ਪਰ ਦਾਊਦ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਰਨਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਨਹੀਂ, ਇਸ ਸਭ ਕਾਸੇ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਚੁਕਾਵਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਅਰਪਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੋਵੇ। ਜਿਸ ਵਸਤ ਦੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੀਮਤ ਅਦਾ ਨਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਪਵੇ ਉਹ ਭੇਟ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ?”
