Proverbs 26 - BBE (Nepali)

1 Like snow in summer and rain when the grain is being cut, so honour is not natural for the foolish.ग्रीष्म ऋतुमा हिउँ र्बषनु राम्रो होइन, बाली काटूने समयमा पानी र्बषनु ठीक होइन अनि त्यसरी नै मूर्खलाई सम्मान गर्नु अनुचित हो।

2 As the sparrow in her wandering and the swallow in her flight, so the curse does not come without a cause.तिमीले कसैको हानी नगरी उसले तिमीलाई सराप्छ भने उसको त्यो श्राप तिमी माथिबाट कुनै चंचल चरा उडेर गए जस्तै हो।

3 A whip for the horse, a mouth-bit for the ass, and a rod for the back of the foolish.जसरी घोडा चाबुकले काबुमा आउँछ, खच्चर लगामले आउँछ, त्यसरीनै एकजना मूर्ख डण्डाले काबूमा आउँछ।

4 Do not give to the foolish man a foolish answer, or you will be like him.मूर्खलाई त्यसको मूर्खता अनुसारको उत्तर नदेऊ, नत्रभने तिमी पनि मूर्ख हुनेछौ।

5 Give a foolish man a foolish answer, or he will seem wise to himself.एउटा मूर्खलाई उसको मूर्खतापूर्ण उत्तर देऊ तर पनि उसले आफैंलाई ज्ञानी सम्झिन्छ।

6 He who sends news by the hand of a foolish man is cutting off his feet and drinking in damage.मूर्खलाई दूत बनाई पठाउनु, आफ्नो घुँडामा बन्चरोले हान्नु अथवा जानी-जानी विपद ल्याउनु जस्तो हुन्छ।

7 The legs of one who has no power of walking are hanging loose; so is a wise saying in the mouth of the foolish.मूर्खको मुखमा एउटा हितोपदेश हुनु लङ्गडो मानिसका झुण्डिएका लुला गोडा जस्तै हो।

8 Giving honour to a foolish man is like attempting to keep a stone fixed in a cord.मूर्खलाई सम्मान गर्नु त्यति नै खराब हो जति एउटा घुयेंत्रोमा ढुङ्गा बाँध्नु हो।

9 Like a thorn which goes up into the hand of a man overcome by drink, so is a wise saying in the mouth of a foolish man.मूर्खले केही हितोपदेश कुरा गर्न चाहानु, मातेर चुर भएको मानिसले हातमा बिजेको काँडा निकाल्नु खोज्नु जस्तै हो।

10 Like an archer wounding all who go by, is a foolish man overcome by drink.कुनै मूर्खलाई अथवा नचिनेको मानिसलाई काम अह्राउनु विपद मोल्नु हो। तिमीलाई थाहा हुँदैन कता नोक्सान हुन्छ।

11 Like a dog going back to the food which he has not been able to keep down, is the foolish man doing his foolish acts over again.कुकुरले केही खाएर बिमार भयो भने त्यसले उल्टी गर्छ औ केही समय पछि त्यही उल्टी खान्छ। मूर्ख मानिस पनि त्यस्तै हो औ त्यसले पनि एउटै काम घरी-घरी गरिरहन्छ।

12 Have you seen a man who seems to himself to be wise? There is more hope for the foolish than for him.यदि कोही मानिस ज्ञानी होइन तर आफैंलाई ज्ञानी मान्छ भने त्यो जत्तिको मूर्ख अर्को हुँदैन।ज्

13 The hater of work says, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets.अल्छेले भन्छ, “सडकमा सिंह बसेकोछ, यसकारण म घरबाट निस्कन सक्तिनँ।”

14 A door is turned on its pillar, and the hater of work on his bed.अल्छे मानिस कही जाँदैन, ढोका आफ्नो कब्जामा अल्झेर यता उति भइरहेको झैं, अल्छे आफ्नो ओछ्यानमा यता उति पल्टि रहन्छ।

15 The hater of work puts his hand deep into the basin: lifting it again to his mouth is a weariness to him.अल्छे मानिसलाई यति अल्छी लाग्छ कि उसलाई आफ्नो थालबाट गाँस उठाउनु पनि गाह्रो पर्छ।

16 The hater of work seems to himself wiser than seven men who are able to give an answer with good sense.एउटा अल्छेले आफैंलाई बुद्धिमान सम्झन्छ। उसले आफैंलाई विवेकपूर्ण जवाफ दिने ती सात जाना बुद्धिमान मानिसहरू भन्दा पनि ज्ञानी सम्झन्छ।

17 He who gets mixed up in a fight which is not his business, is like one who takes a dog by the ears while it is going by.दुईजना मानिसहरूको विवादमा पक्ष लिनु त्यति नै विपद जनक हो जति गल्लीमा कुकुरको कान तानेर हिडनु।

18 As one who is off his head sends about flaming sticks and arrows of death,छिमेकीलाई धोका दिनु अनि त्यस पछि त्यो मैले दिल्लगी गरेको”

19 So is the man who gets the better of his neighbour by deceit, and says, Am I not doing so in sport?भनेर भन्ने मानिस एकजना पागल मानिस जसले प्राणनाशक काँडहरू हान्छ।

20 Without wood, the fire goes out; and where there is no secret talk, argument is ended.जसरी दाउराविना आगो बल्दैन त्यसरी नै बदनाम गराउनेलाई हटाइन्छ भने झगडा आफैं अन्त हुनेछ।

21 Like breath on coals and wood on fire, so a man given to argument gets a fight started.जस्तो कोइलाले अंगारलाई अनि दाउराले ज्वालालाई चम्काउँछ त्यस्तै झगडालु मानिसले झगडा चम्काउँछ।

22 The words of one who says evil of his neighbour secretly are like sweet food, they go down into the inner parts of the stomach.बद्नाम गराउने शब्दहरू त्यतिकै स्वादिष्ट हुन्छन् जतिको मानिसहरूको पेटमा जाने भोजन हुन्छ।

23 Smooth lips and an evil heart are like a vessel of earth plated with silver waste.माटोको भाँडोमा चाँदीको जलप लगाएझैं दुष्ट जाली मानिसको ओंठमा चिप्लो कुरा हुन्छ।

24 With his lips the hater makes things seem what they are not, but deceit is stored up inside him;द्वेषपूर्ण मानिसले उसका मिठा कुराहरूले आफ्नो दोषलाई ढाक्छ तर उसले दोषलाई आफ्नो हृदयमा पालेको हुन्छ।

25 When he says fair words, have no belief in him; for in his heart are seven evils:उसको मिठो कुरामा विश्वास नगर, किनभने उस भित्र सातओटा घिनलाग्दो विचारहरू जागिरहेको हुन्छन्।

26 Though his hate is covered with deceit, his sin will be seen openly before the meeting of the people.उसले उसको द्वेष छलहरूद्वारा लुकाउन सकेतापर्नी उसको दुष्टता सबैको सामुन्ने प्रकट हुन्छ।

27 He who makes a hole in the earth will himself go falling into it: and on him by whom a stone is rolled the stone will come back again.अर्कालाई जाक्नु खाडल खन्ने मानिस आफैं त्यही खाडलमा पर्छ। अरूलाई ढुङ्ग पल्टाउने मानिस आफैं ढुङ्गले चेपिएर मर्छ।

28 A false tongue has hate for those who have clean hearts, and a smooth mouth is a cause of falling.जुन मानिसले झूटो बोल्छ, त्यसले आफूले हानि पुर्याएको मनिसहरूलाई नै घिनाउँछ, अनि एउटा मानिस जसले चाप्लुसी गर्छ उसले आफैंलाई हानी गर्छ।
