1 And seeing great masses of people he went up into the mountain; and when he was seated his disciples came to him.അവൻ പുരുഷാരത്തെ കണ്ടാറെ മലമേൽ കയറി. അവൻ ഇരുന്നശേഷം ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു.

2 And with these words he gave them teaching, saying,അവൻ തിരുവായ്മൊഴിഞ്ഞു അവരോടു ഉപദേശിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

3 Happy are the poor in spirit: for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.“ആത്മാവിൽ ദരിദ്രരായവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യം അവർക്കുള്ളതു.

4 Happy are those who are sad: for they will be comforted.ദുഃഖിക്കുന്നവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; അവർക്കു ആശ്വാസം ലഭിക്കും.

5 Happy are the gentle: for the earth will be their heritage.സൌമ്യതയുള്ളവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; അവർ ഭൂമിയെ അവകാശമാക്കും.

6 Happy are those whose heart's desire is for righteousness: for they will have their desire.നീതിക്കു വിശന്നു ദാഹിക്കുന്നവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; അവർക്കു തൃപ്തിവരും.

7 Happy are those who have mercy: for they will be given mercy.കരുണയുള്ളവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; അവർക്കു കരുണ ലഭിക്കും.

8 Happy are the clean in heart: for they will see God.ഹൃദയ ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; അവർ ദൈവത്തെ കാണും.

9 Happy are the peacemakers: for they will be named sons of God.സമാധാനം ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; അവർ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും.

10 Happy are those who are attacked on account of righteousness: for the kingdom of heaven will be theirs.നീതിനിമിത്തം ഉപദ്രവിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യം അവർക്കുള്ളതു.

11 Happy are you when men give you a bad name, and are cruel to you, and say all evil things against you falsely, because of me.എന്റെ നിമിത്തം നിങ്ങളെ പഴിക്കയും ഉപദ്രവിക്കയും നിങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ടു എല്ലാ തിന്മയും കളവായി പറകയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ.

12 Be glad and full of joy; for great is your reward in heaven: for so were the prophets attacked who were before you.സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രതിഫലം വലുതാകകൊണ്ടു സന്തോഷിച്ചുല്ലസിപ്പിൻ; നിങ്ങൾക്കു മുമ്പെയുണ്ടായിരുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാരെയും അവർ അങ്ങനെതന്നെ ഉപദ്രവിച്ചുവല്ലോ.

13 You are the salt of the earth; but if its taste goes from the salt, how will you make it salt again? it is then good for nothing but to be put out and crushed under foot by men.നിങ്ങൾ ഭൂമിയുടെ ഉപ്പാകുന്നു; ഉപ്പു കാരമില്ലാതെപോയാൽ അതിന്നു എന്തൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു രസം വരുത്താം? പുറത്തു കളഞ്ഞിട്ടു മനുഷ്യർ ചവിട്ടുവാൻ അല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നിന്നും പിന്നെ കൊള്ളുന്നതല്ല.

14 You are the light of the world. A town put on a hill may be seen by all.നിങ്ങൾ ലോകത്തിന്റെ വെളിച്ചം ആകുന്നു; മലമേൽ ഇരിക്കുന്ന പട്ടണം മറഞ്ഞിരിപ്പാൻ പാടില്ല.

15 And a burning light is not put under a vessel, but on its table; so that its rays may be shining on all who are in the house.വിളക്കു കത്തിച്ചു പറയിൻകീഴല്ല തണ്ടിന്മേലത്രെ വെക്കുന്നതു; അപ്പോൾ അതു വീട്ടിലുള്ള എല്ലാവർക്കും പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നു.

16 Even so let your light be shining before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ മനുഷ്യർ നിങ്ങളുടെ നല്ല പ്രവൃത്തികളെ കണ്ടു, സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിനെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ വെളിച്ചം അവരുടെ മുമ്പിൽ പ്രകാശിക്കട്ടെ.

17 Let there be no thought that I have come to put an end to the law or the prophets. I have not come for destruction, but to make complete.ഞാൻ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെയൊ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെയോ നീക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വന്നു എന്നു നിരൂപിക്കരുതു; നീക്കുവാനല്ല നിവർത്തിപ്പാനത്രെ ഞാൻ വന്നതു.

18 Truly I say to you, Till heaven and earth come to an end, not the smallest letter or part of a letter will in any way be taken from the law, till all things are done.സത്യമായിട്ടു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുംവരെ സകലവും നിവൃത്തിയാകുവോളം ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽനിന്നു ഒരു വള്ളി എങ്കിലും പുള്ളി എങ്കിലും ഒരുനാളും ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകയില്ല.

19 Whoever then goes against the smallest of these laws, teaching men to do the same, will be named least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who keeps the laws, teaching others to keep them, will be named great in the kingdom of heaven.ആകയാൽ ഈ ഏറ്റവും ചെറിയ കല്പനകളിൽ ഒന്നു അഴിക്കയും മനുഷ്യരെ അങ്ങനെ പഠിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ ഏറ്റവും ചെറിയവൻ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും; അവയെ ആചരിക്കയും പഠിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്നോ സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ വലിയവൻ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും.

20 For I say to you, If your righteousness is not greater than the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never go into the kingdom of heaven.നിങ്ങളുടെ നീതി ശാസ്ത്രിമാരുടെയും പരീശന്മാരുടെയും നീതിയെ കവിയുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾ സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ കടക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

21 You have knowledge that it was said in old times, You may not put to death; and, Whoever puts to death will be in danger of being judged:കുല ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നും ആരെങ്കിലും കുല ചെയ്താൽ ന്യായവിധിക്കു യോഗ്യനാകും എന്നും പൂർവ്വന്മാരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

22 But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be in danger of being judged; and he who says to his brother, Raca, will be in danger from the Sanhedrin; and whoever says, You foolish one, will be in danger of the hell of fire.ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതു: സഹോദരനോടു കോപിക്കുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം ന്യായവിധിക്കു യോഗ്യനാകും: സഹോദരനോടു നിസ്സാര എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാലോ ന്യായാധിപസഭയുടെ മുമ്പിൽ നിൽക്കേണ്ടി വരും; മൂഢാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാലോ അഗ്നിനരകത്തിനു യോഗ്യനാകും.

23 If then you are making an offering at the altar and there it comes to your mind that your brother has something against you,ആകയാൽ നിന്റെ വഴിപാടു യാഗപീഠത്തിങ്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുമ്പോൾ സഹോദരന്നു നിന്റെ നേരെ വല്ലതും ഉണ്ടെന്നു അവിടെവെച്ചു ഓർമ്മവന്നാൽ

24 While your offering is still before the altar, first go and make peace with your brother, then come and make your offering.നിന്റെ വഴിപാടു അവിടെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വെച്ചേച്ചു, ഒന്നാമതു ചെന്നു സഹോദരനോടു നിരന്നുകൊൾക; പിന്നെ വന്നു നിന്റെ വഴിപാടു കഴിക്ക.

25 Come to an agreement quickly with him who has a cause against you at law, while you are with him on the way, for fear that he may give you up to the judge and the judge may give you to the police and you may be put into prison.നിന്റെ പ്രതിയോഗിയോടുകൂടെ വഴിയിൽ ഉള്ളപ്പോൾ തന്നേ വേഗത്തിൽ അവനോടു ഇണങ്ങിക്കൊൾക; അല്ലാഞ്ഞാൽ പ്രതിയോഗി നിന്നെ ന്യായാധിപന്നും ന്യായാധിപൻ ചേവകന്നും ഏല്പിച്ചിട്ടു നീ തടവിൽ ആയ്പോകും.

26 Truly I say to you, You will not come out from there till you have made payment of the very last farthing.ഒടുവിലത്തെ കാശുപോലും കൊടുത്തു തീരുവോളം നീ അവിടെനിന്നു പുറത്തു വരികയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു.

27 You have knowledge that it was said, You may not have connection with another man's wife:വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

28 But I say to you that everyone whose eyes are turned on a woman with desire has had connection with her in his heart.ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതു: സ്ത്രീയെ മോഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവളെ നോക്കുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം ഹൃദയംകൊണ്ടു അവളോടു വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്തുപോയി.

29 And if your right eye is a cause of trouble to you, take it out and put it away from you; because it is better to undergo the loss of one part, than for all your body to go into hell.എന്നാൽ വലങ്കണ്ണു നിനക്കു ഇടർച്ചവരുത്തുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അതിനെ ചൂന്നെടുത്തു എറിഞ്ഞുകളക; നിന്റെ ശരീരം മുഴുവനും നരകത്തിൽ വീഴുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ നിന്റെ അവയവങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നു നശിക്കുന്നതു നിനക്കു പ്രയോജനമത്രേ.

30 And if your right hand is a cause of trouble to you, let it be cut off and put it away from you; because it is better to undergo the loss of one part, than for all your body to go into hell.വലങ്കൈ നിനക്കു ഇടർച്ചവരുത്തുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അതിനെ വെട്ടി എറിഞ്ഞുകളക; നിന്റെ ശരീരം മുഴുവനും നരകത്തിൽ പോകുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ അവയവങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നു നശിക്കുന്നതു നിനക്കു പ്രയോജനമത്രേ.

31 Again, it was said, Whoever puts away his wife has to give her a statement in writing for this purpose:ആരെങ്കിലും ഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചാൽ അവൾക്കു ഉപേക്ഷണപത്രം കൊടുക്കട്ടെ എന്നും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

32 But I say to you that everyone who puts away his wife for any other cause but the loss of her virtue, makes her false to her husband; and whoever takes her as his wife after she is put away, is no true husband to her.ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതു: പരസംഗം ഹേതുവായിട്ടല്ലാതെ ഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവനെല്ലാം അവളെക്കൊണ്ടു വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യിക്കുന്നു; ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചവളെ ആരെങ്കിലും വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചാൽ വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

33 Again, you have knowledge that it was said in old times, Do not take false oaths, but give effect to your oaths to the Lord:കള്ളസത്യം ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നും സത്യം ചെയ്തതു കർത്താവിന്നു നിവർത്തിക്കേണം എന്നും പൂർവ്വന്മാരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

34 But I say to you, Take no oaths at all: not by the heaven, because it is the seat of God;ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതു: അശേഷം സത്യം ചെയ്യരുതു; സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തെക്കൊണ്ടു അരുതു, അതു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സിംഹാസനം;

35 Or by the earth, because it is the resting-place for his foot; or by Jerusalem, because it is the town of the great King.ഭൂമിയെക്കൊണ്ടു അരുതു, അതു അവന്റെ പാദപീഠം; യെരൂശലേമിനെക്കൊണ്ടു അരുതു, അതു മഹാരാജാവിന്റെ നഗരം

36 You may not take an oath by your head, because you are not able to make one hair white or black.നിന്റെ തലയെക്കൊണ്ടും സത്യം ചെയ്യരുതു; ഒരു രോമവും വെളുപ്പിപ്പാനോ കറുപ്പിപ്പാനോ നിനക്കു കഴികയില്ലല്ലോ.

37 But let your words be simply, Yes or No: and whatever is more than these is of the Evil One.നിങ്ങളുടെ വാക്കു ഉവ്വു, ഉവ്വു എന്നും ഇല്ല, ഇല്ല എന്നും ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ; ഇതിൽ അധികമായതു ദുഷ്ടനിൽനിന്നു വരുന്നു.

38 You have knowledge that it was said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:കണ്ണിനു പകരം കണ്ണും പല്ലിന്നു പകരം പല്ലും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

39 But I say to you, Do not make use of force against an evil man; but to him who gives you a blow on the right side of your face let the left be turned.ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതു: ദുഷ്ടനോടു എതിർക്കരുതു; നിന്നെ വലത്തെ ചെകിട്ടത്തു അടിക്കുന്നവന്നു മറ്റേതും തിരിച്ചുകാണിക്ക.

40 And if any man goes to law with you and takes away your coat, do not keep back your robe from him.നിന്നോടു വ്യവഹരിച്ചു നിന്റെ വസ്ത്രം എടുപ്പാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവനു നിന്റെ പുതപ്പും വിട്ടുകൊടുക്ക.

41 And whoever makes you go one mile, go with him two.ഒരുത്തൻ നിന്നെ ഒരു നാഴിക വഴി പോകുവാൻ നിർബ്ബന്ധിച്ചാൽ രണ്ടു അവനോടുകൂടെ പോക.

42 Give to him who comes with a request, and keep not your property from him who would for a time make use of it.നിന്നോടു യാചിക്കുന്നവനു കൊടുക്ക; വായിപ്പവാങ്ങുവാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവനെ ഒഴിഞ്ഞുകളയരുതു.

43 You have knowledge that it was said, Have love for your neighbour, and hate for him who is against you:കൂട്ടുകാരനെ സ്നേഹിക്ക എന്നും ശത്രുവിനെ പകെക്ക എന്നും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

44 But I say to you, Have love for those who are against you, and make prayer for those who are cruel to you;ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതു: നിങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കളെ സ്നേഹിപ്പിൻ; നിങ്ങളെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്നവർക്കു വേണ്ടി പ്രാർത്ഥിപ്പിൻ;

45 So that you may be the sons of your Father in heaven; for his sun gives light to the evil and to the good, and he sends rain on the upright man and on the sinner.സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിന്നു പുത്രന്മാരായി തീരേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ; അവൻ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെമേലും നല്ലവരുടെമേലും തന്റെ സൂര്യനെ ഉദിപ്പിക്കയും നീതിമാന്മാരുടെമേലും നീതികെട്ടവരുടെ മേലും മഴപെയ്യിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നുവല്ലോ.

46 For if you have love for those who have love for you, what credit is it to you? do not the tax-farmers the same?നിങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവരെ സ്നേഹിച്ചാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു എന്തു പ്രതിഫലം? ചുങ്കക്കാരും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലയോ?

47 And if you say, Good day, to your brothers only, what do you do more than others? do not even the Gentiles the same?സഹോദരന്മാരെ മാത്രം വന്ദനം ചെയ്താൽ നിങ്ങൾ എന്തു വിശേഷം ചെയ്യുന്നു? ജാതികളും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലയോ?

48 Be then complete in righteousness, even as your Father in heaven is complete.ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ സ്വർഗ്ഗീയപിതാവു സൽഗുണപൂർണ്ണൻ ആയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളും സൽഗുണപൂർണ്ണരാകുവിൻ.”
