1 And he said also unto his disciples, `A certain man was rich, who had a steward, and he was accused to him as scattering his goods;ತರುವಾಯ ಆತನು ತನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಿಗೂ

2 and having called him, he said to him, What `is' this I hear about thee? render the account of thy stewardship, for thou mayest not any longer be steward.ಆಗ ಅವನು ಆ ಮನೆವಾರ್ತೆ ಯವನನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಇದೇನು ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಳುವದು? ಮನೆವಾರ್ತೆಯ ನಿನ್ನ ಲೆಕ್ಕವನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನೀನು ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ಮನೆವಾರ್ತೆಯವನಾಗಿರುವದಕ್ಕಾಗುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು.

3 `And the steward said in himself, What shall I do, because my lord doth take away the stewardship from me? to dig I am not able, to beg I am ashamed: --ಆಗ ಆ ಮನೆವಾರ್ತೆಯವನು ತನ್ನೊಳಗೆ--ನಾನೇನು ಮಾಡಲಿ? ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಮನೆವಾರ್ತೆಯ ಕೆಲಸದಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಬಿಡು ತ್ತಾನೆ; ನಾನು ಅಗೆಯಲಾರೆನು, ಭಿಕ್ಷೆ ಬೇಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು ನಾಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.

4 I have known what I shall do, that, when I may be removed from the stewardship, they may receive me to their houses.ಮನೆವಾರ್ತೆಯ ಕೆಲಸ ದಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ನಾನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾ ದದ್ದನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡನು.

5 `And having called near each one of his lord's debtors, he said to the first, How much dost thou owe to my lord?ಹೀಗೆ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಸಾಲಗಾರರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಮೊದಲನೆಯವನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನಿಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕಾದದ್ದು ಎಷ್ಟು ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು

6 and he said, A hundred baths of oil; and he said to him, Take thy bill, and having sat down write fifty.ಅವನು--ಒಂದು ನೂರು ಅಳತೆ ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಅಂದನು. ಆಗ ಅವನು--ನಿನ್ನ ಬೆಲೆ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೋ, ಮತ್ತು ಬೇಗ ಕೂತುಕೊಂಡು ಐವತ್ತು ಎಂದು ಬರೆ ಎಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.

7 `Afterward to another he said, And thou, how much dost thou owe? and he said, A hundred cors of wheat; and he saith to him, Take thy bill, and write eighty.ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕಾದದ್ದು ಎಷ್ಟು? ಅನ್ನಲು ಅವನು--ಒಂದು ನೂರು ಅಳತೆ ಗೋಧಿ ಅಂದನು. ಆಗ ಅವನು--ನಿನ್ನ ಬೆಲೆ ಪಟ್ಟಿ ಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಎಂಭತ್ತು ಎಂದು ಬರೆ ಅಂದನು.

8 `And the lord commended the unrighteous steward that he did prudently, because the sons of this age are more prudent than the sons of the light, in respect to their generation.ಆಗ ಯಜಮಾನನು ಅನ್ಯಾಯಗಾರನಾದ ಆ ಮನೆವಾರ್ತೆಯವನು ಜಾಣತನ ಮಾಡಿದನೆಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೊಗಳಿದನು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಈ ಲೋಕದ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂತತಿಯವರಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಕಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗಿಂತ ಜಾಣರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

9 and I say to you, Make to yourselves friends out of the mammon of unrighteousness, that when ye may fail, they may receive you to the age-during tabernacles.ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವದೇ ನಂದರೆ--ಅನ್ಯಾಯದ ಧನದಿಂದ ನಿಮಗೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ; ಅದು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋದಾಗ ಅವರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಿತ್ಯವಾದ ನಿವಾಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು.

10 `He who is faithful in the least, `is' also faithful in much; and he who in the least `is' unrighteous, is also unrighteous in much;ಯಾವನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವಾದದ್ದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತ ನಾಗಿರುವನೋ ಅವನು ಬಹಳವಾದದ್ದರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಯಾವನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವಾದದ್ದರಲ್ಲಿ ಅನ್ಯಾಯಗಾರನಾಗಿರುವನೋ ಅವನು ಬಹಳವಾದದ್ದ ರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅನ್ಯಾಯಗಾರನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

11 if, then, in the unrighteous mammon ye became not faithful -- the true who will entrust to you?ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅನ್ಯಾಯವಾದ ಧನದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತರಾಗಿರದಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿಜವಾದ ಧನವನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾರು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವರು?

12 and if in the other's ye became not faithful -- your own, who shall give to you?ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನದರಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತರಾಗಿರದಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಂತದ್ದನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಯಾರು ಕೊಡುವರು?

13 `No domestic is able to serve two lords, for either the one he will hate, and the other he will love; or one he will hold to, and of the other he will be heedless; ye are not able to serve God and mammon.'ಯಾವ ಸೇವಕನೂ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಯಜಮಾನರನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸಲಾರನು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡಿ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಸುವನು; ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿಕೊಂಡು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುವನು; ನೀವು ದೇವರನ್ನೂ ಧನವನ್ನೂ ಸೇವಿಸಲಾರಿರಿ ಅಂದನು.

14 And also the Pharisees, being lovers of money, were hearing all these things, and were deriding him,ಆಗ ಲೋಭಿ ಗಳಾದ ಫರಿಸಾಯರು ಸಹ ಇವೆಲ್ಲವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಆತನಿಗೆ ಪರಿಹಾಸ್ಯ ಮಾಡಿದರು.

15 and he said to them, `Ye are those declaring yourselves righteous before men, but God doth know your hearts; because that which among men is high, `is' abomination before God;ಆಗ ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಮುಂದೆ ನೀತಿವಂತರಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರು ನೀವೇ; ಆದರೆ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವದು ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವೆಂದು ಎಣಿಸಲ್ಪ ಡುತ್ತದೋ ಅದು ದೇವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ.

16 the law and the prophets `are' till John; since then the reign of God is proclaimed good news, and every one doth press into it;ನ್ಯಾಯ ಪ್ರಮಾಣವೂ ಪ್ರವಾದನೆಗಳೂ ಯೋಹಾ ನನವರೆಗೆ ಇದ್ದವು; ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಅಂದಿನಿಂದ ಸಾರಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದೆ, ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನು ಬಲವಂತದಿಂದ ಅದರೊಳಗೆ ನುಗ್ಗುತ್ತಾನೆ.

17 and it is easier to the heaven and the earth to pass away, than of the law one tittle to fall.ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಒಂದು ಗುಡುಸಾದರೂ ಬಿದ್ದು ಹೋಗುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಆಕಾಶವೂ ಭೂಮಿಯೂ ಅಳಿದು ಹೋಗುವದು ಸುಲಭ.

18 `Every one who is sending away his wife, and marrying another, doth commit adultery; and every one who is marrying her sent away from a husband doth commit adultery.ಯಾವನು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬಳನ್ನು ಮದುವೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೋ ಅವನು ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಯಾವನು ಗಂಡ ಬಿಟ್ಟವಳನ್ನು ಮದುವೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೋ ಅವನು ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.

19 `And -- a certain man was rich, and was clothed in purple and fine linen, making merry sumptuously every day,ಊದಾಬಣ್ಣದ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನೂ ನಯವಾದ ನಾರು ಮಡಿಯನ್ನೂ ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಪ್ರತಿದಿನವೂ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿ ಯಾಗಿ ಭೋಜನಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಒಬ್ಬಾನೊಬ್ಬ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯ ವಂತನಿದ್ದನು.

20 and there was a certain poor man, by name Lazarus, who was laid at his porch, full of sores,ಅವನ ಬಾಗಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಲಾಜರನೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಭಿಕ್ಷುಕನು ಬಿದ್ದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು; ಅವನು ಮೈ ತುಂಬಾ ಹುಣ್ಣೆದ್ದವನು.

21 and desiring to be filled from the crumbs that are falling from the table of the rich man; yea, also the dogs, coming, were licking his sores.ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನ ಮೇಜಿ ನಿಂದ ಬೀಳುವ (ರೊಟ್ಟಿ) ತುಂಡುಗಳನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು ಆಶೆಪಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು; ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನಾಯಿಗಳು ಬಂದು ಅವನ ಹುಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಕ್ಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದವು.

22 `And it came to pass, that the poor man died, and that he was carried away by the messengers to the bosom of Abraham -- and the rich man also died, and was buried;ಇದಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆ ಭಿಕ್ಷುಕನು ಸತ್ತನು; ದೂತರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಎದೆಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು; ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನು ಸಹ ಸತ್ತನು; ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೂಣಿ ಟ್ಟರು.

23 and in the hades having lifted up his eyes, being in torments, he doth see Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom,ಆಗ ಅವನು ಪಾತಾಳದೊಳಗೆ ಯಾತನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ದವನಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆತ್ತಿ ದೂರದಿಂದ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಎದೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಲಾಜರನನೂ ನೋಡಿದನು.

24 and having cried, he said, Father Abraham, deal kindly with me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and may cool my tongue, because I am distressed in this flame.ಅವನು--ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಅಬ್ರಹಾ ಮನೇ, ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕರುಣೆ ಇಟ್ಟು ಲಾಜರನು ತನ್ನ ತುದಿಬೆರಳನ್ನು ನೀರಲ್ಲಿ ಅದ್ದಿ ನನ್ನ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ತಣ್ಣಗೆ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಾನು ಈ ಉರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾತನೆಪಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು.

25 `And Abraham said, Child, remember that thou did receive -- thou -- thy good things in thy life, and Lazarus in like manner the evil things, and now he is comforted, and thou art distressed;ಆದರೆ ಅಬ್ರಹಾ ಮನು--ಮಗನೇ, ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಜೀವಿತಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದಿ; ಅದೇ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಲಾಜರನು ಕೆಟ್ಟವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ತಂದುಕೋ. ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ಅವನು ಆದರಣೆ ಹೊಂದುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ; ನೀನು ಯಾತನೆಪಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದೀ.

26 and besides all these things, between us and you a great chasm is fixed, so that they who are willing to go over from hence unto you are not able, nor do they from thence to us pass through.ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಡೆಗೆ ದಾಟ ಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವವರು ದಾಟದ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಬರಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವವರು ಬಾರದಂತೆಯೂ ನಮಗೂ ನಿಮಗೂ ನಡುವೆ ಒಂದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಅಗಾಧ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿಯದೆ ಅಂದನು.

27 `And he said, I pray thee, then, father, that thou mayest send him to the house of my father,ಆಗ ಅವನು--ಅಪ್ಪಾ, ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ನೀನು ಅವನನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಮನೆಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.

28 for I have five brothers, so that he may thoroughly testify to them, that they also may not come to this place of torment.ನನಗೆ ಐದುಮಂದಿ ಸಹೋದರರಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಅವರು ಸಹ ಈ ಯಾತನೆಯ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾರದ ಹಾಗೆ ಇವನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಕೊಡಲಿ ಅಂದನು.

29 `Abraham saith to him, They have Moses and the prophets, let them hear them;ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮೋಶೆಯೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳೂ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಅವರು ಕೇಳಲಿ ಅಂದನು.

30 and he said, No, father Abraham, but if any one from the dead may go unto them, they will reform.ಆಗ ಅವನು--ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ, ತಂದೆ ಯಾದ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನೇ, ಸತ್ತವರೊಳಗಿಂದ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಅವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಅವರು ಮಾನಸಾಂತರ ಪಡುವರು ಅಂದನು.

31 And he said to him, If Moses and the prophets they do not hear, neither if one may rise out of the dead will they be persuaded.'ಆದರೆ ಅವನು--ಅವರು ಮೋಶೆಯು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಸತ್ತವರೊಳಗಿಂದ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಎದ್ದರೂ ಅವರು ಒಪ್ಪುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
