1 They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, will he return to her again? Won't that land be greatly polluted? But you have played the prostitute with many lovers; yet return again to me, says Yahweh.ഒരു പുരുഷൻ തന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കയും അവൾ അവനെ വിട്ടുപോയി മറ്റൊരു പുരുഷന്നു ഭാര്യയായി തീരുകയും ചെയ്തശേഷം അവൻ അവളുടെ അടുക്കൽ വീണ്ടും ചെല്ലുമോ? അങ്ങനെയുള്ള ദേശം മലിനമായ്പോകയില്ലയോ? നീയോ, പല ജാരന്മാരുമായി പരസംഗം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്നിട്ടും എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിവരുവാൻ നീ വിചാരിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

2 Lift up your eyes to the bare heights, and see; where have you not been lain with? By the ways have you sat for them, as an Arabian in the wilderness; and you have polluted the land with your prostitution and with your wickedness.മൊട്ടക്കുന്നുകളിലേക്കു തലപൊക്കി നോക്കുക; നീ പരസംഗം ചെയ്യാത്ത സ്ഥലം ഏതുള്ളു? മരുഭൂമിയിൽ അരാബ്യർ എന്ന പോലെ നീ വഴികളിൽ അവർക്കായി പതിയിരുന്നു; നിന്റെ പരസംഗത്താലും വഷളത്വത്താലും ദേശത്തെ മലിനമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

3 Therefore the showers have been withheld, and there has been no latter rain; yet you have a prostitute's forehead, you refused to be ashamed.അതുകൊണ്ടു മഴ നിന്നുപോയി; പിന്മഴ പെയ്തതുമില്ല; എന്നിട്ടും നീ വേശ്യയുടെ നെറ്റി കാണിച്ചു, നാണിക്കാതെയിരിക്കുന്നു.

4 Will you not from this time cry to me, My Father, you are the guide of my youth?നീ ഇന്നുമുതൽ എന്നോടു: എന്റെ പിതാവേ, നീ എന്റെ യൌവനത്തിലെ സഖി എന്നു വിളിച്ചുപറകയില്ലയോ?

5 Will he retain [his anger] forever? will he keep it to the end? Behold, you have spoken and have done evil things, and have had your way.അവൻ എന്നേക്കും കോപം സംഗ്രഹിക്കുമോ? അവൻ സദാകാലം ദ്വേഷം വെച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമോ? എന്നിങ്ങനെ നീ പറഞ്ഞു ദുഷ്ടതകളെ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു നിനക്കു സാധിച്ചിമിരിക്കുന്നു.

6 Moreover Yahweh said to me in the days of Josiah the king, Have you seen that which backsliding Israel has done? she is gone up on every high mountain and under every green tree, and there has played the prostitute.യോശീയാരാജാവിന്റെ കാലത്തു യഹോവ എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു: വിശ്വാസത്യാഗിനിയായ യിസ്രായേൽ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നതു നീ കണ്ടുവോ? അവൾ ഉയരമുള്ള എല്ലാ മലകളിലും എല്ലാപച്ചമരത്തിൻ കീഴിലും ചെന്നു അവിടെ പരസംഗം ചെയ്തു.

7 I said after she had done all these things, She will return to me; but she didn't return: and her treacherous sister Judah saw it.ഇതൊക്കെയും ചെയ്തശേഷം അവൾ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിവരും എന്നു ഞാൻ വിചാരിച്ചു: എന്നാൽ അവൾ മടങ്ങിവന്നില്ല; വിശ്വാസപാതകിയായ യെഹൂദാ എന്ന അവളുടെ സഹോദരി അതു കണ്ടു.

8 I saw, when, for this very cause that backsliding Israel had committed adultery, I had put her away and given her a bill of divorce, yet treacherous Judah, her sister, didn't fear; but she also went and played the prostitute.വിശ്വാസത്യാഗിനിയായ യിസ്രായേൽ വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്ത ഹേതുവാൽ തന്നേ ഞാൻ അവളെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു ഉപേക്ഷണപത്രം കൊടുത്തതു വിശ്വാസപാതകിയായ യെഹൂദാ എന്ന അവളുടെ സഹോദരി കണ്ടിട്ടും ഭയപ്പെടാതെ അവളും ചെന്നു പരസംഗം ചെയ്തു.

9 It happened through the lightness of her prostitution, that the land was polluted, and she committed adultery with stones and with stocks.മനോലഘുത്വത്തോടെ ചെയ്ത അവളുടെ പരസംഗംഹേതുവായി ദേശം മലിനമായ്പോയി; കല്ലിനോടും മരത്തോടും അവൾ വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്തു.

10 Yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah has not returned to me with her whole heart, but only in pretense, says Yahweh.ഇതെല്ലാമായിട്ടും വിശ്വാസപാതകിയായ സഹോദരി യെഹൂദാ കപടമായിട്ടല്ലാതെ പൂർണ്ണഹൃദയത്തോടെ എന്റെ അടുക്കലേക്കു മടങ്ങിവന്നിട്ടില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

11 Yahweh said to me, Backsliding Israel has shown herself more righteous than treacherous Judah.വിശ്വാസത്യാഗിനിയായ യിസ്രായേൽ വിശ്വാസപാതകിയായ യെഹൂദയെക്കാൾ നീതിയുള്ളവളെന്നു യഹോവ എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

12 Go, and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, you backsliding Israel, says Yahweh; I will not look in anger on you; for I am merciful, says Yahweh, I will not keep [anger] forever.നീ ചെന്നു വടക്കോട്ടു നോക്കി ഈ വചനങ്ങളെ വിളിച്ചുപറക: വിശ്വാസത്യാഗിനിയായ യിസ്രായേലേ, മടങ്ങിവരിക എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു. ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു കോപം കാണിക്കയില്ല; ഞാൻ കരുണയുള്ളവൻ; എന്നേക്കും കോപം സംഗ്രഹിക്കയുമില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

13 Only acknowledge your iniquity, that you have transgressed against Yahweh your God, and have scattered your ways to the strangers under every green tree, and you have not obeyed my voice, says Yahweh.നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോടു നീ ദ്രോഹം ചെയ്തു. പച്ചമരത്തിൻ കീഴിലൊക്കെയും അന്യന്മാരോടു ദുർമ്മാർഗ്ഗമായി നടന്നതും എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടനുസരിക്കാതെ ഇരുന്നതുമായ നിന്റെ അകൃത്യം സമ്മതിക്കമാത്രം ചെയ്ക എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

14 Return, backsliding children, says Yahweh; for I am a husband to you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:വിശ്വാസത്യാഗികളായ മക്കളേ, മടങ്ങിവരുവിൻ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; ഞാനല്ലോ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭർത്താവു; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ പട്ടണത്തിൽ ഒരുത്തനെയും വംശത്തിൽ രണ്ടുപേരെയും വീതം എടുത്തു സീയോനിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവരും.

15 and I will give you shepherds according to my heart, who shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു എന്റെ മനസ്സിന്നൊത്ത ഇടയന്മാരെ നല്കും; അവർ നിങ്ങളെ ജ്ഞാനത്തോടും ബുദ്ധിയോടും കൂടെ മേയിക്കും.

16 It shall come to pass, when you are multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, says Yahweh, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of Yahweh; neither shall it come to mind; neither shall they remember it; neither shall they miss it; neither shall it be made any more.അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾ ദേശത്തു വർദ്ധിച്ചുപെരുകുമ്പോൾ ആ കാലത്തു: യഹോവയുടെ നിയമപെട്ടകം എന്നു ഇനി പറകയില്ല, അതു മനസ്സിൽ വരികയില്ല, അതിനെ ഓർക്കയില്ല, ചെന്നു കാണുകയില്ല, ഇനി അതു ഉണ്ടാക്കുകയുമില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

17 At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of Yahweh; and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of Yahweh, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the stubbornness of their evil heart.ആ കാലത്തു യെരൂശലേമിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ സിംഹാസനം എന്നു പേരാകും; സകലജാതികളും അവിടേക്കു, യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു തന്നേ, യഹോവയുടെ നാമം നിമിത്തം വന്നു ചേരും; തങ്ങളുടെ ദുഷ്ടഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ ശാഠ്യപ്രകാരം ഇനി നടക്കയുമില്ല.

18 In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I gave for an inheritance to your fathers.ആ കാലത്തു യെഹൂദാഗൃഹം യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹത്തോടു ചേർന്നു, അവർ ഒന്നിച്ചു വടക്കെ, ദിക്കിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്കു അവകാശമായി കൊടുത്ത ദേശത്തേക്കു വരും.

19 But I said, How I will put you among the children, and give you a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of the nations! and I said, You shall call me My Father, and shall not turn away from following me.ഞാനോ നിന്നെ ദത്തെടുത്തു, നിനക്കു ജാതികളുടെ അതിഭംഗിയുള്ള അവകാശമായ മനോഹരദേശം നല്കേണ്ടതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു വിചാരിച്ചു; നീ എന്നെ: എന്റെ പിതാവേ എന്നു വിളിക്കും, എന്നെ വിട്ടുമാറുകയുമില്ല എന്നും ഞാൻ വിചാരിച്ചു.

20 Surely as a wife treacherously departs from her husband, so have you dealt treacherously with me, house of Israel, says Yahweh.യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹമേ, ഒരു ഭാര്യ ഭർത്താവിനോടു വിശ്വാസപാതകം ചെയ്തു അവനെ വിട്ടുകളയുന്നതുപോലെ നിങ്ങൾ എന്നോടു വിശ്വാസപാതകം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

21 A voice is heard on the bare heights, the weeping [and] the petitions of the children of Israel; because they have perverted their way, they have forgotten Yahweh their God.യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ വളഞ്ഞ വഴികളിൽ നടന്നു തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ മറന്നുകളഞ്ഞതിനാൽ അവർ മൊട്ടക്കുന്നുകളിന്മേൽ കരഞ്ഞു യാചിക്കുന്നതു കേൾക്കുന്നു!

22 Return, you backsliding children, I will heal your backsliding. Behold, we are come to you; for you are Yahweh our God.വിശ്വാസ ത്യാഗികളായ മക്കളേ, മടങ്ങിവരുവിൻ; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ വിശ്വാസത്യാഗം മാറ്റിത്തരാം. ഇതാ, ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നു; നീ ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയല്ലോ.

23 Truly in vain is [the help that is looked for] from the hills, the tumult on the mountains: truly in Yahweh our God is the salvation of Israel.കുന്നുകളും പർവ്വതങ്ങളിലെ കോലാഹലവും വ്യർത്ഥം; ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയിൽ മാത്രമേ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രക്ഷയുള്ളു.

24 But the shameful thing has devoured the labor of our fathers from our youth, their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters.ലജ്ജാവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളോ ഞങ്ങളുടെ യൌവനംമുതൽ ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ സമ്പാദ്യത്തെയും അവരുടെ ആടുകളെയും കന്നുകാലികളെയും അവരുടെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും തിന്നുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

25 Let us lie down in our shame, and let our confusion cover us; for we have sinned against Yahweh our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even to this day; and we have not obeyed the voice of Yahweh our God.ഞങ്ങൾ ഞങ്ങളുടെ ലജ്ജയിൽ തന്നേ കിടക്കട്ടെ; ഞങ്ങളുടെ നാണം ഞങ്ങളെ മൂടട്ടെ; ഞങ്ങളും ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരും യൌവനംമുതൽ ഇന്നുവരെയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോടു പാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ വാക്കു കേട്ടനുസരിച്ചിട്ടുമില്ല.
