അമാവാസ്യയുടെ പിറ്റെന്നാളും ദാവീദിന്റെ സ്ഥലം ഒഴിഞ്ഞുകിടന്നു; ശൌൽ തന്റെ മകനായ യോനാഥാനോടു: യിശ്ശായിയുടെ മകൻ ഇന്നലെയും ഇന്നും പന്തിഭോജനത്തിന്നു വരാതിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And it came to pass on the morrow, which was the second day of the month, that David's place was empty: and Saul said unto Jonathan his son, Wherefore cometh not the son of Jesse to meat, neither yesterday, nor to day?

and Saul שָׁאוּל֙ šāʾûl sha-OOL

Jonathan יְהֽוֹנָתָ֣ן yĕhônātān yeh-hoh-na-TAHN
his son, בְּנ֔וֹ bēn bane
Wherefore מַדּ֜וּעַ maddûaʿ ma-DOO-ah

the son בֶן bēn bane
of Jesse יִשַׁ֛י yišay yee-SHAI
