דְּבַר word deh-VAHR יְהוָה֙ of yeh-VA אֲשֶׁ֣ר the uh-SHER הָיָ֔ה Lord ha-YA אֶל that el יוֹאֵ֖ל came yoh-ALE בֶּן to ben פְּתוּאֵֽל׃ Joel peh-too-ALE -
שִׁמְעוּ this, sheem-OO זֹאת֙ ye zote הַזְּקֵנִ֔ים old ha-zeh-kay-NEEM וְהַֽאֲזִ֔ינוּ men, veh-ha-uh-ZEE-noo כֹּ֖ל and kole יוֹשְׁבֵ֣י give yoh-sheh-VAY הָאָ֑רֶץ ear, ha-AH-rets הֶהָ֤יְתָה all heh-HA-yeh-ta זֹּאת֙ ye zote בִּֽימֵיכֶ֔ם inhabitants bee-may-HEM וְאִ֖ם of veh-EEM בִּימֵ֥י the bee-MAY אֲבֹֽתֵיכֶֽם׃ land. uh-VOH-tay-HEM -
עָלֶ֖יהָ ye ah-LAY-ha לִבְנֵיכֶ֣ם your leev-nay-HEM סַפֵּ֑רוּ children sa-PAY-roo וּבְנֵיכֶם֙ of oo-veh-nay-HEM לִבְנֵיהֶ֔ם it, leev-nay-HEM וּבְנֵיהֶ֖ם and oo-veh-nay-HEM לְד֥וֹר let leh-DORE אַחֵֽר׃ your ah-HARE -
יֶ֤תֶר which YEH-ter הַגָּזָם֙ the ha-ɡa-ZAHM אָכַ֣ל palmerworm ah-HAHL הָֽאַרְבֶּ֔ה hath ha-ar-BEH וְיֶ֥תֶר left veh-YEH-ter הָאַרְבֶּ֖ה hath ha-ar-BEH אָכַ֣ל the ah-HAHL הַיָּ֑לֶק locust ha-YA-lek וְיֶ֣תֶר eaten; veh-YEH-ter הַיֶּ֔לֶק and ha-YEH-lek אָכַ֖ל that ah-HAHL הֶחָסִֽיל׃ which heh-ha-SEEL -
הָקִ֤יצוּ ye ha-KEE-tsoo שִׁכּוֹרִים֙ drunkards, shee-koh-REEM וּבְכ֔וּ and oo-veh-HOO וְהֵילִ֖לוּ weep; veh-hay-LEE-loo כָּל and kahl שֹׁ֣תֵי howl, SHOH-tay יָ֑יִן all YA-yeen עַל ye al עָסִ֕יס drinkers ah-SEES כִּ֥י of kee נִכְרַ֖ת wine, neek-RAHT מִפִּיכֶֽם׃ because mee-pee-HEM -
כִּֽי a kee גוֹי֙ nation ɡoh עָלָ֣ה is ah-LA עַל come al אַרְצִ֔י up ar-TSEE עָצ֖וּם upon ah-TSOOM וְאֵ֣ין my veh-ANE מִסְפָּ֑ר land, mees-PAHR שִׁנָּיו֙ strong, shee-nav שִׁנֵּ֣י and shee-NAY אַרְיֵ֔ה without ar-YAY וּֽמְתַלְּע֥וֹת number, oo-meh-ta-leh-OTE לָבִ֖יא whose la-VEE לֽוֹ׃ teeth loh -
שָׂ֤ם hath sahm גַּפְנִי֙ laid ɡahf-NEE לְשַׁמָּ֔ה my leh-sha-MA וּתְאֵנָתִ֖י vine oo-teh-ay-na-TEE לִקְצָפָ֑ה waste, leek-tsa-FA חָשֹׂ֤ף and ha-SOFE חֲשָׂפָהּ֙ barked huh-sa-FA וְהִשְׁלִ֔יךְ my veh-heesh-LEEK הִלְבִּ֖ינוּ fig heel-BEE-noo שָׂרִיגֶֽיהָ׃ tree: sa-ree-ɡAY-ha -
אֱלִ֕י like ay-LEE כִּבְתוּלָ֥ה a keev-too-LA חֲגֻֽרַת virgin huh-ɡOO-raht שַׂ֖ק girded sahk עַל with al בַּ֥עַל sackcloth BA-al נְעוּרֶֽיהָ׃ for neh-oo-RAY-ha -
הָכְרַ֥ת meat hoke-RAHT מִנְחָ֛ה offering meen-HA וָנֶ֖סֶךְ and va-NEH-sek מִבֵּ֣ית the mee-BATE יְהוָ֑ה drink yeh-VA אָֽבְלוּ֙ offering ah-veh-LOO הַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים is ha-KOH-huh-NEEM מְשָׁרְתֵ֖י cut meh-shore-TAY יְהוָֽה׃ off yeh-VA -
שֻׁדַּ֣ד field shoo-DAHD שָׂדֶ֔ה is sa-DEH אָבְלָ֖ה wasted, ove-LA אֲדָמָ֑ה the uh-da-MA כִּ֚י land kee שֻׁדַּ֣ד mourneth; shoo-DAHD דָּגָ֔ן for da-ɡAHN הוֹבִ֥ישׁ the hoh-VEESH תִּיר֖וֹשׁ corn tee-ROHSH אֻמְלַ֥ל is oom-LAHL יִצְהָֽר׃ wasted: yeets-HAHR -
הֹבִ֣ישׁוּ ye hoh-VEE-shoo אִכָּרִ֗ים ashamed, ee-ka-REEM הֵילִ֙ילוּ֙ O hay-LEE-LOO כֹּֽרְמִ֔ים ye koh-reh-MEEM עַל husbandmen; al חִטָּ֖ה howl, hee-TA וְעַל O veh-AL שְׂעֹרָ֑ה ye seh-oh-RA כִּ֥י vinedressers, kee אָבַ֖ד for ah-VAHD קְצִ֥יר the keh-TSEER שָׂדֶֽה׃ wheat sa-DEH -
הַגֶּ֣פֶן vine ha-ɡEH-fen הוֹבִ֔ישָׁה is hoh-VEE-sha וְהַתְּאֵנָ֖ה dried veh-ha-teh-ay-NA אֻמְלָ֑לָה up, oom-LA-la רִמּ֞וֹן and REE-mone גַּם the ɡahm תָּמָ֣ר fig ta-MAHR וְתַפּ֗וּחַ tree veh-TA-poo-ak כָּל languisheth; kahl עֲצֵ֤י the uh-TSAY הַשָּׂדֶה֙ pomegranate ha-sa-DEH יָבֵ֔שׁוּ tree, ya-VAY-shoo כִּֽי the kee הֹבִ֥ישׁ palm hoh-VEESH שָׂשׂ֖וֹן tree sa-SONE מִן also, meen בְּנֵ֥י and beh-NAY אָדָֽם׃ the ah-DAHM -
חִגְר֨וּ yourselves, heeɡ-ROO וְסִפְד֜וּ and veh-seef-DOO הַכֹּהֲנִ֗ים lament, ha-koh-huh-NEEM הֵילִ֙ילוּ֙ ye hay-LEE-LOO מְשָׁרְתֵ֣י priests: meh-shore-TAY מִזְבֵּ֔חַ howl, meez-BAY-ak בֹּ֚אוּ ye BOH-oo לִ֣ינוּ ministers LEE-noo בַשַּׂקִּ֔ים of va-sa-KEEM מְשָׁרְתֵ֖י the meh-shore-TAY אֱלֹהָ֑י altar: ay-loh-HAI כִּ֥י come, kee נִמְנַ֛ע lie neem-NA מִבֵּ֥ית all mee-BATE אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֖ם night ay-loh-hay-HEM מִנְחָ֥ה in meen-HA וָנָֽסֶךְ׃ sackcloth, va-NA-sek -
קַדְּשׁוּ ye ka-deh-SHOO צוֹם֙ a tsome קִרְא֣וּ fast, keer-OO עֲצָרָ֔ה call uh-tsa-RA אִסְפ֣וּ a ees-FOO זְקֵנִ֗ים solemn zeh-kay-NEEM כֹּ֚ל assembly, kole יֹשְׁבֵ֣י gather yoh-sheh-VAY הָאָ֔רֶץ the ha-AH-rets בֵּ֖ית elders bate יְהוָ֣ה and yeh-VA אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֑ם all ay-loh-hay-HEM וְזַעֲק֖וּ the veh-za-uh-KOO אֶל inhabitants el יְהוָֽה׃ of yeh-VA -
אֲהָ֖הּ for uh-HA לַיּ֑וֹם the LA-yome כִּ֤י day! kee קָרוֹב֙ for ka-ROVE י֣וֹם the yome יְהוָ֔ה day yeh-VA וּכְשֹׁ֖ד of oo-heh-SHODE מִשַׁדַּ֥י the mee-sha-DAI יָבֽוֹא׃ Lord ya-VOH -
הֲל֛וֹא not huh-LOH נֶ֥גֶד the NEH-ɡed עֵינֵ֖ינוּ meat ay-NAY-noo אֹ֣כֶל cut OH-hel נִכְרָ֑ת off neek-RAHT מִבֵּ֥ית before mee-BATE אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ our ay-loh-HAY-noo שִׂמְחָ֥ה eyes, seem-HA וָגִֽיל׃ yea, va-ɡEEL -
עָבְשׁ֣וּ seed ove-SHOO פְרֻד֗וֹת is feh-roo-DOTE תַּ֚חַת rotten TA-haht מֶגְרְפֹ֣תֵיהֶ֔ם under meɡ-reh-FOH-tay-HEM נָשַׁ֙מּוּ֙ their na-SHA-MOO אֹֽצָר֔וֹת clods, oh-tsa-ROTE נֶהֶרְס֖וּ the neh-her-SOO מַמְּגֻר֑וֹת garners ma-meh-ɡoo-ROTE כִּ֥י are kee הֹבִ֖ישׁ laid hoh-VEESH דָּגָֽן׃ desolate, da-ɡAHN -
מַה do ma נֶּאֶנְחָ֣ה the neh-en-HA בְהֵמָ֗ה beasts veh-hay-MA נָבֹ֙כוּ֙ groan! na-VOH-HOO עֶדְרֵ֣י the ed-RAY בָקָ֔ר herds va-KAHR כִּ֛י of kee אֵ֥ין cattle ane מִרְעֶ֖ה are meer-EH לָהֶ֑ם perplexed, la-HEM גַּם because ɡahm עֶדְרֵ֥י they ed-RAY הַצֹּ֖אן have ha-TSONE נֶאְשָֽׁמוּ׃ no neh-sha-MOO -
אֵלֶ֥יךָ Lord, ay-LAY-ha יְהוָ֖ה to yeh-VA אֶקְרָ֑א thee ek-RA כִּ֣י will kee אֵ֗שׁ I aysh אָֽכְלָה֙ cry: ah-heh-LA נְא֣וֹת for neh-OTE מִדְבָּ֔ר the meed-BAHR וְלֶ֣הָבָ֔ה fire veh-LEH-ha-VA לִהֲטָ֖ה hath lee-huh-TA כָּל devoured kahl עֲצֵ֥י the uh-TSAY הַשָּׂדֶֽה׃ pastures ha-sa-DEH -
