യഹോവ ഈ ദേശത്തോടു ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തതു എന്തു? ഈ മഹാക്രോധാഗ്നിയുടെ കാരണം എന്തു എന്നു സകലജാതികളും ചോദിക്കും.

| beareth, | תַצְמִ֔חַ | taṣmiaḥ | tahts-MEE-ak |
| nor | וְלֹֽא | wĕlōʾ | veh-LOH |
| any | יַעֲלֶ֥ה | yaʿăle | ya-uh-LEH |
| grass | בָ֖הּ | bāh | va |
| groweth | כָּל | kāl | kahl |
| therein, like the overthrow | עֵ֑שֶׂב | ʿēśeb | A-sev |
| Sodom, of | כְּֽמַהְפֵּכַ֞ת | kĕmahpēkat | keh-ma-pay-HAHT |
| and Gomorrah, | סְדֹ֤ם | sĕdōm | seh-DOME |
| Admah, | וַֽעֲמֹרָה֙ | waʿămōrāh | va-uh-moh-RA |
| and Zeboim, | אַדְמָ֣ה | ʾadmâ | ad-MA |
| which | וּצְבֹיִ֔ים | ûṣĕbōyîm | oo-tseh-voh-YEEM |
| the Lord | אֲשֶׁר֙ | ʾăšer | uh-SHER |
| overthrew | הָפַ֣ךְ | hāpak | ha-FAHK |
| anger, his in | יְהוָ֔ה | yĕhwâ | yeh-VA |
| and in his wrath: | בְּאַפּ֖וֹ | bĕʾappô | beh-AH-poh |
