അങ്ങനെ അവർ പട്ടണവാതിൽക്കൽ ചെന്നു കാവൽക്കാരനെ വിളിച്ചു: ഞങ്ങൾ അരാംപാളയത്തിൽ പോയിരുന്നു; അവിടെ ഒരു മനുഷ്യനും ഇല്ല; ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്റെയും ശബ്ദം കേൾപ്പാനുമില്ല കുതിരകളും കഴുതകളും കെട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നപാടെ നില്ക്കുന്നു; കൂടാരങ്ങളും അപ്പാടെ തന്നേ ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
