കഷ്ടാരിഷ്ടതകളുടെ കാലത്തു യെരൂശലേം പണ്ടത്തെ മനോഹരവസ്തുക്കളെയൊക്കെയും ഓർക്കുന്നു; സഹായിപ്പാൻ ആരുമില്ലാതെ അവളുടെ ജനം വൈരിയുടെ കയ്യിൽ അകപ്പെട്ടപ്പോൾ, വൈരികൾ അവളെ നോക്കി അവളുടെ നാശത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ചിരിച്ചു.

her pleasant things	מַחֲמֻדֶ֔יהָ	maḥmud	mahk-MOOD
that	אֲשֶׁ֥ר	ʾăšer	uh-SHER
she had	הָי֖וּ	hāyâ	ha-YA
in the days	מִ֣ימֵי	yôm	yome
of old,	קֶ֑דֶם	qedem	keh-DEM
fell	בִּנְפֹ֧ל	nāpal	na-FAHL
when her people	עַמָּ֣הּ	ʿam	am
into the hand	בְּיַד	yād	yahd
of the enemy,	צָ֗ר	ṣar	tsahr
and none	וְאֵ֤ין	ʾayin	ah-YEEN
did help	עוֹזֵר֙	ʿāzar	ah-ZAHR
	לָ֔הּ
saw	רָא֣וּהָ	rāʾâ	ra-AH
her: the adversaries	צָרִ֔ים	ṣar	tsahr
her, did mock	שָׂחֲק֖וּ	śāḥaq	sa-HAHK
at	עַ֥ל	ʿal	al
