യേഹേസ്കേൽ 15

1 യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എനിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

2 മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, കാട്ടിലെ വൃക്ഷങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഒരു ചെടിയായിരിക്കുന്ന മുന്തിരിവള്ളിക്കു മറ്റു മരത്തെക്കാൾ എന്തു വിശേഷതയുള്ളു?

3 വല്ല പണിക്കും കൊള്ളിപ്പാൻ അതിൽനിന്നു മരം എടുക്കാമോ? എല്ല സാധനവും തൂക്കിയിടേണ്ടതിന്നു അതുകൊണ്ടു ഒരാണി ഉണ്ടാക്കാമോ?

4 അതിനെ തീക്കു ഇരയായി കൊടുക്കുന്നു; തീ അതിന്റെ രണ്ടു അറ്റവും ദഹിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ നടുമുറിയും വെന്തിരിക്കുന്നു ഇനി അതു വല്ല പണിക്കും കൊള്ളുമോ?

5 അതു മുഴുവനായിരുന്നപ്പോൾതന്നേ ഒരു പണിക്കും കൊള്ളാതിരുന്നു; തീ അതിനെ ദഹിപ്പിക്കയും അതു ദഹിച്ചുപോകയും ചെയ്തശേഷം വല്ല പണിക്കും കൊള്ളുമോ?

6 അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയായ കർത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: കാട്ടിലെ വൃക്ഷങ്ങളിൽ ഞാൻ തീക്കിരിയാക്കിക്കൊടുത്ത മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയെപ്പോലെ ഞാൻ യെരൂശലേം നിവാസികളെയും ആക്കും.

7 ഞാൻ അവർക്കു വിരോധമായി മുഖം തിരിക്കും; അവർ തീയിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിലും അവർ തീക്കു ഇരയായിത്തീരും; ഞാൻ അവർക്കു വിരോധമായി മുഖം തിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ യഹോവ എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയും.

8 അവർ ദ്രോഹം ചെയ്കകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ ദേശത്തെ ശൂന്യമാക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയായ കർത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു

1 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

2 Son of man, What is the vine tree more than any tree, or than a branch which is among the trees of the forest?

3 Shall wood be taken thereof to do any work? or will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon?

4 Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire devoureth both the ends of it, and the midst of it is burned. Is it meet for any work?

5 Behold, when it was whole, it was meet for no work: how much less shall it be meet yet for any work, when the fire hath devoured it, and it is burned?

6 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

7 And I will set my face against them; they shall go out from one fire, and another fire shall devour them; and ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I set my face against them.

8 And I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass, saith the Lord God.
