1 The first words of the good news of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.येशूख्रीष्ट, परमेश्वरको पुत्रको सुसमाचार, अगमवक्ता यशैयाहले भनेका घट्नाबाटै आरम्भ हुन्छ।

2 Even as it is said in the book of Isaiah the prophet, See, I send my servant before your face, who will make ready your way;यशैयाहले लेखेकाछन्:“सुन। म मेरो दूतलाई तिम्रो अघि-अघि पठाउँछु, जसले तिम्रो बाटो तयार पार्नेछन्।”

3 The voice of one crying in the waste land, Make ready the way of the Lord, make his roads straight;‘उजाड-स्थानमा कोही कराईहेकोछः परमप्रभुको बाटो तयार पार, उहाँका गोरेटोहरू सोझो बनाओ।’”

4 John came, and gave baptism in the waste land, preaching baptism as a sign of forgiveness of sin for those whose hearts were changed.बप्तिस्मा दिने यूहन्ना आए अनि उजाड-स्थानमा मानिसहरूको बप्तिस्मा गर्ने काम गरे। तिनले मानिसहरूलाई भने आफ्नो जीवन परिवर्तन गर्न चाहेको देखाउनलाई बप्तिस्मादिनु पर्छ। यसरी तिनीहरुको पापहरूको क्षमा हुनेछन्।

5 And there went out to him all the people of Judaea, and all those of Jerusalem, and they were given baptism by him in the river Jordan, saying that they were sinners.यहूदिया र यरूशलेमका सम्पूर्ण मानिसहरू यूहन्ना कहाँ गए। तिनीहरूले आफूले गरेका पापहरूको पश्चाताप गरे, अनि तीनीहरूलाई यर्दन नदीमा यूहन्नाले बप्तिस्मा दिए।

6 And John was clothed in camel's hair, with a leather band about him; and his food was locusts and honey.यूहन्नाले ऊँटको रौंबाट तयार गरिएका लुगाफाटा पहिरिएका थिए र उनको कम्मरमा छालाको पेटी थियो। तिनले सलह र वन-मह खान्थे।

7 And he said to them all, There is one coming after me who is greater than I, whose shoes I am not good enough to undo.त्यसपछि यूहन्नाले मानिसहरूमा प्रचार शुरू गरेः मभन्दा पछि एक मानिस आउनु हुनेछ, उहाँ मभन्दा महान हुनुहुन्छ। म निहुरेर उहाँको जुत्ताको फित्ता खोलिदिने योग्यको छैनँ।

8 I have given you baptism with water, but he will give you baptism with the Holy Spirit.म पानीद्वारा तिमीहरूलाई बप्तिस्मा दिन्छु तर उहाँले त तिमीहरूलाई पवित्र आत्माले बप्तिस्मा दिनुहुनेछ।

9 And it came about in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was given baptism by John in the Jordan.त्यसै बेला यूहन्ना भएको स्थानमा गालीलको नासरत भन्ने शहरबाट येशू आउनु भयो। यर्दन नदीमा यूहन्नाले येशूलाई बप्तिस्मा दिए।

10 And straight away, coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens broken open and the Spirit coming down on him as a dove:जब येशू पानीदेखि बाहिर निस्कनु हुँदै थियो, उहाँले आकाश खुल्ला देख्नुभयो। पवित्र आत्मा ढुकुरको रूप लिएर येशूकहाँ ओर्लिनु भयो।

11 And a voice came out of heaven, You are my dearly loved Son, with whom I am well pleased.स्वर्गबाट एउटा अवाज आयो अनि भन्योः तिमी मेरा पुत्र हौ, अनि म तिमीलाई प्रेम गर्दछु। म तीमीसँग धेरै प्रसन्न छु।

12 And straight away the Spirit sent him out into the waste land.त्यसपछि पवित्र आत्माले येशूलाई मरूभूमितर्फ पठाऊनुभयो।

13 And he was in the waste land for forty days, being tested by Satan; and he was with the beasts; and the angels took care of him.चालीसदिनसम्म येशू त्यही मरूभूमिमा हुनुहुन्थ्यो। उहाँ त्यहाँ वन पशुहरूसंग हुनुहुन्थयो। जबसम्म येशू मरूभूमिमा हुनुहुन्थ्यो, उहाँ शैतानको परीक्षामा पर्नु भयो। स्वर्गदूतहरू आए अनि येशूलाई मदत गरे।

14 Now after John had been put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the good news of God,त्यसपछि यूहन्नालाई कैदमा पारियो। येशू गालील जानुभयो अनि परमेश्वरको सुसमाचार प्रचार गर्नुभयो।

15 And saying, The time has come, and the kingdom of God is near: let your hearts be turned from sin and have faith in the good news.येशूले भन्नुभयो, यही नै उचित समय हो। परमेश्वरको राज्य नजीक आएको छ। तिमीहरूले आफ्नो रहन सहन र हृदय परिवर्तन गर, अनि सुसमाचारमा विश्वास गर।

16 And going by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon, and Andrew, the brother of Simon, putting a net into the sea: for they were fishermen.गालील तालको किनार भएर येशू हिँडिरहनु भएको थियो। येशूले शिमोन र उसको भाइ अन्द्रियासलाई देख्नुभयो। यी दुवैजना माछा पक्रनेहरू थिए अनि पोखरीमा माछा समात्न जाल हान्दै थिए।

17 And Jesus said to them, Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.येशूले तिनीहरूलाई भन्नुभयो, “आओ अनि मसँग हिँड, म तिमीहरूलाई बेग्लै प्रकारको माछा पक्रनेहरू बनाउँछु। तिमीहरू मानिसहरू बटुल्ने काम गर्नेछौ माछाहरू होइन।”

18 And they went straight from their nets, and came after him.त्यसकारण शिमोन र अन्द्रियासले तिनीहरूको जाल फ्याँकिदिए अनि येशूलाई पछ्याए।

19 And going on a little farther, he saw James, the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who were in their boat stitching up their nets.येशू गालीलको ताल भएर केही पर गइरहनु भएको थियो। उहाँले अरू जब्दीका दुइजना छोराहरू दाज्यू-भाइ याकूब र यूहन्नालाई देख्नु भयो, तिनिहरू आफ्नो डुङ्गामा चढेर माछा मार्न जाल तयार गर्दैथिए।

20 And he said, Come after me: and they went away from their father Zebedee, who was in the boat with the servants, and came after him.तिनीहरूका बाबु जब्दी र उनका काम गर्नेहरू पनि तिनीहरूसित डुङ्गामा नै थिए। जब येशूले यी दूई दाज्यू-भाइलाई देख्नुभयो, उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई आफूकहाँ बोलाउनु भयो र तिनीहरु आफ्ना बाबुलाई छोडेर येशूकहाँ आए।

21 And they came to Capernaum; and on the Sabbath he went into the Synagogue and gave teaching.येशू अनि उहाँका चेलाहरू कफर्नहुममा जानुभयो। त्यसैबेला उहाँले विश्रामको दिनमा सभाघरमा पसी मानिसहरूलाई शिक्षा दिनलाग्नु भयो।

22 And they were full of wonder at his teaching, because he gave it as one having authority, and not like the scribes.त्यहाँ मानिसहरू येशूको उपदेश सुनेर चकित भए। व्यवस्थाका शिक्षकहरूले झैं येशूले तिनीहरूलाई सिकाउनु भएन। येशूले तिनीहरूलाई कुनै अधिकार भएको मानिसले जस्तो सिकाउनुहुन्थ्यो।

23 And there was in their Synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he gave a cry,जतिबेला येशू सभाघरमा हुनुहुन्थ्यो, त्यसबेला एकजना दुष्टात्मा भएको मानिस त्यहाँ थियो।

24 Saying, What have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? have you come to put an end to us? I see well who you are, the Holy One of God.त्यो चिच्यायो, “हे नासरतका येशू, हामीदेखि तपाईं के चाहनुहुन्छ के तपाईं हामीलाई सर्वनाश गर्न आउनुभएको हो? म तपाईंलाई चिन्छु तपाईं परमेश्वरका परम पवित्र जन हुनुहुन्छ।”

25 And Jesus said to him sharply, Be quiet, and come out of him.येशूले दुष्ट आत्मालाई हकार्नु भयो अनि भन्नुभयो, “चूपलाग्!” त्यस मानिसबाट निस्केर बाहिर आइज!”

26 And the unclean spirit, shaking him violently, and crying with a loud voice, came out of him.त्यो दुष्टात्माले उसलाई जोडले झट्काएको थियो। त्यसैबेला त्यो दुष्टात्मा ठूलो स्वरले चिच्याएर त्यसबाट बाहिर निस्क्यो।

27 And they were all greatly surprised, so that they put questions to one another, saying, What is this? a new teaching! with authority he gives orders even to the unclean spirits, and they do what he says.सबै मानिसहरू छक्क परे, र तिनीहरूले एका-अर्कामा भन्नलागे, “यहाँ के भइरहेको छ? शायद यो मानिसले केही नयाँ कुरो सिकाईरहेका होलान् उनले, अधिकारपूर्वक सिकाइरहेको भएको छ। उनले दुष्टात्मालाई आज्ञा गर्नसक्नु हुन्छ, अनि त्यो दुष्ट आत्माले उहाँको आज्ञा पालन गर्छ।

28 And news of him went out quickly everywhere into all parts of Galilee round about.अनि यसो हुने बित्तिकै चाँडै नै येशूको खबर गालीलको सबै मुलुकभरि जाताततै फैलियो।

29 And when they came out of the Synagogue, they went into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.येशू अनि उहाँका चेलाहरूले सभाघर छोडनुभयो। तिनीहरू सबै याकूब र यूहन्नासँग सिमोन र अन्द्रियासको घरमा जानुभयो।

30 Now Simon's wife's mother was ill, with a burning heat; and they gave him word of her:सिमोनकी सासु जरोले थलिएर ओछ्यान परेकी थिइन्। मानिसहरूले येशूलाई तिनको बारेमा सबै कुरा सुनाए।

31 And he came and took her by the hand, lifting her up; and she became well, and took care of their needs.त्यसपछि येशू तिनको ओछ्यान छेउमा जानुभयो। येशूले ती स्त्रीको हात समात्नु भयो, अनि तिनलाई उठ्न सहायता गर्नुभयो। यसो गर्ने बित्तिकै जरो हरायो। तिनी जाति भइन्। त्यसपछि तिनले उहाँको सेवा गरिन्।

32 And in the evening, at sundown, they took to him all who were diseased, and those who had evil spirits.त्यस साँझमा जब सूर्य अस्तायो, मानिसहरूले अनेकौं रोगीहरूलाई येशूकहाँ ल्याए। तिनीहरूले भूत लागेकाहरूलाई पनि ल्याए।

33 And all the town had come together at the door.शहरका सारा मानिसहरू घरको ढोकामा भेला भएका थिए।

34 And a number, who were ill with different diseases, he made well, and sent out evil spirits; but he did not let the evil spirits say anything, because they had knowledge of him.येशूले बेग्ला-बेग्लै रोग लागेकाहरू ससबैलाई निको पार्नुभयो। तर येशूले भूतहरूलाई बोल्न दिनु भएन, किनभने भूतहरूले उहाँ को हुनुहुन्छ भनेर जान्दथ्यो।

35 And in the morning, a long time before daylight, he got up and went out to a quiet place, and there he gave himself up to prayer.भोलिपल्ट बिहान, येशू चाँडै उठनुभयो। उहाँले घर छोडनुभयो, विहान अंध्यारोमा नै येशू एकान्तमा जानूभयो अनि प्रार्थना गर्न लाग्नु भयो।

36 And Simon and those who were with him came after him.केही समयपछि सिमोन र उनका साथीहरू येशूलाई खोज्न गए।

37 And when they came up with him, they said to him, Everyone is looking for you.तिनीहरूले येशूलाई भेटे अनि भन्नलागे, सबै मानिसहरू तपाईंलाई नै हेरिरहेका छन।

38 And he said to them, Let us go to other parts into the nearest towns, so that I may give teaching there, because for this purpose I came.येशूले भन्नुभयो, “हामी यहाँ वरिपरिका अरु शहरहरूमा जानुपर्छ। त्यसर्थ ती ठाउँहरूमा पनि म प्रचार गर्न सक्नेछु। यहि काम गर्नु म आएको हूँ।”

39 And he went into their Synagogues in every part of Galilee, preaching and driving out evil spirits.अनि येशूले गालीलको सबै ठाउँहरूमा यात्रा गर्नुभयो। उहाँले तिनीहरूका सभाघरहरूमा प्रचार गर्नुभयो अनि मानिसहरूमा लागेका भूतहरू भगाइदिनु भयो।येशूद्वारा एकजना रोगी निको भयो

40 And a leper came to him and, going down on his knees before him, made a request, saying, If it is your pleasure, you have the power to make me clean.एकजना कुष्ठरोग लागेको मानिस येशूकहाँ आयो। त्यसले घुँडा टेकेर येशूलाई बिन्ती गर्न लाग्यो, तपाईंमा त्यस्तो शक्ति छ, यदि तपाईंले चाहनु भयो भने म निको हुनसक्छु।

41 And being moved with pity, he put out his hand, and touching him said to him, It is my pleasure; be made clean.येशूलाई त्यस मानिसप्रति दया लग्यो। उहाँले त्यस मानिसलाई छुनुभयो। उहाँले भन्नुभयो, “म तिमीलाई निको पार्न चाहन्छु। निको होऊ।”

42 And straight away the disease went from him, and he was made clean.त्यसपछि त्यस मानिसको कुष्ठरोग हरायो, अनि त्यो निको भयो।

43 And he sent him away, saying to him very sharply,येशूले त्यस मानिसलाई जाने आज्ञा दिनुभयो। उहाँले त्यसलाई कडा चेतावनी पनि दिनुभयो।

44 See that you say nothing to any man: but go and let the priest see you, and make yourself clean by an offering of the things ordered by Moses, for a witness to them.येसूले भन्नुभयो, होशियार बन तिम्रो निम्ति मैले गरेको काम बारे कसैलाई केही नभन्नू। तर पूजाहारीकहाँ गएर आफूलाईं देखाऊ, अनि परमेश्वरलाई केही भेटी चाढाऊ किनभने तिमी निको भएका छौ। मोशाले बताए बमोजिम भेटी चढाऊ। त्यसबाट मानिसहरूलाई तिमी निको भयौ भन्ने थाहा हुनेछ।

45 But he went out, and made it public, giving an account of it everywhere, so that Jesus was no longer able to go openly into a town, but was outside in the waste land; and they came to him from every part.तर त्यो मानिस त्यहाँबाट गयो अनि यशूले आफूलाई निको पार्नु भएको बारेमा जाताततै सबै मानिसहरूसंग कुरा गर्यो। अनि येशूको बारेमा खबर फैलियो। यसकारण येशूले खुल्लम खुल्ला शहरमा प्रवेश गर्न सक्नु भएन। येशू मानिसहरू नबस्ने ठाउँतिर जानुभयो। तर सबै शहरहरूबाट मानिसहरू येशूलाई भेट्न आए।
