Matthew 26:36
ତା'ପରେ ଯୀଶୁ ଶିଷ୍ଯମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଗେଥ୍ଶିମାନୀ ନାମକ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଗଲେ। ଯୀଶୁ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଶିଷ୍ଯମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ସଠାେରେ ଯାଇ ମୁଁ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରୁଥିବା ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଏହିଠା ରେ ବସ।

ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପାଖରୁ କିଛି ଦୁରକୁ ଚାଲିକରି ୟିବାପରେ ଯୀଶୁ ତଳେ ଉବୁଡ଼ ହାଇେ ପଡ଼ିଲେ ଓ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କଲେ, ହେ ପରମପିତା! ଯଦି ସମ୍ଭବ ହୁଏ, ତବେେ ୟନ୍ତ୍ରଣାର ଏହି ପାତ୍ରଟି ମାଠାରୁେ ଦୂର ହାଇଯୋଉ। କିନ୍ତୁ ମାେ ଇଚ୍ଛା ଅନୁସାରେ ନ ହାଇେ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଇଚ୍ଛା ଅନୁସାରେ କରନ୍ତୁ।

ପୁଣି ଥରେ ସେ ଗଲେ ଓ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କଲେ, ହେ ପରମପିତା, ଯଦି ୟନ୍ତ୍ରଣାର ଏ ପାତ୍ର ମାେ ଠାରୁ ଦୂର ହାଇେ ପାରିବ ନାହିଁ ଏବଂ ଏହାକୁ ମୁଁ ପାନ କରେ, ତବେେ ମୁଁ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରୁଛି ଯେ, ଆପଣ ଯାହା ଇଚ୍ଛା କରିଛନ୍ତି, ତାହା ହିଁ ହେଉ।

ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ ଜଗତ ରେ ଥିଲା ବେଳେ ଯେ, ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ମୃତ୍ଯୁରୁ ରକ୍ଷା କରିବାକୁ ସମର୍ଥ, ସହେି ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କୁ ଆକୁଳ ଭାବରେ ଅଶ୍ରୁପାତ ସହ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା ଓ ବିନତି ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ କରିଥିଲେ। ଯେ ହତେୁ ଯୀଶୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଇଚ୍ଛାନୁସା ରେ କାମ କରୁଥିଲେ ଓ ନମ୍ର ଥିଲେ, ତେଣୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ତାହାଙ୍କ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା ରେ ପ୍ରତ୍ଯୁତ୍ତର ଦଇେଥିଲେ।
