1 And the Lord said to Moses in the waste land of Sinai, in the Tent of meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they came out of the land of Egypt,सीनै मरूभूमिको भेट हुने पालमा इस्राएलीहरूले मिश्र देश छोडेको दोस्रो वर्षको दोस्रो महीनाको पहिलो दिन मोशासित परमप्रभुले कुरा गर्नुभयो।

2 Take the full number of the children of Israel, by their families, and by their fathers' houses, every male by name;“उहाँले भन्नुभयो, तिनीहरूको परिवार र कुल समूह सहित प्रत्येक व्यक्तिको नाम लेखेर इस्राएली मानिसहरूको गन्ती गर।

3 All those of twenty years old and over, who are able to go to war in Israel, are to be numbered by you and Aaron.हारून र तिमीले बीस वर्ष र त्यो भन्दा वेशी उमेर भएकाहरू सेनामा जान सक्छन् प्रत्येकको गन्ती गर।

4 And to give you help, take one man from every tribe, the head of his father's house.प्रत्येक कुलका एक एक व्यक्तिले तिमीलाई सहायता गर्नेछन्। प्रत्येक कुलबाट एक जना व्यक्ति अगुवा हुनेछ। यी निम्न लिखित व्यक्तिहरूले तिमीलाई सहायता गर्नेछन्।

5 These are the names of those who are to be your helpers: from Reuben, Elizur, the son of Shedeur;रूबेनको कुलबाट शदेऊरका छोरा एलीसूर

6 From Simeon, Shelumiel, the son of Zurishaddai;शिमोनको कुलबाट सूरीशद्दैको छोरो शलूमीएल;

7 From Judah, Nahshon, the son of Amminadab;यहूदाको कुलबाट अम्मीनादाबको छोरो नहशोन;

8 From Issachar, Nethanel, the son of Zuar;इस्साकारको कुलबाट सूआरको छोरो नतनेल;

9 From Zebulun, Eliab, the son of Helon;जबूलूनको कुलबाट हेलोनको छोरो एलीआब;

10 Of the children of Joseph: from Ephraim, Elishama, the son of Ammihud; from Manasseh, Gamaliel, the son of Pedahzur,यूसुफको उत्तराधिकारीहरूबाट; एप्रैमको कुलबाट अम्मीहूदको छोरो एलीशामा मनश्शेको कुलबाट पदासूरको छोरो गमलिएल;

11 From Benjamin, Abidan, the son of Gideoni;बिन्यामीनको कुलबाट गिदोनीको छोरो अबीदान;

12 From Dan, Ahiezer, the son of Ammi-shaddai;दानको कुलबाट अम्मीशद्दैको छोरो अहीएजेर;

13 From Asher, Pagiel, the son of Ochran;आशेरको कुलबाट ओक्रानको छोरो पगीएल;

14 From Gad, Eliasaph, the son of Reuel;गादको कुलबाट रूएलको छोरो एल्यासाप;

15 From Naphtali, Ahira, the son of Enan.नप्तालीको कुलबाट एनानको छोरो अहीरा।”

16 These are the men named out of all the people, chiefs of their fathers' houses, heads of the tribes of Israel.यी सबै मानिसहरू यिनीहरूको कुल समूहका अगुवाहरू थिए र मानिसहरूले नै यिनीहरूलाई आफ्नो आफ्नो कुल समूहका अगुवा बनाए।

17 And Moses and Aaron took these men, marked out by name;तब मोशा र हारूनले ती मानिसहरूलाई लिए जसलाई अगुवा बनाएका थिए।

18 And they got together all the people on the first day of the second month; and everyone made clear his family and his father's house, by the number of the names, from twenty years old and over.दोस्रो महीनाको पहिलो दिन तिनीहरूले सबै समुदायलाई एकै चोटी बोलाएर पुस्ता अनि तिनीहरूको सन्तानहरूको नाम दर्त्ता गरेर बीस र बीस भन्दा वेशी उमेरको प्रत्येक व्यक्तिको सूची तयार गरे।

19 As the Lord had given orders to Moses, so they were numbered by him in the waste place of Sinai.परमप्रभुले मोशालाई दिनु भएको आज्ञा अनुसार तिनले मानिसहरूको गन्ती सीनै मरूभूमिमा गरे।

20 The generations of the sons of Reuben, the oldest son of Israel, were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years old and over, who was able to go to war;तिनीहरूले यस्तो प्रकारले संख्या गन्ती गरे इस्राएलको प्रथम जाति रूबेन र तिनको परिवारको गणना गरे। बीस र बीस वर्ष भन्दा वेशी उमेरका व्यक्तिहरू जो सेनामा जान सक्थे तिनीहरूको नामको सूची बनाइयो। तिनीहरूको पिता-पुर्खाको कुल र परिवार अनुसार नाम दर्त्ता गरियो।

21 Forty-six thousand, five hundred of the tribe of Reuben were numbered.रूबेनको कुलबाट गन्ती गरिएको संख्या 46,500 थियो।

22 The generations of the sons of Simeon were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years old and over, who was able to go to war;तिनीहरूले शिमोनको कुलबाट गन्ती गरे-बीस वर्ष र उँभोका मानिसहरू जो सेनामा जान सक्थे तिनीहरू प्रत्येकको नाम पिता-पुर्खाको कुल र परिवार अनुसार दर्त्ता गरियो।

23 Fifty-nine thousand, three hundred of the tribe of Simeon were numbered.शिमोनको कुलबाट 59,300 व्यक्तिको गन्ती गर्यो।

24 The generations of the sons of Gad were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years old and over who was able to go to war;तिनीहरूले गादको कुलबाट गन्ती गरे बीस वर्ष र उँभोका मानिसहरू जो सेनामा जान सक्थे तिनीहरू प्रत्येकको नाम पिता-पुर्खाको कुल र परिवार अनुसार दर्त्ता गरियो।

25 Forty-five thousand, six hundred and fifty of the tribe of Gad were numbered.गादको कुलबाट 45,650 व्यक्तिको गन्ती गर्यो।

26 The generations of the sons of Judah were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years old and over who was able to go to war;तिनीहरूले यहूदाको कुलबाट गन्ती गरे बीस वर्ष र उँभोका मानिसहरू जो सेनामा जान सक्थे तिनीहरू प्रत्येकको नाम पिता-पुर्खाको कुल र परिवार अनुसार दर्ता गरियो।

27 Seventy-four thousand, six hundred of the tribe of Judah were numbered.यहूदाको कुलबाट 74,600 व्यक्तिको गन्ती गर्यो।

28 The generations of the sons of Issachar were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years old and over who was able to go to war;तिनीहरूले इस्साकारको कुलबाट गन्ती गरे बीस वर्ष र उँभोका मानिसहरू जो सेनामा जान सक्थे तिनीहरू प्रत्येकको नाम पिता-पुर्खाको कुल र परिवार अनुसार दर्त्ता गरियो।

29 Fifty-four thousand, four hundred of the tribe of Issachar were numbered.इस्साकारको कुलबाट 54,400 व्यक्तिको गन्ती गर्यो।

30 The generations of the sons of Zebulun were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years old and over who was able to go to war;तिनीहरूले जबूलूनको कुलको गन्ती गरे बीस वर्ष र उँभोका मानिसहरू जो सेनामा जान सक्थे तिनीहरू प्रत्येकको नाम पिता-पुर्खाको कुल र परिवार अनुसार दर्त्ता गरियो।

31 Fifty-seven thousand, four hundred of the tribe of Zebulun were numbered.जबूलूनको कुलबाट 57,400 व्यक्तिहरूको गन्ती गरियो।

32 The generations of the sons of Joseph were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years old and over who was able to go to war;तिनीहरूले एप्रैमको कुल समूहबाट गन्ती गरे। (एप्रैम-यूसुफको छोरो।) बीस वर्ष र उँभोका मानिसहरू जो सेनामा जान सक्थे तिनीहरू प्रत्येकको नाम पिता-पुर्खाको कुल र परिवार अनुसार दर्त्ता गरियो।

33 Forty thousand, five hundred of the tribe of Ephraim were numbered.एप्रैमको कुलमा गन्ती गरिएको व्यक्तिहरूको सख्या 40,500 थियो।

34 The generations of the sons of Manasseh were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years old and over who was able to go to war;तिनीहरूले मनश्शे कुलका मानिसहरूको गन्ती गरे। (मनश्शे पनि यूसुफका छोरा थिए।) बीस वर्ष र उँभोका मानिसहरू जो सेनामा जान सक्थे तिनीहरू प्रत्येकको नाम पिता-पुर्खाको कुल र परिवार अनुसार गणना गरियो।

35 Thirty-two thousand, two hundred of the tribe of Manasseh were numbered.मनश्शेको कुलमा गन्ती गरिएको मानिसहरूको संख्या 32,200 थियो।

36 The generations of the sons of Benjamin were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years old and over who was able to go to war;तिनीहरूले बिन्यामीन कुलका मानिसहरूको गन्ती गरे। बीस वर्ष र उँभोका मानिसहरू जो सेनामा जान सक्थे तिनीहरू प्रत्येकको नाम पिता-पुर्खाको कुल र परिवार अनुसार गणना गरियो।

37 Thirty-five thousand, four hundred of the tribe of Benjamin were numbered.बिन्यामीनको कुलमा गन्ती गरिएका मानिसहरूको संख्या 35,400 थियो।

38 The generations of the sons of Dan were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years and over who was able to go to war;तिनीहरूले दान कुलका मानिसहरूको गन्ती गरे। बीस वर्ष र उँभोका सबै मानिसहरू जो सेनामा जान सक्थे तिनीहरू प्रत्येकको नाम पिता-पुर्खाको कुल र परिवार अनुसार गन्ती गरियो।

39 Sixty-two thousand, seven hundred of the tribe of Dan were numbered.दानको कुलमा गन्ती गरिएका मानिसहरूको संख्या 62,700 थियो।

40 The generations of the sons of Asher were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years old and over who was able to go to war;तिनीहरूले आशेर कुलका मानिसहरूको गन्ती गरे। बीस वर्ष र उँभोका मानिसहरू जो सेनामा जान सक्थे तिनीहरू प्रत्येकको नाम पुर्खाको कुल र परिवार अनुसार गणना गरियो।

41 Forty-one thousand, five hundred of the tribe of Asher were numbered.आशेर कुलमा गणना गरिएका मानिसहरूको संख्या 41,500 थियो।

42 The generations of the sons of Naphtali were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years old and over who was able to go to war;नप्ताली कुलका मानिसहरूको तिनीहरूले गणना गरे। बीस वर्ष र उँभोका मानिसहरू जो सेनामा जानु सक्थे तिनीहरू प्रत्येकको नाम पुर्खाको कुल र परिवार अनुसार गणना गरियो।

43 Fifty-three thousand, four hundred of the tribe of Naphtali were numbered.नप्ताली कुलमा गणना गरिएको मानिसहरूको संख्या 53,400 थियो।

44 These are they who were numbered by Moses and Aaron and by the twelve chiefs of Israel, one from every tribe.मोशा, हारून र इस्राएलका बाह्र जना अगुवाहरूले यी मानिसहरूको गन्ती गरे। (त्यहाँ प्रत्येक कुल समूहबाट एक जना अगुवा थिए।)

45 So all those who were numbered of the children of Israel, by their families, all those of twenty years old and over who were able to go to war,तिनीहरूले बीस वर्ष र उँभोका मानिसहरू जो सेनामा जान सक्थे तिनीहरूको गन्ती गरे। तिनीहरू प्रत्येकको आफ्नो-आफ्नो परिवार अनुसार गणना गरियो।

46 Were six hundred and three thousand, five hundred and fifty.तिनीहरूको जम्मा संख्या 6,03,550 थियो।

47 But the Levites, of the tribe of their fathers, were not numbered among them.लेवी कुल समूहका परिवारका मानिसहरूको गणना इस्राएलका अन्य मानिसहरूसित गरिएन।

48 For the Lord said to Moses,परमप्रभुले मोशालाई भन्नुभएको थियोः

49 Only the tribe of Levi is not to be numbered among the children of Israel,“लेवीको कुल समूहका मानिसहरूको गणना नगर्नु अथवा तिनीहरूलाई इस्राएलका अरू मानिसहरूसित नमिलाउनु।

50 But to them you are to give the care of the Tent of meeting with its vessels and everything in it: they are to take up the Tent, and be responsible for everything to do with it, and put up their tents round it.तर तिमीले लेवीहरूलाई करारको पवित्र पाल र यसका सबै वस्तुहरू हेरचाह गर्नुका निम्ति नियुक्त गर्यौ। तिनीहरूले पवित्र पाल र यसका सबै वस्तुहरू बोक्नु पर्छ। अनि तिनीहरूले पवित्र पालको सेवा गर्नुपर्छ र तिनीहरूले उनीहरूको छाउनी यसकै वरिपरि बनाउनु पर्छ।

51 And when the Tent of meeting goes forward, the Levites are to take it down; and when it is to be put up, they are to do it: any strange person who comes near it is to be put to death.जब तिमीले पवित्र पाल सार्थ्यो लेवीहरूले यसलाई तल झार्नु पर्थ्यो जब तिमीहरू रोकिने छौ, लेवीहरूले यसलाई स्थापित गर्नु पर्थ्यो। कुनै जो विदेशी नजिक आउँछ त्यसलाई मार्नु पर्छ।

52 The children of Israel are to put up their tents, every man in his tent-circle round his flag.इस्राएलीहरूले आफ्नो आफ्नो दल समूह भित्र र आफ्नै झण्डाको छेउ छाउमा शिविर बनाऊन्।

53 But the tents of the Levites are to be round the Tent of meeting, so that wrath may not come on the children of Israel: the Tent of meeting is to be in the care of the Levites.तर लेवीहरूले तिनीहरूका छाउनी पवित्र पालकै वरिपरि लगाउन् र यसलाई रक्षा गर्नु पर्छ ताकि करारको पवित्र पाल सुरक्षित रहोस् र परमेश्वरको रिसको प्रकोप इस्राएली समुदायमाथि नपरोस्।”

54 So the children of Israel did as the Lord had given orders to Moses.यसरी इस्राएलका मानिसहरूले परमप्रभु द्वारा मोशालाई दिनु भएको सबै आज्ञाहरू पालन गरे।
