ബലമുള്ള ആടുകൾ ചനയേല്ക്കുമ്പോഴൊക്കെയും കൊമ്പുകളെ കണ്ടുകൊണ്ടു ചനയേൽക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യാക്കോബ് ആ കൊമ്പുകളെ പാത്തികളിൽ ആടുകളുടെ കണ്ണിന്നു മുമ്പിൽ വെച്ചു.

that Jacob יַֽעֲקֹ֧ב yaʿăqōb ya-uh-KOVE
אֶת ʾēt ate
the rods הַמַּקְל֛וֹת maqqēl ma-KALE
before the eyes לְעֵינֵ֥י ʿayin ah-YEEN
of the cattle הַצֹּ֖אן ṣōn tsone
in the gutters, בָּרֳהָטִ֑ים rahaṭ ra-HAHT
that they might conceive לְיַחְמֵ֖נָּה yāḥam ya-HAHM
among the rods. בַּמַּקְלֽוֹת׃ maqqēl ma-KALE
