2 Kings 17:31
ਅੱਵੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਨਿਬਹਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਤਰਤਾਕ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਝੂਠਾ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ। ਸਫ਼ਰਵੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਝੂਠੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਕਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ’ਚ ਸਾੜਿਆ। ਇਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਫਰਵੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਝੂਠੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਅੱਦਰਮਲਕ ਅਤੇ ਅਨਮਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਧੀਆਂ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਲੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਜਾਦੂਗਰੀ ਤੇ ਕਾਲੇ ਇਲਮ ਸਿਖੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਉਹ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮਾੜਾ ਆਖਿਆ। ਇਹ ਸਭ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਕਰੋਧ ਨੂੰ ਭੜਕਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ

ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਨਿਸਰੋਕ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਤੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਅੰਦਰਮਲਕ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਸਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਹ ਅਰਾਰਾਤ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਭੱਜ ਗਏ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਸਨਹੇਰੀਬ ਦੀ ਥਾਵੇਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਰਹਦੋਨ ਨਵਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਣਿਆ।
Leviticus 18:21
“ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਬੱਚੇ ਦੀ ਮੋਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਬਲੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਾਦਰ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ। ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹਾਂ।

Deuteronomy 12:31
ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਨਾਲ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਓਸੇ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨੀ! ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਸਾੜਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਲੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
