Proverbs 13 - DBY (Nepali)

1 A wise son [heareth] his father's instruction; but a scorner heareth not rebuke.एक ज्ञानी छोरोले आफ्नो बाबुको कुरा राम्ररी सुन्छ, तर घमण्डी मानिसले हप्काइलाई ग्रहण गर्दैन।

2 A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth; but the soul of the treacherous, violence.तिनीहरूले भनेका कुराहरूको लागि असल मानिसहरू पुरस्कृत हुन्छन्, तर दुष्ट मानिस सधैं खराब काम मात्र गर्न चाहान्छन्।

3 He that guardeth his mouth keepeth his soul; destruction shall be to him that openeth wide his lips.एकजना मानिस जसले आफ्नो मुखलाई काबुमा राख्छ उसले आफ्नै जीवनलाई रक्षा गर्छ। तर जो मानिस केही नसम्झी अथवा बेफिक्री धेरै बोल्छ त्यसले आफैंमाथि विपत्ति र विनाश ल्याउँछ।

4 A sluggard's soul desireth and hath nothing; but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.अल्छे मानिसको धेरै चाहनहरू हुन्छन् तर उसले केही पाउँदैन तर परिश्रमी मानिस सँग उसले चाहे भन्दा ज्यादा चीज हुन्छ।

5 A righteous [man] hateth lying; but the wicked maketh himself odious and cometh to shame.धर्मी मानिसहरूले झूटलाई घृणा गर्छन्। तर दुष्ट मानिसहरूले शर्मलाग्दो अनि बेइज्जतीपूर्ण व्यवहार गर्छन्।

6 Righteousness preserveth him that is perfect in the way; but wickedness overthroweth the sinner.इमान्दरिताले निर्दोषहरूको रक्षा गर्छ, तर दुष्टताले पापीहरूलाई नष्ट पार्छ।

7 There is that feigneth himself rich, and hath nothing; there is that maketh himself poor, and hath great wealth.यस्ता मानिसहरू छन् जो धनी छौ भनी बहाना गर्छ, तर उनीहरूसँग केही पनि हुँदैन, अनि यस्ता मानिसहरू छन् जो गरिब भएको वहान गर्छन् तर उनीहरूसँग धेरै सम्पत्ति हुन्छ।

8 The ransom of a man's life is his riches; but the indigent heareth not rebuke.धनी मानिसले आफ्नो ज्यान जोगाउनुलाई धेरै धन खर्च गर्ला, तर गरीब मानिसलाई त्यस्तो अवस्था कतै आइलाग्दैन।

9 The light of the righteous rejoiceth; but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.एकजना धर्मी मानिस उज्यालोमा चम्कने दीप जस्तै हो तर दुष्ट मानिस प्रकाश नभएको दीप जस्तै हो।

10 By pride there only cometh contention; but with the well-advised is wisdom.घमण्डले झगडा मात्र बढाउँछ, तर जो मानिस नम्रतापूर्वक अरूको उपदेश सुन्छ त्यो ज्ञानी हुन्छ।

11 Wealth [gotten] by vanity diminisheth; but he that gathereth by manual-labour shall increase [it].यदि कसैले पैसा ठग्छ भने उसको पैसा चाँडै शेष हुन्छ, तर जसले आफ्नो परिश्रमले एक-एक पैसा गर्दै कमाउँछ उसको धन बढेर जान्छ।

12 Hope deferred maketh the heart sick; but the desire [that] cometh to pass is a tree of life.पूरा नभएको र स्थगित रहेको आशाले मन दुःखित बनाउँछ, तर इच्छा पूरा हुनु एउटा जीवनको वृक्ष जस्तो हो।

13 Whoso despiseth the word shall be held by it; but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.मानिस जसले अर्तीलाई आदर गर्दैन उसले आफैंमा दुःख ल्याउँछ, तर जसले आज्ञालाई आदर गर्छ ऊ पुरस्कृत हुनेछ।

14 The teaching of the wise [man] is a fountain of life, to turn away from the snares of death.बुद्धिमानी मानिसको शिक्षा जीवनको मूल हो, यसले मानिसहरूलाई मृत्युको पासोबाट फर्काउँछ।

15 Good understanding procureth favour; but the way of the treacherous is hard.बुद्धिमानीले दया पाउछ तर बेईमानको बाटो तिनीहरूको नाश हो।

16 Every prudent [man] acteth with knowledge; but the foolish layeth open [his] folly.प्रत्येक समझदार मानिसले आफ्नो ज्ञानद्वारा कर्म गर्छ। तर मूर्खले भने आफ्नो मूर्खता मात्र प्रदर्शन गर्छ।

17 A wicked messenger falleth into evil; but a faithful ambassador is health.सन्देशवाहक अविश्वासनीय छ भने त्यसले कष्ट उब्जाउँछ, तर त्यही सन्देशवाहक विश्वासी भए उसले शान्ति ल्याउँछ।

18 Poverty and shame shall be [to] him that refuseth instruction; but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.जसले अर्तीलाई ध्यान दिदैन उसले लाज र दरिद्रताको सामना गर्नु पर्छ। तर जसले शिक्षालाई स्वीकार्छ उसले सम्मान पाउँछ।

19 The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul; but it is abomination to the foolish to depart from evil.यदि कुनै मानिसले उसले चाहेको केही चिज पाउँछ भने ऊ आनन्दित हुन्छ। तर मूर्खहरू दुष्टता र खराब कर्महरूबाट फर्कन घृणा गर्छन्।

20 He that walketh with wise [men] becometh wise; but a companion of the foolish will be depraved.जो ज्ञानीको सँगतमा छ ऊ ज्ञानी हुन्छ। तर जो मूर्खसित मित्रता गर्छ उसले दु;ख पाउँछ।

21 Evil pursueth sinners; but to the righteous good shall be repaid.पापीहरू जहाँ गए पनि कष्टले पछ्याउँछ, तर असल चिजहरू धर्मी मानिसहरूको लागि एउटा इनाम को रूपमा आउँछन्।

22 A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children; but the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the righteous [man].इमान्दार तथा सज्जन मानिसले आफ्नो छोरा तथा नाति-नातिनाहरूको लागि सम्पत्ति छोडेर जान्छ, तर एउटा पापीले संचय गरेको समपत्ति धर्मीको हुन्छ।

23 Much food is in the tillage of the poor; but there is that is lost for want of judgment.गरीब मानिसले आफ्नो खेतबाट प्रशस्त बाली उब्जाउन सक्छ तर जब त्यहाँ न्याय हुँदैन भने त्यो बाली खोसिन्छ।

24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son; but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.जुन मानिसले आफ्नो छोरा-छोरीलाई सजाय दिंदैन उसले तिनीहरूलाई माया पनि गर्दैन, तर जुन मानिसले आफ्नो छोरालाई प्रेम गर्छ उसलाई अनुशासनमा राख्छ।

25 The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul; but the belly of the wicked shall want.एकजना धर्मी मानिसको प्रचुर मात्रमा खाने कुरा हुन्छ, तर दुष्ट मानिसहरूको पेट भर्न प्रयाप्त खाने कुरा हुँदैन।
