Genesis 24 - BBE (Nepali)

1 Now Abraham was old and far on in years: and the Lord had given him everything in full measure.अब्राहाम दीर्घ जीवन बाँचे अनि अत्यन्तै वृद्धा भएका थिए र त्यो समय भरि तिनले गरेका प्रत्येक कुरालाई परमप्रभुले आशीर्वाद दिनु भयो।

2 And Abraham said to his chief servant, the manager of all his property, Come now, put your hand under my leg:अब्राहामको सबभन्दा पुरानो अनि प्रमुख सेवक तिनको प्रत्येक चीजको जिम्मेवार थियो। अब्राहामले उसलाई आफू भएको ठाउँमा बोलाए अनि भने, “तेरो हात मेरो तिघ्रामुनि राख।

3 And take an oath by the Lord, the God of heaven and the God of the earth, that you will not get a wife for my son Isaac from the daughters of the Canaanites among whom I am living;अब म चाहन्छु तैंसे मलाई एउटा वचन दे। पृथ्वी अनि स्वर्गका परमप्रभु परमेश्वरको अघि तैंले मलाई वचन दे कनान देशकी कुनै पनि कन्यासित मेरो छोरोको विवाह हुन दिने छैनस्। हामी तिनीहरूको वीचमा बस्छौं तर तैंले कनानी कन्यासित उसलाई विवाह गर्न दिने छैनस्।

4 But that you will go into my country and to my relations and get a wife there for my son Isaac.तँ तेरो आफ्नै देशमा गएर मेरो छोरो इसहाकको निम्ति एउटी कन्या लिएर आइज।”

5 And the servant said, If by chance the woman will not come with me into this land, am I to take your son back again to the land from which you came?त्यस नोकरले अब्राहामलाई भने, “हुन सक्छ कन्याले मसँग यहाँ आउने इच्छा गरिनन् भने के म तपाईंको छोरोलाई मेरो देशमा लैजाउँ?”

6 And Abraham said, Take care that you do not let my son go back to that land.अब्राहामले उसलाई भने, “होइन, तैंसे मेरो छोरोलाई त्यस देशमा नलैजा।

7 The Lord God of heaven, who took me from my father's house and from the land of my birth, and made an oath to me, saying, To your seed I will give this land: he will send his angel before you and give you a wife for my son in that land.परमप्रभु, स्वर्गका परमेश्वरले मलाई मेरो जन्म थलोबाट यस भूमिमा ल्याउनुभयो। त्यो देश मेरो पिता अनि उनको परिवारको निम्ति थियो। तर परमप्रभुले म र मेरो परिवारलाई यो नयाँ भूमि दिने प्रतिज्ञा गर्नु भयो। परमप्रभु आफैले तिमीलाई लिएर जानका लागि एकजना स्वर्गदूत पठाउन् ताकि मेरो छोरोले बेहुली रोज्न सक्छ अनि यहाँ ल्याउँछ।

8 And if the woman will not come with you, then you are free from this oath; only do not take my son back there.तर यदि केटीले तिमीसंग आउन अस्वीकार गर्छे भने तिमी आफ्नो वचन पूरा गर्नका लागि बाध्य हुनु पर्ने छैन। “त्यहाँ मेरो छोरालाई न लैजाऊ।”

9 And the servant put his hand under Abraham's leg, and gave him his oath about this thing.यसर्थ त्यो नोकरले आफ्नो हात आफ्ना मालिक अब्राहामको तिघ्रा मुनि राखेर कसम खाए।

10 And the servant took ten of his master's camels, and all sorts of good things of his master's, and went to Mesopotamia, to the town of Nahor.त्यो नोकरले अब्राहामबाट दशवटा ऊँट लियो अनि ऊ त्यस ठाउँबाट हिंड्‌यो। नोकरले धेरै प्रकारको राम्रा-राम्रा उपहारहरू लिएर गयो। ऊ नाहोरको शहर मेसोपोटामिया गयो।

11 And he made the camels take their rest outside the town by the water-spring in the evening, at the time when the women came to get water.त्यो नोकर शहर बाहिरको कूवामा गयो जहाँ साँझमा स्त्रीहरू पानी लिन घरबाट बाहिर आउँथे। त्यस नोकरले त्यहाँ ऊँटहरूलाई घुँडा टेकाएर बसायो।

12 And he said, O Lord, the God of my master Abraham, let me do well in what I have undertaken this day, and give your mercy to my master Abraham.त्यस नोकरले भने, “हे परमप्रभु! तपाईं मेरा मालिक अब्राहामको परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्छ। आज उनको छोरोको निम्ति मलाई एउटी दुलही हासिल गराई दिनु होस्। कृपा गरी मेरा मालिक अब्राहामको निम्ति यति गरिदिनु होस्।

13 See, I am waiting here by the water-spring; and the daughters of the town are coming out to get water:म यहाँ पानीको कूवाको छेउमा बस्छु अनि पानी लिनको निम्ति कन्याहरू शहरबाट आइरहेका छन्।

14 Now, may the girl to whom I say, Let down your vessel and give me a drink, and who says in answer, Here is a drink for you and let me give water to your camels: may she be the one marked out by you for your servant Isaac: so may I be certain that you have been good to my master Abraham.म विशेष एउटा चिन्हको निम्ति हेरिरहनेछु जसद्वारा म जान्न सकूँ कुन चाँहि केटी इसहाकको निम्ति असल हुन सक्छे। यो एउटा विशेष चिन्ह होः म कन्यालाई भन्नेछु ‘दया गरी पानीको गाग्री तल राख म पानी पिउन सकूँ।’ जब त्यस कन्याले भन्‌छिन्, ‘लौ पानी खाऊ, म तपाईंको ऊँटलाई पनि पानी दिन्छु,’ तब मलाई यो पक्का हुन्छ त्यो कन्या इसहाकको निम्ति योग्य छे। यदि यस्तो भयो तपाईंले प्रमाणित गराई दिनु हुन्छ त्यो कन्या इसहाकको निम्ति योग्य हुन्छे अनि म पनि यो सम्झनेछु तपाईंले मेरा मालिक अब्राहामको निम्ति दया गर्नु भयो।”

15 And even before his words were ended, Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel, the son of Milcah, who was the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, came out with her water-vessel on her arm.तब नोकरको प्रार्थना शेष हुनअघि नै रिबेका नाउँ भएकी एउटी कन्या त्यहाँ आई। रिबेका बतूएलकी छोरी थिइ। बतूएल अब्राहामको भाइ नाहोर अनि मिल्काको छोरो थियो। रिबेका आफ्नो काँधमा पानीको गाग्रो लिएर कूवामा आएकी थिइन।

16 She was a very beautiful girl, a virgin, who had never been touched by a man: and she went down to the spring to get water in her vessel.तिनी अत्यन्तै सुन्दरी तरूणी थिइन जो सँग कुनै मानिस सुतेका थिएनन्। तिनी आफ्नो गाग्रीमा पानी भर्न कूवाको नजिक आइन्।

17 And the servant came running to her and said, Give me a little water from your vessel.तब त्यो नोकर त्यस केटी भएकोमा दगुरेर पुग्यो अनि भने, “दया गरी तिम्रो गाग्रीबाट मलाई पानी पिउन देऊ।”

18 And she said, Take a drink, my lord: and quickly letting down her vessel onto her hand, she gave him a drink.रिबेकाले तुरन्तै काँधबाट गाग्री तल राखेर उसलाई पानी पिउन दिइ। उनले भनी, “महाशय, पानी पिउनुहोस्।” उनले त्यस नोकरलाई केही पानी पिउन दिइ शेष मात्र गरेकी थिइ।

19 And having done so, she said, I will get water for your camels till they have had enough.उनले भनी हालीन, “म तपाईंको ऊँटहरूको निम्ति पनि केही पानी दिन्छु।”

20 And after putting the water from her vessel into the animals' drinking-place, she went quickly back to the spring and got water for all the camels.त्यसपछि रिबेकाले गाग्रीमा रहेको पानी सबै ऊँटहरूको निम्ति पिउन राखिएको द्रोणिकामा खन्याई। तब ऊ पानी ल्याउन कूवामा गई अनि सबै ऊँटहरूलाई पानी खुवाई।

21 And the man, looking at her, said nothing, waiting to see if the Lord had given his journey a good outcome.त्यस नोकरले रिबेकालाई राम्ररी हेर्यो। त्यो निश्चित हुन चाहन्थयो परमप्रभुले उसको प्रार्थना सुन्नुभयो र उसलाई उत्तर दिनु भयो अनि उसको यात्रा सफल पारिदिनु भयो।

22 And when the camels had had enough, the man took a gold nose-ring, half a shekel in weight, and two ornaments for her arms of ten shekels weight of gold;ऊँटहरूले पानी खाईसके पछि उनले रिबेकालाई आधा शेकेल तौलको सुनको एउटा नत्थी र दश शेकेल तौलको सुनको दुइवटा बालाहरू पनि दियो।

23 And said to her, Whose daughter are you? is there room in your father's house for us?त्यस नोकरले उसलाई सोध्यो, “तिम्रा पिता को हुनुहुन्छ? अनि के उहाँको घरमा मेरो दललाई बास बस्ने ठाउँ छ?”

24 And she said to him, I am the daughter of Bethuel, the son of Milcah, Nahor's wife.रिबेकाले उत्तर दिइ, “मेरा बुबा बतूएल हुनुहुन्छ। उहाँ मिल्का र नाहोरका छोरा हुनुहुन्छ। तपाईंका ऊँटहरूको निम्ति पराल र तपाईंको निम्ति बास बस्ने ठाउँ छ।”

25 And she said, We have a great store of dry grass and cattle-food, and there is room for you.उनले फेरि भनिन्, “हजुर हामीसंग पराल र चारो दुवै अनि तपाईंहरूको लागि सुत्न एउटा कोठा पनि छ।”

26 And with bent head the man gave worship to the Lord;त्यो नोकर निहुरियो अनि परमप्रभुको उपासना गर्यो।

27 And said, Praise be to the Lord, the God of my master Abraham, who has given a sign that he is good and true to my master, by guiding me straight to the house of my master's family.त्यसले भने, परमप्रभु मेरा मालिकका परमेशवर, तपाईं धन्य हुनुहुन्छ। परमप्रभु मेरा मालिकको निम्ति दयालु तथा विश्वस्त हुनु भएको छ। मेरा मालिकको छोरोको निम्ति योग्य केटी भएकोले मलाई परमप्रभुले डोर्याएर ल्याउनु भयो।”

28 So the girl went running and took the news of these things to her mother's houseतब रिबेका दगुरेर गई अनि आफ्नो परिवारलाई यो विषय वृतान्त बताई।

29 Now Rebekah had a brother named Laban, and he came out quickly to the man at the water-spring.रिबेकाको दाज्यू थियो। उसको नाउँ लाबान थियो। रिबेकाले त्यस मानिसले भनेको सबै कुरा सुनाई।

30 And when he saw the nose-ring and the ornaments on his sister's hands, and when she gave him word of what the man had said to her, then he went out to the man who was waiting with the camels by the water-spring.लाबानले उनले भनेको सुनिरहेको थियो अनि जब उनले रिबेकाको नाकमा सुनको नत्थ र हातमा बालाहरू देख्यो ऊ कूवामा दगुर्दै गए। अनि त्यहाँ कूवामा त्यो मानिस आफ्नो ऊँटहरूको नजिक उभिरहेको थियो।

31 And he said to him, Come in, you on whom is the blessing of the Lord; why are you waiting outside? for I have made the house ready for you, and a place for the camels.लाबानले भने, “महाशय, तपाईं यहाँ बाहिर नउभिनुहोस, तपाईंलाई हाम्रो घरमा स्वागत छ। विश्राम गर्न मैले तपाईंको निम्ति एउटा कोठा र ऊँटहरूलाई बस्ने ठाउँ ठीक पारेकोछु।”

32 Then the man came into the house, and Laban took their cords off the camels and gave them dry grass and food, and he gave to him and the men who were with him water for washing their feet.यसर्थ अब्राहामको सेवक लबनानको घरभित्र गए अनि ऊँटहरूबाट भारी झार्न सघायो। उसले ऊँटहरूका लागि पराल ल्यायो। उनले पानी पनि तयार राख्यो ताकि सेवक अनि मानिसहरू जो उनीसंग थिए आफ्नो गोडा धुन सकुन्।

33 And meat was put before him, but he said, I will not take food till I have made my business clear to you. And they said, Do so.लाबानले त्यस नोकरलाई खानु पनि दियो तर उनले खानु मानेन र भने, “म यहाँ किन आएको हुँ, जबसम्म म त्यो बताउँदिन, म खाने छैन।”यसकारण लाबानले भने, “तब हामीलाई भन्नुहोस्, किन आउनु भएको हो?”रिबेकाको विषयमा कुराकानी

34 And he said, I am Abraham's servant.त्यस नोकरले भने, “म अब्राहामको एकजना नोकर हुँ।

35 The Lord has given my master every blessing, and he has become great: he has given him flocks and herds and silver and gold, and men-servants and women-servants and camels and asses.परमप्रभुले मेरा मालिकलाई धेरै आशीर्वाद दिनुभएको छ। मेरा मालिक महान मानिस हुनु भएकोछ। परमप्रभुले अब्राहामलाई धेरै बगाल बाख्राहरू र धेरै बथान गाई-वस्तु दिनु भएकोछ। अब्राहामको धेरै धेरै ऊँटहरू र गधाहरू छन् दास-दासी र सुन-चाँदीहरू पनि निकै नै छन्।

36 And when Sarah, my master's wife, was old, she gave birth to a son, to whom he has given all he has.सारा मेरा मालिक अब्राहामकी पत्नी थिइन् अनि तिनले वृद्धावस्थामा एउटा छोरो जन्माइन् र मेरा मालिकले उनीसंग भएका प्रत्येक चीज आफ्नो छोरोलाई दिएका छन्।

37 And my master made me take an oath, saying, Do not get a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites among whom I am living;मेरा मालिकले मलाई एउटा शपथ गर्न कर लाउनु भयो। मेरो मालिकले मलाई भन्नुभयो, ‘तिमीले मेरो छोरोलाई कनानी केटी विवाह गर्न नदिनु। हामी यद्धपि तिनीहरूकै माझमा बस्छौं तर म छोरोले कनानी केटी विवाह नगरोस भन्ने चाहन्छु।

38 But go to my father's house and to my relations for a wife for my son.यसर्थ तिमी मेरो आफ्नो पिताको भूमिमा जानेछौ र हाम्रो सन्तान भित्रबाट उसको निम्ति एउटी कन्या केटी रोजेर ल्याउने छौ।’

39 And I said to my master, What if the woman will not come with me?मैले मालिकलाई भने, ‘हुन सक्छ कन्या मसित यो देशमा नआउलीन्।’

40 And he said, The Lord, whom I have ever kept before me, will send his angel with you, who will make it possible for you to get a wife for my son from my relations and my father's house;तर मेरा मालिकले मलाई भन्नुभयो, ‘म परमप्रभुको सेवा गर्छु, अनि परमप्रभुले आफ्नो स्वर्गदूत तँसित पठाउनु हुन्छ अनि तँलाईं सहायता गर्नु हुन्छ। मेरो मानिसहरूबीच नै तैंले मेरो छोरोको निम्ति एउटी दुलही पाउनेछस्।

41 And you will be free from your oath to me when you come to my people; and if they will not give her to you, you will be free from your oath.तर मेरो पिताको देशमा मेरा मानिसहरूले यदि मेरो छोरोको निम्ति दुलही दिन अस्वीकार गरे भने तँ यो शपथबाट मुक्त हुनेछस्।’

42 And I came today to the water-spring, and I said, O Lord, the God of my master Abraham, if it is your purpose to give a good outcome to my journey,“आज मैले यो कूवामा आएर परमप्रभुसित बिन्ती गरें ‘हे परमप्रभु, मेरा मालिकका परमेशवर, दया गरी मेरो यो यात्रा सफल तुल्याइदिनु होस्।

43 Let it come about that, while I am waiting here by the water-spring, if a girl comes to get water and I say to her, Give me a little water from your vessel, and she says,यहाँ यस कूवा नजिक उभिएर पानी भर्न आउने केटीलाई पर्खिन्छु। तब म भन्नेछु, “मलाई तपाईंको गाग्रोबाट पानी पिउन दिनु होस्।”

44 Take a drink, and I will get water for your camels; let her be the woman marked out by the Lord for my master's son.योग्य केटीले विशेष प्रकारले उत्तर दिन्‌छे। उनले भन्छे, “यो पानी पिउनु होस-अनि म तपाईंका ऊँटलाई पनि पानी दिन्छु।” त्यस प्रकारले म चाल पाउनेछु परमप्रभुले मेरा मालिकको छोरोको निम्ति रोज्नु भएको दुलही यही केटी हुनु पर्छ।’

45 And even while I was saying this to myself, Rebekah came out with her vessel on her arm; and she went down to the spring to get water; and I said to her, Give me a drink.“मेरो प्रार्थना शेष हुनु अघि अचम्म हेर; रेबेका कूवामा पानी भर्न आइन्। कूवामा पानी भर्न आउँदा उनको काँधमा एउटा गाग्री थियो। मैले उनलाई अलिकति पानी मागें।

46 And straight away she took down her vessel from her arm, and said, Take a drink, and I will get water for your camels.उनले झट्टै आफ्नो काँधबाट गाग्रो तल झारिन अनि मलाई पानी दिइन्। तब उसले भनिन्, ‘यो पिउनु होस् अनि तपाईंका ऊँटहरूको निम्ति केही अरू पनि पानी दिनेछु।’

47 And questioning her, I said, Whose daughter are you? And she said, The daughter of Bethuel, the son of Nahor, and Milcah his wife. Then I put the ring on her nose and the ornaments on her hands.त्यसपछि मैले उनलाई सोधें, ‘तिम्रा बाबु को हुन्?’ तिनले भनिन्, ‘मेरा बाबु बतूएल हुन्, मिल्का र नाहोरका छोरा।’ तब मैले उनलाई नत्थी र पाखुरामा लाउने बालाहरू दिएँ।

48 And with bent head I gave worship and praise to the Lord, the God of my master Abraham, by whom I had been guided in the right way, to get the daughter of my master's brother for his son.मैले मेरो शिर झुकयाएर परमप्रभुलाई धन्यवाद चढाएँ, मैले परमप्रभु मेरा मालिकका परमेशवरलाई धन्यवाद दिएँ। मलाई सोझै मेरा मालिकको भाइकी नातिनीकोमा पुर्याइदिनु भएकोमा मैले परमप्रभुलाई धन्यवाद दिएँ।

49 And now, say if you will do what is good and right for my master or not, in order that it may be clear to me what I have to do.अब भन्नु होस्, के तपाईं मेरा मालिकप्रति कृपालु अनि विश्वासी भई उनका छोरोलाई तपाईंकी छोरी दिनु हुन्छ? अथवा उसलाई तपाईंकी छोरी दिनु हुन्छ? भन्नु होस् मलाई त्यपछि मैले के गर्नु पर्छ म बुझ्नेछु।”

50 Then Laban and Bethuel said in answer, This is the Lord's doing: it is not for us to say Yes or No to you.त्यसपछि लाबान र बतूएलले उत्तर दिए, “हामीले थाहा पायौ यो सब परमप्रभुबाट नै भइरहेकोछ, यसर्थ यसकुरालाई बद्ली गर्ने विषयमा हामी केही पनि भन्न सक्तैनौं।

51 See, here is Rebekah: take her and go, and let her be your master's son's wife, as the Lord has said.रिबेका यहीं छे, यसलाई लिएर जाऊ। उनले तिम्रा मालिकका छोरोसित विवाह गरोस्। परमप्रभु यही चाहनु हुँदोरहेछ।”

52 And at these words, Abraham's servant went down on his face and gave praise to the Lord.जब अब्राहामको नोकरले त्यो सुन्यो ऊ परमप्रभुअघि भूइँमा निहुरियो।

53 Then he took jewels of silver and jewels of gold and fair robes and gave them to Rebekah: and he gave things of value to her mother and her brother.त्यसपछि उनले ल्याएका उपहारहरू रिबेकालाई दियो। उनले राम्रो लुगाहरू र सुन चाँदीका गहनाहरू दियो। उनले रिबेकाको आमा र दाज्यूलाई पनि बहुमूल्य उपहार दियो।

54 Then he and the men who were with him had food and drink, and took their rest there that night; and in the morning he got up, and said, Let me now go back to my master.त्यसपछि त्यो नोकर र ऊसंगै पुगेको मानिसले खाइपिइ गरेर त्यहीं रात बिताए। बिहान मात्र चाँडै उठेर तिनीहरूले भने, “अब हामी मालिककहाँ जानै पर्छ।”

55 But her brother and her mother said, Let the girl be with us a week or ten days, and then she may go.रिबेकाकी आमा र दाज्यूले भने, “रिबेका हामीसितै केही समयको निम्ति बसोस्। हामीसित त्यो दश दिनसम्म बसोस् र त्यसपछि जान सक्छे।”

56 And he said, Do not keep me; the Lord has given a good outcome to my journey; let me now go back to my master.तर नोकरले तिनीहरूलाई भने, “मलाई पर्खनु नलाउनु होला। परमप्रभुले मेरो यात्रा सफल पार्नु भएकोछ। मलाई मेरा मालिककहाँ फर्केर जानु दिनुहोस्।”

57 And they said, We will send for the girl, and let her make the decision.रिबेकाको दाज्यू र आमाले भने, “हामी रिबेकालाई बोलाउनेछौ र उनले के गर्न चाहन्छे सोध्नेछौं।”

58 And they sent for Rebekah and said to her, Are you ready to go with this man? And she said, I am ready.तिनीहरूले रिबेकालाई बोलाएर भने, “के तँ यी मानिसहरूसंगै अहिले नै जान चाहन्छेस्?”रिबेकाले भनिन्, “अँ, म जान्छु।”

59 So they sent their sister Rebekah and her servant with Abraham's servant and his men.यसकारण तिनीहरूले रिबेकालाई अब्राहामको नोकर अनि उसका साथीहरूसित जान दिए। रिबेकाकी सहेली पनि उसैसंग लागीन्।

60 And they gave Rebekah their blessing, saying, O sister, may you be the mother of thousands and ten thousands; and may your seed overcome all those who make war against them.जब तिनीहरू जानु तत्पर भए तब तिनीहरूले भने,“ए हाम्री बहिनी, तिमी हजारौं हजार जनको जननी बन, र तिम्रो सन्तानले शत्रुहरूलाई हराओस्, अनि तिनीहरूको शहरहरू कब्जा गरून्।”

61 So Rebekah and her servant-women went with the man, seated on the camels; and so the servant took Rebekah and went on his way.त्यसपछि रिबेका र उसको सहेलीहरू ऊँटमा चढेर अघि लागे अनि अब्राहामको नोकर र उसको साथीहरू तिनीहरूको पछि लागे। यसरी त्यो नोकरले रिबेकालाई आफूसंगै लिएर घर फर्किन यात्रा शुरू गरे।

62 Now Isaac had come through the waste land to Beer-lahai-roi; for he was living in the South.त्यस बेला इसहाकले बेर-लहै-रोई छोडेर नेगेवमा बस्न शुरू गरेको थियो।

63 And when the evening was near, he went wandering out into the fields, and lifting up his eyes he saw camels coming.एक साँझ इसहाक मैदानमा घूमि रहेको थियो। इसहाकले आँखा उठाएर हेर्यो अनि टाडोमा ऊँटहरू आउँदै गरेको देख्यो।

64 And when Rebekah, looking up, saw Isaac, she got down from her camel,रिबेकाले नजर घुमाई अनि इसहाकलाई देखी। तब तिनी ऊँटबाट ओर्लिन्।

65 And said to the servant, Who is that man coming to us through the field? And the servant said, It is my master: then she took her veil, covering her face with it.उनले नोकरलाई सोधी, “हामीहरूसित भेट गर्न त्यहाँ मैदानमा घूमिरहने जवान केटो को हो?”त्यो नोकरले भने, “यो मेरो मालिकको छोरो हो।” यति सुनेपछि रिबेकाले आफ्नो अनुहार छोपिन्।

66 Then the servant gave Isaac the story of all he had done.जुन कुराहरू भएका थिए नोकरले इसहाकलाई सबै वृतान्त बतायो।

67 And Isaac took Rebekah into his tent and she became his wife; and in his love for her, Isaac was comforted after his father's death.तब इसहाकले केटीलाई आफ्नो आमाको पालमा लग्यो। त्यही दिन इसहाकले रिबेकालाई विवाह गर्यो। ऊ रिबेकालाई अत्यन्तै प्रेम गर्थ्यो। यसकारण आफ्नी आमाको मृत्यु पछि उनले धेरै सान्तवना पायो।
