କିନ୍ତୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ସହିତ କରିଥିବା ଚୁକ୍ତି ହତେୁ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ଗୃହକୁ ଧ୍ବଂସ କଲେ ନାହିଁ। ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା କରିଥିଲେ ଯେ, ସେ ଦାଉଦ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଚିରକାଳ ଏକ ପ୍ରଦୀପ ଜ୍ବଳାଇ ରଖିବେ।

କିନ୍ତୁ ୟିହୋଶାବତ୍, ଯୋୟାଶ୍ ଓ ତାଙ୍କ ଧାତ୍ରୀକୁ ଅନ୍ତଃପୁରସ୍ଥ ଶଯନକକ୍ଷ ମଧିଅରେ ଲୁଚାଇ ଦେଲେ। ୟିହୋଶବତ୍ ରାଜା ଯିହାରୋମ୍ଙ୍କର କନ୍ଯା ଥିଲେ। ସେ ଯିହାୟୋଦାରଦାଙ୍କର ପତ୍ନୀ ମଧ୍ଯ ଥିଲେ। ଯିହାୟୋଦାରଦା ଜଣେ ଯାଜକ ଥିଲେ। ଆଉ ୟିହୋଶାବତ୍ ଅହସିଯଙ୍କ ଭଗ୍ନୀ ଥିଲେ। ଅଥଲିଯା ୟିହୋଶାବତ୍ଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କରିପାରିଲେ ନାହିଁ, କାରଣ ୟିହୋଶାବତ୍ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଲୁଚାଇ ଦଇେଥିଲେ।
2 Kings 8:19
ମାତ୍ର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଯିହୁଦାକୁ ବିନାଶ କଲେ ନାହିଁ, କାରଣ ସେ ଆପଣା ଦାସ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା କରି କହିଥିଲେ ତାଙ୍କରି ପରିବାରମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ଜଣେ ସର୍ବଦା ରାଜା ହବେ।
