அவன் ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாருக்கு முன்பாக நிற்கக்கடவன்; அவனிமித்தம் அந்த ஆசாரியன் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதானத்தில் வந்து, ஊரீம் என்னும் நியாயத்தினாலே ஆலோசனை கேட்கக்கடவன்; அவருடைய கட்டளையின்படியே, அவனும் அவனோடேகூட இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரராகிய சபையார் எல்லாரும் போகவும் அவருடைய கட்டளையின்படியே வரவும் வேண்டியது என்றார்.

யோசுவா எதைப்பற்றியாவது முடிவு எடுக்க வேண்டுமானால், அவன் ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசார் முன் நிற்கவேண்டும். எலெயாசார் ஊரிமைப் பயன்படுத்தி கர்த்தருடைய பதிலை அறிந்துகொள்வான். பின் கர்த்தர் சொல்வதை யோசுவாவும் இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களும் செய்ய வேண்டும். அவன், ‘போருக்குப் போங்கள்’ என்று சொன்னால் அவர்கள் போருக்குப் போவார்கள். அவன் ‘வீட்டிற்குப் போங்கள்’ என்று சொன்னால், அவர்கள் வீட்டிற்குப் போவார்கள்” என்றார்.
