16 ജ്ഞാനം ബലത്തെക്കാൾ നല്ലതു തന്നേ, എങ്കിലും സാധുവിന്റെ ജ്ഞാനം തുച്ഛീകരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു; അവന്റെ വാക്കു ആരും കൂട്ടാക്കുന്നതുമില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
17 മൂഢന്മാരെ ഭരിക്കുന്നവന്റെ അട്ടഹാസത്തെക്കാൾ സാവധാനത്തിൽ പറയുന്ന ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ വചനങ്ങൾ നല്ലതു.
18 യുദ്ധായുധങ്ങളെക്കാളും ജ്ഞാനം നല്ലതു; എന്നാൽ ഒരൊറ്റ പാപി വളരെ നന്മ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.
16 Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.
17 The words of wise men are heard in quiet more than the cry of him that ruleth among fools.
18 Wisdom is better than weapons of war: but one sinner destroyeth much good.
