मोशा परमप्रभुका दास थिए। नूनका छोरा यहोशू मोशाका सहायक थिए। मोशाको मृत्यु भए पछि, परमप्रभु यहोशूसित बात गर्नुभयो। परमप्रभुले भन्नुभयो,

யோசுவா எதைப்பற்றியாவது முடிவு எடுக்க வேண்டுமானால், அவன் ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசார் முன் நிற்கவேண்டும். எலெயாசார் ஊரிமைப் பயன்படுத்தி கர்த்தருடைய பதிலை அறிந்துகொள்வான். பின் கர்த்தர் சொல்வதை யோசுவாவும் இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களும் செய்ய வேண்டும். அவன், ‘போருக்குப் போங்கள்’ என்று சொன்னால் அவர்கள் போருக்குப் போவார்கள். அவன் ‘வீட்டிற்குப் போங்கள்’ என்று சொன்னால், அவர்கள் வீட்டிற்குப் போவார்கள்” என்றார்.
