அங்கேயிருந்து கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் சகல பொக்கிஷங்களையும், ராஜாவுடைய அரமனையின் பொக்கிஷங்களையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தில் உண்டாக்கியிருந்த பொன் பணிமுட்டுகளையெல்லாம், கர்த்தர் சொல்லியிருந்தபடியே உடைத்துப்போட்டு,

அவன் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தின் பெரிதும் சிறிதுமான பணிமுட்டுகளனைத்தையும், கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் பொக்கிஷங்களும் ராஜாவுக்கும் அவன் பிரபுக்களுக்கும் இருந்த பொக்கிஷங்களுமாகிய அனைத்தையும் பாபிலோனுக்குக் கொண்டுபோனான்.

அப்பொழுது நான் ஆசாரியராகிய செலேமியாவையும் வேதபாரகனாகிய சாதோக்கையும் லேவியரில் பெதாயாவையும், இவர்களுக்குக் கைத்துணையாக மத்தனியாவின் குமாரன்சக்கூரின் மகனாகிய ஆனானையும் பொக்கிஷ அறைகளின்மேல் விசாரிப்புக்காரராக வைத்தேன்; அவர்கள் உண்மையுள்ளவர்களென்று எண்ணப்பட்டார்கள்; ஆகையால் தங்கள் சகோதரருக்குப் பங்கிடுகிற வேலை அவர்களுக்கு ஒப்புவிக்கப்பட்டது.
