എന്നാൽ ഒരുത്തൻ യദൃച്ഛയാ വില്ലു കുലെച്ചു യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവിനെ കവചത്തിന്നും പതക്കത്തിന്നും ഇടെക്കു എയ്തു; അവൻ തന്റെ സാരഥിയോടു: നിന്റെ കൈ തിരിച്ചു എന്നെ പടയിൽനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുപോക; ഞാൻ കഠിനമായി മുറിവേറ്റിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

drew	מָשַׁ֤ךְ	māšak	ma-SHAHK
a bow	בַּקֶּ֙שֶׁת֙	qešet	keh-SHET
at a venture,	לְתֻמּ֔וֹ	tōm	tome
and smote	וַיַּךְ֙	nākâ	na-HA
	אֶת	ʾēt	ate
the king	מֶ֣לֶךְ	melek	meh-LEK
of Israel	יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל	yiśrāʾēl	yees-ra-ALE
between	בֵּ֥ין	bên	bane
the joints	הַדְּבָקִ֖ים	debeq	deh-VEK
	וּבֵ֣ין	bên	bane
of the harness:	הַשִּׁרְיָ֑ן	širyôn	sheer-YONE
therefore he said	וַיֹּ֣אמֶר	ʾāmar	ah-MAHR
to his chariot man,	לָֽרַכָּ֗ב	rakkāb	ra-KAHV
Turn	הֲפֹ֧ךְ	hāpak	ha-FAHK
thine hand,	יָדְיךָ֛	yād	yahd
that thou mayest carry me out	וְהֽוֹצֵאתַ֥נִי	yāṣāʾ	ya-TSA
of	מִן	min	meen
the host;	הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֖ה	maḥăne	ma-huh-NEH
for	כִּ֥י	kî	kee
I am wounded.	הָֽחֳלֵֽיתִי׃	ḥālâ	ha-LA
