എന്നാൽ അവർ നിന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കും. അപ്പോൾ നീയും യിസ്രായേൽ മൂപ്പന്മാരും മിസ്രയീംരാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു അവനോടു: എബ്രായരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു വെളിപ്പെട്ടുവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു. ആകയാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ മൂന്നു ദിവസത്തെ വഴി മരുഭൂമിയിൽ ചെന്നു ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു യാഗം കഴിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറവിൻ.

| Israel, of | יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל | yiśrāʾēl | yees-ra-ALE |
| unto | אֶל | ʾel | el |
| the king | מֶ֣לֶךְ | melek | MEH-lek |
| of Egypt, | מִצְרַ֗יִם | miṣrayim | meets-RA-yeem |
| say shall ye and | וַֽאֲמַרְתֶּ֤ם | waʾămartem | va-uh-mahr-TEM |
| unto | אֵלָיו֙ | ʾēlāyw | ay-lav |
| him, The Lord | יְהוָ֞ה | yĕhwâ | yeh-VA |
| God | אֱלֹהֵ֤י | ʾĕlōhê | ay-loh-HAY |
| of the Hebrews | הָֽעִבְרִיִּים֙ | hāʿibriyyîm | ha-eev-ree-YEEM |
| hath met | נִקְרָ֣ה | niqrâ | neek-RA |
| with | עָלֵ֔ינוּ | ʿālênû | ah-LAY-noo |
| now and us: | וְעַתָּ֗ה | wĕʿattâ | veh-ah-TA |
| let us go, | נֵֽלֲכָה | nēlăkâ | NAY-luh-ha |
| we beseech thee, | נָּ֞א | nāʾ | na |
| three | דֶּ֣רֶךְ | derek | DEH-rek |
| days' | שְׁלֹ֤שֶׁת | šĕlōšet | sheh-LOH-shet |
| journey | יָמִים֙ | yāmîm | ya-MEEM |
| into the wilderness, | בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר | bammidbār | ba-meed-BAHR |
| sacrifice may we that | וְנִזְבְּחָ֖ה | wĕnizbĕḥâ | veh-neez-beh-HA |
| to the Lord | לַֽיהוָ֥ה | layhwâ | lai-VA |
| our God. | אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ | ʾĕlōhênû | ay-loh-HAY-noo |
