਸ਼ਾਮ ਹੋਈ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਸਵੇਰ ਹੋਈ। ਇਹ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਦਿਨ ਸੀ।

And God	וַיִּקְרָ֨א	wayyiqrāʾ	va-yeek-RA
called	אֱלֹהִ֤ים׀	ʾĕlōhîm	ay-loh-HEEM
the light	לָאוֹר֙	lāʾôr	la-ORE
Day,	י֔וֹם	yôm	yome
and the darkness	וְלַחֹ֖שֶׁךְ	wĕlaḥōšek	veh-la-HOH-shek
he called	קָ֣רָא	qārāʾ	KA-ra
Night.	לָ֑יְלָה	lāyĕlâ	LA-yeh-la
And the evening	וַֽיְהִי	wayhî	VA-hee
morning the and	עֶ֥רֶב	ʿereb	EH-rev
were	וַֽיְהִי	wayhî	VA-hee
the first	בֹ֖קֶר	bōqer	VOH-ker
day.	י֥וֹם	yôm	yome
	אֶחָֽד׃	ʾeḥād	eh-HAHD
