1 And another time he said to the disciples, There was a certain man of great wealth who had a servant; and it was said to him that this servant was wasting his goods.ತರುವಾಯ ಆತನು ತನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಿಗೂ

2 And he sent for him and said, What is this which is said about you? give me an account of all you have done, for you will no longer be the manager of my property.ಆಗ ಅವನು ಆ ಮನೆವಾರ್ತೆ ಯವನನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಇದೇನು ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಳುವದು? ಮನೆವಾರ್ತೆಯ ನಿನ್ನ ಲೆಕ್ಕವನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನೀನು ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ಮನೆವಾರ್ತೆಯವನಾಗಿರುವದಕ್ಕಾಗುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು.

3 And the servant said to himself, What am I to do now that my lord takes away my position? I have not enough strength for working in the fields, and I would be shamed if I made requests for money from people in the streets.ಆಗ ಆ ಮನೆವಾರ್ತೆಯವನು ತನ್ನೊಳಗೆ--ನಾನೇನು ಮಾಡಲಿ? ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಮನೆವಾರ್ತೆಯ ಕೆಲಸದಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಬಿಡು ತ್ತಾನೆ; ನಾನು ಅಗೆಯಲಾರೆನು, ಭಿಕ್ಷೆ ಬೇಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು ನಾಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.

4 I have come to a decision what to do, so that when I am put out of my position they will take me into their houses.ಮನೆವಾರ್ತೆಯ ಕೆಲಸ ದಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ನಾನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾ ದದ್ದನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡನು.

5 And sending for every one who was in debt to his lord he said to the first, What is the amount of your debt to my lord?ಹೀಗೆ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಸಾಲಗಾರರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಮೊದಲನೆಯವನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನಿಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕಾದದ್ದು ಎಷ್ಟು ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು

6 And he said, A hundred measures of oil. And he said, Take your account straight away and put down fifty.ಅವನು--ಒಂದು ನೂರು ಅಳತೆ ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಅಂದನು. ಆಗ ಅವನು--ನಿನ್ನ ಬೆಲೆ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೋ, ಮತ್ತು ಬೇಗ ಕೂತುಕೊಂಡು ಐವತ್ತು ಎಂದು ಬರೆ ಎಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.

7 Then he said to another, What is the amount of your debt? And he said, A hundred measures of grain. And he said to him, Take your account and put down eighty.ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕಾದದ್ದು ಎಷ್ಟು? ಅನ್ನಲು ಅವನು--ಒಂದು ನೂರು ಅಳತೆ ಗೋಧಿ ಅಂದನು. ಆಗ ಅವನು--ನಿನ್ನ ಬೆಲೆ ಪಟ್ಟಿ ಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಎಂಭತ್ತು ಎಂದು ಬರೆ ಅಂದನು.

8 And his lord was pleased with the false servant, because he had been wise; for the sons of this world are wiser in relation to their generation than the sons of light.ಆಗ ಯಜಮಾನನು ಅನ್ಯಾಯಗಾರನಾದ ಆ ಮನೆವಾರ್ತೆಯವನು ಜಾಣತನ ಮಾಡಿದನೆಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೊಗಳಿದನು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಈ ಲೋಕದ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂತತಿಯವರಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಕಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗಿಂತ ಜಾಣರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

9 And I say to you, Make friends for yourselves through the wealth of this life, so that when it comes to an end, you may be taken into the eternal resting-places.ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವದೇ ನಂದರೆ--ಅನ್ಯಾಯದ ಧನದಿಂದ ನಿಮಗೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ; ಅದು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋದಾಗ ಅವರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಿತ್ಯವಾದ ನಿವಾಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು.

10 He who is true in a little, is true in much; he who is false in small things, is false in great.ಯಾವನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವಾದದ್ದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತ ನಾಗಿರುವನೋ ಅವನು ಬಹಳವಾದದ್ದರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಯಾವನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವಾದದ್ದರಲ್ಲಿ ಅನ್ಯಾಯಗಾರನಾಗಿರುವನೋ ಅವನು ಬಹಳವಾದದ್ದ ರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅನ್ಯಾಯಗಾರನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

11 If, then, you have not been true in your use of the wealth of this life, who will give into your care the true wealth?ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅನ್ಯಾಯವಾದ ಧನದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತರಾಗಿರದಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿಜವಾದ ಧನವನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾರು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವರು?

12 And if you have not been true in your care of the property of other people, who will give you that which is yours?ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನದರಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತರಾಗಿರದಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಂತದ್ದನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಯಾರು ಕೊಡುವರು?

13 No man may be a servant to two masters: for he will have hate for the one and love for the other; or he will keep to the one and have no respect for the other. You may not be servants of God and of wealth.ಯಾವ ಸೇವಕನೂ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಯಜಮಾನರನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸಲಾರನು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡಿ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಸುವನು; ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿಕೊಂಡು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುವನು; ನೀವು ದೇವರನ್ನೂ ಧನವನ್ನೂ ಸೇವಿಸಲಾರಿರಿ ಅಂದನು.

14 And the Pharisees, who had a great love of money, hearing these things, were making sport of him.ಆಗ ಲೋಭಿ ಗಳಾದ ಫರಿಸಾಯರು ಸಹ ಇವೆಲ್ಲವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಆತನಿಗೆ ಪರಿಹಾಸ್ಯ ಮಾಡಿದರು.

15 And he said, You take care to seem right in the eyes of men, but God sees your hearts: and those things which are important in the opinion of men, are evil in the eyes of God.ಆಗ ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಮುಂದೆ ನೀತಿವಂತರಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರು ನೀವೇ; ಆದರೆ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವದು ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವೆಂದು ಎಣಿಸಲ್ಪ ಡುತ್ತದೋ ಅದು ದೇವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ.

16 The law and the prophets were till John: but then came the preaching of the kingdom of God, and everyone makes his way into it by force.ನ್ಯಾಯ ಪ್ರಮಾಣವೂ ಪ್ರವಾದನೆಗಳೂ ಯೋಹಾ ನನವರೆಗೆ ಇದ್ದವು; ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಅಂದಿನಿಂದ ಸಾರಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದೆ, ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನು ಬಲವಂತದಿಂದ ಅದರೊಳಗೆ ನುಗ್ಗುತ್ತಾನೆ.

17 But heaven and earth will come to an end before the smallest letter of the law may be dropped out.ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಒಂದು ಗುಡುಸಾದರೂ ಬಿದ್ದು ಹೋಗುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಆಕಾಶವೂ ಭೂಮಿಯೂ ಅಳಿದು ಹೋಗುವದು ಸುಲಭ.

18 Everyone who puts away his wife and takes another, is a false husband: and he who is married to a woman whose husband has put her away, is no true husband to her.ಯಾವನು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬಳನ್ನು ಮದುವೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೋ ಅವನು ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಯಾವನು ಗಂಡ ಬಿಟ್ಟವಳನ್ನು ಮದುವೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೋ ಅವನು ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.

19 Now there was a certain man of great wealth, who was dressed in fair clothing of purple and delicate linen, and was shining and glad every day.ಊದಾಬಣ್ಣದ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನೂ ನಯವಾದ ನಾರು ಮಡಿಯನ್ನೂ ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಪ್ರತಿದಿನವೂ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿ ಯಾಗಿ ಭೋಜನಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಒಬ್ಬಾನೊಬ್ಬ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯ ವಂತನಿದ್ದನು.

20 And a certain poor man, named Lazarus, was stretched out at his door, full of wounds,ಅವನ ಬಾಗಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಲಾಜರನೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಭಿಕ್ಷುಕನು ಬಿದ್ದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು; ಅವನು ಮೈ ತುಂಬಾ ಹುಣ್ಣೆದ್ದವನು.

21 Desiring the broken bits of food which came from the table of the man of wealth; and even the dogs came and put their tongues on his wounds.ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನ ಮೇಜಿ ನಿಂದ ಬೀಳುವ (ರೊಟ್ಟಿ) ತುಂಡುಗಳನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು ಆಶೆಪಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು; ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನಾಯಿಗಳು ಬಂದು ಅವನ ಹುಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಕ್ಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದವು.

22 And in time the poor man came to his end, and angels took him to Abraham's breast. And the man of wealth came to his end, and was put in the earth.ಇದಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆ ಭಿಕ್ಷುಕನು ಸತ್ತನು; ದೂತರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಎದೆಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು; ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನು ಸಹ ಸತ್ತನು; ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೂಣಿ ಟ್ಟರು.

23 And in hell, being in great pain, lifting up his eyes he saw Abraham, far away, and Lazarus on his breast.ಆಗ ಅವನು ಪಾತಾಳದೊಳಗೆ ಯಾತನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ದವನಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆತ್ತಿ ದೂರದಿಂದ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಎದೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಲಾಜರನನೂ ನೋಡಿದನು.

24 And he gave a cry and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus, so that he may put the end of his finger in water and put it on my tongue, for I am cruelly burning in this flame.ಅವನು--ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಅಬ್ರಹಾ ಮನೇ, ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕರುಣೆ ಇಟ್ಟು ಲಾಜರನು ತನ್ನ ತುದಿಬೆರಳನ್ನು ನೀರಲ್ಲಿ ಅದ್ದಿ ನನ್ನ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ತಣ್ಣಗೆ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಾನು ಈ ಉರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾತನೆಪಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು.

25 But Abraham said, Keep in mind, my son, that when you were living, you had your good things, while Lazarus had evil things: but now, he is comforted and you are in pain.ಆದರೆ ಅಬ್ರಹಾ ಮನು--ಮಗನೇ, ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಜೀವಿತಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದಿ; ಅದೇ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಲಾಜರನು ಕೆಟ್ಟವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ತಂದುಕೋ. ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ಅವನು ಆದರಣೆ ಹೊಂದುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ; ನೀನು ಯಾತನೆಪಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದೀ.

26 And in addition, there is a deep division fixed between us and you, so that those who might go from here to you are not able to do so, and no one may come from you to us.ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಡೆಗೆ ದಾಟ ಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವವರು ದಾಟದ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಬರಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವವರು ಬಾರದಂತೆಯೂ ನಮಗೂ ನಿಮಗೂ ನಡುವೆ ಒಂದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಅಗಾಧ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿಯದೆ ಅಂದನು.

27 And he said, Father, it is my request that you will send him to my father's house;ಆಗ ಅವನು--ಅಪ್ಪಾ, ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ನೀನು ಅವನನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಮನೆಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.

28 For I have five brothers; and let him give them an account of these things, so that they may not come to this place of pain.ನನಗೆ ಐದುಮಂದಿ ಸಹೋದರರಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಅವರು ಸಹ ಈ ಯಾತನೆಯ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾರದ ಹಾಗೆ ಇವನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಕೊಡಲಿ ಅಂದನು.

29 But Abraham said, They have Moses and the prophets; let them give ear to what they say.ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮೋಶೆಯೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳೂ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಅವರು ಕೇಳಲಿ ಅಂದನು.

30 And he said, No, father Abraham, but if someone went to them from the dead, their hearts would be changed.ಆಗ ಅವನು--ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ, ತಂದೆ ಯಾದ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನೇ, ಸತ್ತವರೊಳಗಿಂದ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಅವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಅವರು ಮಾನಸಾಂತರ ಪಡುವರು ಅಂದನು.

31 And he said to him, If they will not give attention to Moses and the prophets, they will not be moved even if someone comes back from the dead.ಆದರೆ ಅವನು--ಅವರು ಮೋಶೆಯು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಸತ್ತವರೊಳಗಿಂದ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಎದ್ದರೂ ಅವರು ಒಪ್ಪುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
