ତେଣୁ ସୈନ୍ଯାଧିପତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଅଶୂରର ରାଜାକୁ ଯେଉଁପରି ଶାସ୍ତି ଦଇେଥିଲୁ, ସହେିପରି ବାବିଲର ରାଜାକୁ ଓ ତାହାର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦଣ୍ଡ ଦବୋ।

ଏହାପ ରେ ସହେି ରାତ୍ରି ରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଦୂତ ବାହାରି ଅଶୂରୀଯମାନଙ୍କ ଛାଉଣି ରେ 1,85,000 ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ସଂହାର କଲେ। ଯେତବେେଳେ ପ୍ରଭାତ ରେ ଲୋକମାନେ ଉଠିଲେ, ସମାନଙ୍କେ ଚତୁର୍ଦ୍ଦିଗ ରେ କବଳେ ଶବମାନ ଦେଖିଲେ।

ଅଶୂରକୁ ଦେଖ ! ସେ ଲିବାନୋନର ଏରସ ବୃକ୍ଷସ୍ବରୂପ ଅଟେ। ତାହାର ସୁନ୍ଦର ଘନଛାଯାଦାୟକ ଓ ଉଚ୍ଚାକୃତି ଶାଖାମାନ ଥିଲା। ଆଉ ତାହାର ଶିଖର ମେଘ ମଧିଅରେ ଥିଲା।

ଏହି ପୁସ୍ତକ ଇଲକୋଶୀଯ ନାହୂମଙ୍କର ଦର୍ଶନ ଅଟେ। ଏହା ନୀନିବୀ ନଗର ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧ ରେ ଏକ ଦୁଃଖବାର୍ତ୍ତା ଅଟେ।

ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଉତ୍ତରକୁ ଯିବେ ଏବଂ ଅଶୂରକୁ ଦଣ୍ତ ଦବେେ। ନୀନିବୀ ଗୋଟିଏ ଶୂନ୍ଯ ଶୁଷ୍କ ମରୁଭୂମିରେ ପରିଣତ ହବେ।
