କିନ୍ତୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଭବିଷ୍ଯଦ୍ବକ୍ତା ମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ଜଣେ ଥିଲେ। ଏହି ଭବିଷ୍ଯତ୍ବକ୍ତାମାନଙ୍କର ନାମ ଥିଲା ଓବେଦ୍। ଓବେଦ୍ ଶମରିଯାକୁ ଫରେି ଆସିଥିବା ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲୀୟ ସୈନ୍ଯଦଳକୁ ଭଟେିଲେ। ଓବେଦ୍ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲୀୟ ସୈନ୍ଯଦଳକୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷମାନେ ଯେଉଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କୁ ମାନିଥିଲେ, ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଦ୍ବାରା ଯିହୁଦାର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ପରାସ୍ତ କଲେ, କାରଣ ସେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପ୍ରତି ଅତ୍ଯନ୍ତ କୋରଧ କରିଛନ୍ତି। ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଯିହୁଦାର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅତ୍ଯନ୍ତ କଦର୍ୟ୍ଯ ଭାବରେ ହତ୍ଯା ଓ ଦଣ୍ଡିତ କରିଅଛ।

କିନ୍ତୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଭବିଷ୍ଯଦ୍ବକ୍ତା ମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ଜଣେ ଥିଲେ। ଏହି ଭବିଷ୍ଯତ୍ବକ୍ତାମାନଙ୍କର ନାମ ଥିଲା ଓବେଦ୍। ଓବେଦ୍ ଶମରିଯାକୁ ଫରେି ଆସିଥିବା ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲୀୟ ସୈନ୍ଯଦଳକୁ ଭଟେିଲେ। ଓବେଦ୍ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲୀୟ ସୈନ୍ଯଦଳକୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷମାନେ ଯେଉଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କୁ ମାନିଥିଲେ, ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଦ୍ବାରା ଯିହୁଦାର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ପରାସ୍ତ କଲେ, କାରଣ ସେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପ୍ରତି ଅତ୍ଯନ୍ତ କୋରଧ କରିଛନ୍ତି। ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଯିହୁଦାର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅତ୍ଯନ୍ତ କଦର୍ୟ୍ଯ ଭାବରେ ହତ୍ଯା ଓ ଦଣ୍ଡିତ କରିଅଛ।
