1 Take heed that ye do not your righteousness before men, to be seen of them: else ye have no reward with your Father who is in heaven.ಜನರು ನೋಡಲಿ ಎಂದು ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದಾನವನ್ನು ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಮಾಡದಂತೆ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ತಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ; ಇಲ್ಲವಾದರೆ ಪರಲೋಕ ದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯಿಂದ ನಿಮಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲ ಸಿಗಲಾರದು.

2 When therefore thou doest alms, sound not a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have received their reward.ಆದದರಿಂದ ಕಪಟಿಗಳು ಜನರಿಂದ ಹೊಗಳಿಸಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಸಭಾಮಂದಿರಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಬೀದಿಗಳ ಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ನೀನು ದಾನ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ತುತ್ತೂರಿಯನ್ನೂದಬೇಡ. ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ--ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ದಾನಮಾಡುವಾಗ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಲಗೈ ಮಾಡುವದು ನಿನ್ನ ಎಡಗೈಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯದಿರಲಿ.

4 that thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father who seeth in secret shall recompense thee.ಹೀಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ದಾನವು ಅಂತರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿರುವದು; ಮತ್ತು ಅಂತರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡುವ ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ತಾನೇ ಬಹಿರಂಗವಾಗಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲ ಕೊಡುವನು.

5 And when ye pray, ye shall not be as the hypocrites: for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have received their reward.ನೀನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಕಪಟಿಗಳಂತೆ ಇರಬೇಡ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಜನರು ನೋಡುವಂತೆ ಸಭಾಮಂದಿರಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಬೀದಿಗಳ ಮೂಲೆಗಳ ಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಿಂತು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡುವದನ್ನು ಅವರು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುವ ದೇನಂದರೆ--ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿ ದ್ದಾರೆ.

6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thine inner chamber, and having shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret, and thy Father who seeth in secret shall recompense thee.ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೋಣೆಯೊಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಬಾಗಿಲನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿ ಅಂತರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡು; ಆಗ ಅಂತರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡುವ ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ಬಹಿರಂಗವಾಗಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲ ಕೊಡುವನು.

7 And in praying use not vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಅನ್ಯರು ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಪದೇಪದೇ ಹೇಳ ಬೇಡಿರಿ ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ತಾವು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡು ವದರಿಂದ ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯು ಕೇಳಲ್ಪಡುವದೆಂದು ಅವರು ಯೋಚಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.

8 Be not therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.ಆದದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಅವರಂತೆ ಇರಬೇಡಿರಿ; ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆಯೇ ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ರುವವುಗಳು ಯಾವವು ಎಂಬದು ಆತನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದದೆ.

9 After this manner therefore pray ye. Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.ಆದದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಈ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡಿರಿ--ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ನಾಮವು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧವಾಗಿರಲಿ. ನಿನ್ನ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಬರಲಿ.

10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so on earth.ನಿನ್ನ ಚಿತ್ತವು ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆರವೇರು ವಂತೆ ಭೂಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನೆರೆವೇರಲಿ.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.ನಮ್ಮ ಅನುದಿನದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಈ ದಿನವು ನಮಗೆ ದಯಪಾಲಿಸು.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.ನಮ್ಮ ಸಾಲಗಾರರನ್ನು ನಾವು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸುವಂತೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಸಾಲಗಳನ್ನು ನಮಗೆ ಕ್ಷಮಿಸು.

13 And bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil `one.'ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಶೋಧನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ನಡಿಸದೆ ಕೇಡಿನಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ರಾಜ್ಯವೂ ಬಲವೂ ಮಹಿಮೆಯೂ ಎಂದೆಂದಿಗೂ ನಿನ್ನವೇ. ಆಮೆನ್‌.

14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.ಆದದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಅಪರಾಧ ಗಳನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸುವದಾದರೆ ಪರಲೋಕದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯು ಸಹ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸುವನು.

15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.ನೀವು ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಅಪರಾಧಗಳನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸದೆ ಹೋದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಅಪರಾಧಗಳನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸು ವದಿಲ್ಲ.

16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may be seen of men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have received their reward.ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನೀವು ಉಪವಾಸ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಕಪಟಿಗಳ ಹಾಗೆ ವ್ಯಸನದ ಮುಖ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳ ಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ತಾವು ಉಪವಾಸವಾಗಿ ದ್ದೇವೆಂದು ಜನರಿಗೆ ತೋರುವಂತೆ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಮುಖಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ--ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರತಿ

17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thy head, and wash thy face;ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ಉಪವಾಸ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ನಿನ್ನ ತಲೆಗೆ ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಹಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡು ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ತೊಳೆದುಕೋ.

18 that thou be not seen of men to fast, but of thy Father who is in secret: and thy Father, who seeth in secret, shall recompense thee.ಆಗ ನೀನು ಉಪವಾಸಮಾಡುತ್ತೀ ಎಂದು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಕಾಣದಿದ್ದರೂ ಅಂತರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೆ ಕಾಣುವದು. ಮತ್ತು ಅಂತರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡುವ ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ಬಹಿರಂಗವಾಗಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲ ಕೊಡುವನು.

19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal:ಭೂಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನುಸಿಯೂ ಕಿಲುಬೂ ಅದನ್ನು ಹಾಳುಮಾಡುವದು; ಮತ್ತು ಕಳ್ಳರು ಕನ್ನಾ ಕೊರೆದು ಕದಿಯುವರು.

20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth consume, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:ಆದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ; ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನುಸಿಯೂ ಕಿಲುಬೂ ಅದನ್ನು ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಮತ್ತು ಕಳ್ಳರು ಕನ್ನಾ ಕೊರೆದು ಕದಿಯುವದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.

21 for where thy treasure is, there will thy heart be also.ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೆಯೋ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯವೂ ಇರುವದು.

22 The lamp of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.ಕಣ್ಣು ಶರೀರದ ದೀಪವಾಗಿದೆ. ಆದಕಾರಣ ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣು ಶುದ್ಧವಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಶರೀರವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಬೆಳಕಾಗಿರುವದು.

23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is the darkness!ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣು ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಶರೀರವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕತ್ತಲಾಗಿರುವದು. ಆದದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬೆಳಕೇ ಕತ್ತಲಾಗಿರುವದಾದರೆ ಆ ಕತ್ತಲು ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಅಧಿಕವಾದದ್ದಾಗಿರುವದು.

24 No man can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.ಯಾವ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೂ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಯಜಮಾನರಿಗೆ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡಲಾರನು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡಿ ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಮಾಡುವನು; ಇಲ್ಲವಾದರೆ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿಕೊಂಡು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬ ನನ್ನು ಅಸಡ್ಡೆ ಮಾಡುವನು. ನೀವು ದೇವರನ್ನೂ ಧನವನ್ನೂ ಸೇವಿಸಲಾರಿರಿ.

25 Therefore I say unto you, be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than the food, and the body than the raiment?ಆದಕಾರಣ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವದೇ ನಂದರೆ--ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಣಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ನೀವು ಏನು ತಿನ್ನಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಏನು ಕುಡಿಯಬೇಕು ಎಂಬದರ ವಿಷಯಕ್ಕಾಗಲೀ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಶರೀರಕ್ಕೆ ನೀವು ಏನು ಹೊದ್ದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂತಾಗಲೀ ಚಿಂತೆ ಮಾಡ ಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಊಟಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಪ್ರಾಣವೂ ಉಡುಪಿಗಿಂತ ಶರೀರವೂ ಹೆ

26 Behold the birds of the heaven, that they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; and your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are not ye of much more value then they?ಆಕಾಶದ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿರಿ; ಅವು ಬಿತ್ತುವದಿಲ್ಲ, ಕೊಯ್ಯುವದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ, ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಕಣಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿಸಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳುವದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೂ ಪರಲೋಕದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಪೋಷಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅವುಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ನೀವು ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠರಾದವರಲ್ಲವೇ?

27 And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit unto the measure of his life?ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ನಾದರೂ ಚಿಂತೆಮಾಡಿ ತನ್ನ ನೀಳವನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಮೊಳ ಉದ್ದ ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದೀತೇ?

28 And why are ye anxious concerning raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:ಮತ್ತು ಉಡುಪಿಗಾಗಿ ನೀವು ಯಾಕೆ ಚಿಂತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀರಿ? ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ತಾವರೆಗಳು ಹೇಗೆ ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತವೆ ಎಂಬದನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿರಿ; ಅವು ಕಷ್ಟಪಡು ವದಿಲ್ಲ ಮತ್ತು ನೂಲುವದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.

29 yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.ಆದರೂ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ-- ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು ಸಹ ತನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವೈಭವದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಇವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದರಂತೆಯಾದರೂ ಧರಿಸಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

30 But if God doth so clothe the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, `shall he' not much more `clothe' you, O ye of little faith?ಆದದರಿಂದ ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಇದ್ದು ನಾಳೆ ಒಲೆಗೆ ಹಾಕಲ್ಪಡುವ ಹೊಲದ ಹುಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಉಡಿಸಿದರೆ ಓ ಅಲ್ಪ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಿಗಳೇ, ಆತನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಉಡಿಸುವನಲ್ಲವೇ?

31 Be not therefore anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?ಆದಕಾರಣ--ನಾವು ಏನು ಊಟಮಾಡಬೇಕು? ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಏನು ಕುಡಿಯಬೇಕು? ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಯಾವದನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾ ಚಿಂತೆಮಾಡ ಬೇಡಿರಿ.

32 For after all these things do the Gentiles seek; for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.(ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಇವೆಲ್ಲವುಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಅನ್ಯಜನರು ತವಕ ಪಡುತ್ತಾರೆ;) ಆದರೆ ಇವೆಲ್ಲವುಗಳು ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಾಗಿವೆ ಎಂದು ಪರಲೋಕದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಗೆ ತಿಳಿದದೆ.

33 But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.ಆದರೆ ಮೊದಲು ನೀವು ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ಆತನ ನೀತಿಯನ್ನೂ ಹುಡುಕಿರಿ. ಇವುಗಳ ಕೂಡ ಅವೆಲ್ಲವುಗಳು ಕೂಡಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವವು.

34 Be not therefore anxious for the morrow: for the morrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.ಆದಕಾರಣ ನಾಳೆಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಚಿಂತೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಾಳಿನ ದಿನವು ತನಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಪಟ್ಟವುಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ತಾನೇ ಚಿಂತಿಸುವದು. ಆ ದಿನಕ್ಕೆ ಅದರ ಕಾಟ ಸಾಕು.
