1 After these things and this truth, come hath Sennacherib king of Asshur, yea, he cometh in to Judah, and encampeth against the cities of the bulwarks, and saith to rend them unto himself.हिजकियाहले यी सबै कुराहरू विश्वास पूर्वक गरि सकेपछि, अश्शूरका राजा सनहेरीब यहूदा देश माथि आक्रमण गर्न आए। सनहेरीब अनि तिनका सेनाले किल्लाका बाहिर छाउनी बसाए। तिनले यसो गरे जसमा कि ती शहरहरूलाई परास्त गर्नका निम्ति तिनले योजना बनाउन सकून्। सनहेरीब ती शहरहरूलाई आफ्नै निम्ति जित्न चाहन्थे।

2 And Hezekiah seeth that Sennacherib hath come, and his face `is' to the battle against Jerusalem,हिजकियाहले जान्दथे कि सनहेरीब यरूशलेममा यसलाई आक्रमण गर्न आएको हो।

3 and he taketh counsel with his heads and his mighty ones, to stop the waters of the fountains that `are' at the outside of the city -- and they help him,तब हिजकियाहले आफ्ना अधिकारीहरू अनि सैनिक अधिकारीहरू सित कुरा-कानी गरे। तिनीहरू सबै शहर बाहिरका जल स्रोतका पानी रोकि दिन सहमत भए। ती अधिकारीहरू अनि सैन्य अधिकारीहरूले हिजकियाहलाई सहयोग गरे।

4 and much people are gathered, and they stop all the fountains and the brook that is rushing into the midst of the land, saying, `Why do the kings of Asshur come, and have found much water?'धेरै मानिसहरू साथ आए अनि सबै जल-स्रोत अनि देशको मध्य भागबाट बग्ने खोलालाई बन्द गरिदिए। तिनीहरूले भने, “अश्शूरका राजाले अधिक पानी पाउने छैन जब तिनी यहाँ आउँछन्।”

5 And he strengtheneth himself, and buildeth the whole of the wall that is broken, and causeth `it' to ascend unto the towers, and at the outside of the wall another, and strengtheneth Millo, `in' the city of David, and maketh darts in abundance, and shields.हिजकियाहले यरूशलेमलाई अझ अधिक सुदृढ बनाए। तिनले यो काम यसरी गरेः तिनले पर्खालका सबै अंशहरू फेरि बनाए जो भत्किएका थिए। तिनले पर्खाल माथि किल्लाहरू बनाए। तिनले पहिलो पर्खालको बाहिर पट्टि अर्को पर्खाल पनि निर्माण गरे। तिनले यरूशलेमको पुरानो अंशको पूर्व तिरको सुदृढ स्थानहरूलाई फेरि निर्माण गरे। तिनले अनेक हतियारहरू अनि ढालहरू बनाए।

6 And he putteth heads of war over the people, and gathereth them unto him, unto the broad place of a gate of the city, and speaketh unto their heart, saying,हिजकियाहले युद्धका अधिकारीहरूलाई मानिसहरू प्रति जिम्मावार रहनुका निम्ति चुने।

7 `Be strong and courageous, be not afraid, nor be cast down from the face of the king of Asshur, and from the face of all the multitude that `is' with him, for with us `are' more than with him.तिनले यी अधिकारीहरूसित शहर द्वार नजिकको खुल्ला स्थानमा भेट गरे। हिजकियाहले ती अधिकारीहरूसित कुरा-कानी गरे अनि तिनीहरूलाई उत्सहित तुल्याए। तिनले भने, “दृढ अनि साहसी बन। अश्शूरका राजा वा तिनीसित भएका विशाल सेनासित नडराऊ वा सूर्ता नगर। अश्शूरका राजा जो तिनीसित भएको शक्ति भन्दा हामीसित महान शक्ति छ।

8 With him `is' an arm of flesh, and with us `is' Jehovah our God, to help us, and to fight our battles;' and the people are supported by the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.अश्शूरका राजाका मानिसहरू मात्र छन्। तर हामी सित परमप्रभु हाम्रा परमेश्वर साथ हुनुहुन्छ। हाम्रा परमेश्वरले हामीलाई सहायता गर्नु हुने छ। हाम्रा लडाईहरू उहाँले लडी दिनु हुनेछ।” यसरी यहूदाका राजा हिजकियाहले मानिसहरूलाई उत्साह दिए अनि तिनीहरूलाई शक्तिशाली अनुभव गराए।

9 After this hath Sennacherib king of Asshur sent his servants to Jerusalem -- and he `is' by Lachish, and all his power with him -- against Hezekiah king of Judah, and against all Judah, who `are' in Jerusalem, saying,अश्शूरका राजा सनहेरीब अनि तिनका सबै सेनाहरू लाकीश शहरको नजिकमा छाउनी लाएर बसेका थिए जसमा कि तिनीहरूले यसलाई परास्त गर्न सकून्। तब सनहेरीबले आफ्ना अधिकारीहरूलाई यहूदाका राजा हिजकियाह अनि यरूशलेमका सबै मानिसहरूका निम्ति सनहेरीबाका अधिकारीहरूसित संन्देश थियो।

10 `Thus said Sennacherib king of Asshur, On what are ye trusting and abiding in the bulwark, in Jerusalem?तिनीहरूले भने, “अश्शूरका राजा सनहेरीब यसो भन्नु हुन्छ, ‘तिमीहरू के कुरामा विश्वास गर्छौ जसले तिमीहरूलाई युद्धको स्थितिमा पनि यरूशलेममा बसिरहन सिकायौ?

11 `Is not Hezekiah persuading you, to give you up to die by famine, and by thirst, saying, Jehovah our God doth deliver us from the hand of the king of Asshur?हिजकियाहले तिमीहरूलाई मूर्ख बनाउँदै छन्। तिमीहरूलाई छल गरेर यरूशलेममा बसिरहन लाएका छन् जसमा कि तिमीहरू भोक र तिर्खाद्वारा मर्ने छौ। हिजकियाहले तिमीहरूलाई भन्छन्, “परमप्रभु हाम्रा परमेश्वरले हामीलाई अश्शूरका राजा देखि बचाउँनु हुन्छ।”

12 Hath not Hezekiah himself turned aside His high places, and His altars, and speaketh to Judah and to Jerusalem, saying, Before one altar ye bow yourselves, and on it ye make perfume?हिजकियाह आफैले परमप्रभुको उच्च स्थानहरू अनि वेदीहरू हटाए। तिनले तिमी यहूदा अनि यरूशलेमका मानिसहरूलाई भने कि तिमीहरूले केवल एउटा वेदीमा मात्र पूजा गर्नु पर्छ अनि धूप बाल्नु पर्छ।

13 `Do ye not know what I have done -- I and my fathers -- to all peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of the lands at all able to deliver their land out of my hand?निश्चय नै तिमीहरू जान्दछौ कि मेरा पुर्खाहरू अनि मैले अन्य देशका मानिसहरू प्रति के गरेका छु? अन्य देशहरूका देवताहरूले आफ्ना मानिसहरूलाई बचाउँन सकेनन्। ती देवाताहरूले तिनीहरूका मानिसहरूलाई नष्ट गर्न देखि मलाई रोक्न सकेनन्।

14 Who among all the gods of these nations whom my fathers have devoted to destruction `is' he who hath been able to deliver his people out of my hand, that your God is able to deliver you out of my hand?मेरा पुर्खाहरूले ती देशहरूलाई ध्वंश गरे। कुनै यस्तो देवता छैन जसले मलाई उहाँका मानिसहरूलाई नष्ट गर्न देखि रोक्न सक्छन्। यसर्थ तिम्रो देवताले तिमीहरूलाई म बाट बचाउँन सक्छन् भनी तिमी सोच्छौ?

15 `And, now, let not Hezekiah lift you up, nor persuade you thus, nor give credence to him, for no god of any nation and kingdom is able to deliver his people from my hand, and from the hand of my fathers: also, surely your God doth not deliver you from my hand!'हिजकियाहलाई तिमीहरूले मूर्ख तुल्याउन वा तिमीहरूलाई छल्न नदेऊ। तिनी प्रति विश्वास नगर किनभने कुनै राष्ट्र वा राज्यका कुनै पनि देवता आफ्ना मानिसहरूलाई म वा मेरा पुर्खाहरूबाट बचाउँन कहिले पनि समर्थ भएनन्। यसर्थ तिम्रा देवताले तिमीहरूलाई नष्ट गर्न बाट मलाई रोक्न सक्छन् भनी नसोच।”‘

16 And again have his servants spoken against Jehovah God, and against Hezekiah His servant,अश्शूरका राजाका अधिकारीहरूले परमप्रभु परमेश्वरको विरूद्ध अनि परमेश्वरका सेवक हिजकियाहको विरूद्ध अत्यन्त नराम्रा कुराहरू भने।

17 and letters he hath written to give reproach to Jehovah, God of Israel, and to speak against Him, saying, `As the gods of the nations of the lands that have not delivered their people from my hand, so the God of Hezekiah doth not deliver His people from my hand.'अश्शूरका राजाले पत्रहरू पनि लेखे जसमा परमप्रभु इस्राएलका परमेश्वरको अपमान गरिएको थियो। यी शब्दहरू अश्शूरका राजाद्वारा पत्रहरूमा भनेको थिएः “अन्य राष्ट्रहरूका देवताहरूले तिनीहरूका मानिसहरूलाई ध्वंश गर्नबाट मलाई रोक्न सकेनन्। यस्तै प्रकारले हिजकियाहका परमेश्वरले उहाँका मानिसहरूलाई ध्वंश गर्नबाट मलाई रोक्न समर्थ हुने छैनन्।”

18 And they call with a great voice `in' Jewish, against the people of Jerusalem who `are' on the wall, to frighten them, and to trouble them, that they may capture the city,तब अश्शूरका राजाका अधिकारीहरूले यरूशलेमका मानिसहरूलाई जोडले कराए जो शहरका पर्खालमा थिए। ती अधिकारीले हिब्रू भाषा प्रयोग। गरे जब तिनीहरू माथि भएका मानिसहरू प्रति कराए। अश्शूरका राजाका ती अधिकारीहरूले यरूशलेमका मानिसहरूलाई भयभीत तुल्याउन भनी यसो गरे। तिनीहरूले ती कुराहरू भने जसद्वारा तिनीहरू यरूशलेम शहरलाई कब्जा गर्न सकून्।

19 and they speak against the God of Jerusalem as against the gods of the peoples of the land -- work of the hands of man.ती अधिकारीहरूले संसारका मानिसहरूले पूजा गर्ने देवताहरूको विरूद्ध नराम्रा कुराहरू भने। ती देवताहरू केवल मानिसहरूले अफ्ना हातहरू द्वारा बनाएका कुराहरू हुन्। त्यही प्रकारले, ती अधिकारीहरूले त्यस्तै नराम्रा कुराहरू यरूशलेमका परमेश्वरको विरूद्ध भने।

20 And Hezekiah the king prayeth, and Isaiah son of Amoz the prophet, concerning this, and they cry to the heavens,राजा हिजकियाह अनि अगमवक्ता यशौया-आमोसका छोराले यो समस्याको विषयमा प्रार्थना गरे। तिनीहरूले ठूलो आवाजमा स्वर्गतिर हेरेर प्रार्थना गरे।

21 and Jehovah sendeth a messenger, and cutteth off every mighty one of valour -- both leader and head -- in the camp of the king of Asshur, and he turneth back with shame of face to his land, and entereth the house of his god, and those coming out of his bowels have caused him to fall there by the sword.तब परमप्रभुले अश्शूरका राजाको छाउनीमा एक स्वर्गदूतलाई पठाउनु भयो। त्यो स्वर्गदूतले अश्शूरी सेनाका सबै सैनिकहरू अनि प्रमुखहरू र अधिकारीहरूलाई मारिदिए। यसर्थ अश्शूरका राजा आफ्नै देशतर्फ फर्किए, अनि तिनका मानिसहरू तिनी प्रति लज्जित थिए। तिनी आफ्ना देवताको मन्दिर भित्र गए अनि तिनका आफ्नै केही छोराहरूले तिनलाई त्यही तरवार द्वारा मारिदिए।

22 And Jehovah saveth Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib king of Asshur, and from the hand of all, and He leadeth them round about;यसरी परमप्रभुले हिजकियाह अनि यरूशलेमका मानिसहरूलाई अश्शूरका राजा सनहेरीब अनि सबै अन्य मानिसहरूबाट बचाउँनु भयो। परमप्रभुले हिजकियाह अनि यरूशलेमका मानिसहरूको हेरचाह गरिदिनु भयो।

23 and many are bringing in an offering to Jehovah, to Jerusalem, and precious things to Hezekiah king of Judah, and he is lifted up before the eyes of all the nations after this.धेरै मानिसहरूले यरूशलेममा परमप्रभुका निम्ति उपहारहरू ल्याए अनि यहूदाका राजा हिजकियाहका निम्ति मूल्यवान वस्तुहरू ल्याए। त्यस समयदेखि सबै राष्ट्रहरूले हिजकियाहलाई सम्मान गरे।

24 In those days hath Hezekiah been sick even unto death, and he prayeth unto Jehovah, and He speaketh to him, and a wonder hath appointed for him;ती दिनहरूमा हिजकियाह साह्रै बिरामी भए अनि मृत्युको नजिक पुगे। तिनले परमप्रभुलाई प्रार्थना गरे। परमप्रभु हिजकियाहसित बोल्नु भयो अनि तिनलाई संकेत दिनु भयो।

25 and Hezekiah hath not returned according to the deed `done' unto him, for his heart hath been lofty, and there is wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem;तर हिजकियाहको हृदय घमण्डले भरिएको थियो, यसर्थ तिनले परमेश्वरको दयालुपन प्रति परमेश्वरलाई धन्यवाद चढाएनन्। यसै कारणले गर्दा परमेश्वर हिजकियाह अनि यहूदा र यरूशलेमका मानिसहरू प्रति क्रोधित हुनु भयो।

26 and Hezekiah is humbled for the loftiness of his heart, he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the wrath of Jehovah hath not come upon them in the days of Hezekiah.तर हिजकियाह अनि यरूशलेममा बस्ने ती मानिसहरूले तिनीहरूको हृदय र जीवनलाई परिवर्त्तन गरे। तिनीहरू नम्र भए र घमण्ड गर्न छोडे त्यसकारण हिजकियाह जीवित रहेसम्म परमप्रभुको क्रोध तिनीहरूमाथि परेन।

27 And Hezekiah hath riches and honour very much, and treasures he hath made to himself of silver, and of gold, and of precious stone, and of spices, and of shields, and of all `kinds' of desirable vessels,हिजकियाहसित धेरै धन अनि सम्मान थिए। तिनले चाँदी, सुन, मूल्यवान रत्न, मसाला, ढाल अनि सबै किसिमका चीजहरू राख्ने स्थानहरू बनाए।

28 and storehouses for the increase of corn, and new wine, and oil, and stalls for all kinds of cattle, and herds for stalls;हिजकियाहका अन्न, नयाँ दाख मद्य अनि तेलहरू, ती मानिसहरूले पठाएका वस्तुहरू, राख्ने भंण्डारहरू थिए। तिनका सबै किसिमका पशुहरू राख्ने पशुशालाहरू अनि भेडाहरू राख्ने र्खकहरू थिए।

29 and cities he hath made for himself, and possessions of flocks and herds in abundance, for God hath given to him very much substance.हिजकियाहले अनेक शहरहरू पनि निर्माण गरे अनि तिनले धेरै भेंडा अनि गाई बस्तुहरूका बथानहरू पनि प्राप्त गरे। परमेश्वरले हिजकियाहलाई धेरै धन-सम्पत्ति दिनु भयो।

30 And Hezekiah himself hath stopped the upper source of the waters of Gihon, and directeth them beneath to the west of the city of David, and Hezekiah prospereth in all his work;यो हिजकियाह नै थिए जसले यरूशलेममा गीहोन जल स्रोतको माथिल्लो स्रोत बन्द गरिदिए अनि ती पानीलाई दाऊदको शहरको पश्चिम तर्फ बगेर जाने तुल्याए। अनि तिनले गरेका हरेक कुरामा हिजकियाह सफल रहे।

31 and so with the ambassadors of the heads of Babylon, those sending unto him to inquire of the wonder that hath been in the land, God hath left him to try him, to know all in his heart,एक समयमा बाबेलका प्रमुखहरूले हिजकियाह कहाँ दूतहरू पठाए। ती दूतहरूले एक अदभूत संकेतको बारेमा सोधे जो राष्ट्रहरूमा प्रकट भएको थियो। जब तिनीहरू आए, परमेश्वरले तिनको परिक्षा गर्न अनि हिजकियाहको मनमा के छ ती सबै जान्नका निम्ति हिजकियाहलाई एक्लै छाड्नु भयो।

32 And the rest of the matters of Hezekiah, and his kind acts, lo, they are written in the vision of Isaiah son of Amoz the prophet, on the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.हिजकियाहले गरेका अन्य कुराहरू र उनको परमेश्वर प्रतिको विश्वासयोग्यता, “आमोसका छोरो यशैया अगमवक्ताको दर्शन” भनिने पुस्तक अनि “यहूदा अनि इस्राएलका राजाहरूका इतिहास” भनिने पुस्तकमा लेखिएका छन्।

33 And Hezekiah lieth with his fathers, and they bury him in the uppermost of the graves of the sons of David, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem have done honour to him at his death, and reign doth Manasseh his son in his stead.हिजकियाहको मृत्यु भयो अनि आफ्ना पुर्खाहरूसित गाडिए। मानिसहरूले हिजकियाहलाई डाँडामा गाडे जहाँ दाऊदका पुर्खाहरूका चिहानहरू छन्। यहूदाका अनि यरूशलेममा बस्ने सबै मानिसहरूले हिजकियाहलाई सम्मान प्रदान गरे जब तिनको मृत्यु भयो। मनश्शे हिजकियाहका स्थानमा नयाँ राजा भए। मनश्शे हिजकियाहका छोरा थिए।मनश्शे यहूदाका राजा
