7 ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಬೆನ್ಹದದನು ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾ ಗಿರುವಾಗ ಎಲೀಷನು ದಮಸ್ಕಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದನು. ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸ ಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತು.
8 ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ಹಜಾಯೇಲನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಂಡು ಈ ವ್ಯಾಧಿಯಿಂದ ನಾನು ಗುಣವಾಗುವೆನೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ಎಂದು ಅವ ನಿಂದ ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸು ಅಂದನು.
9 ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಹಜಾಯೇಲನು ದಮಸ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಕಲ ಉತ್ತಮ ವಾದವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಲ್ವತ್ತು ಒಂಟೆಗಳು ಹೊರುವಷ್ಟನ್ನು ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನ ಮುಂದೆ ಬಂದು ನಿಂತು--ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾಗಿರುವ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೆನ್ಹದದನು--ಈ ವ್ಯಾಧಿಯಿಂದ ನಾನು ಬದುಕುವೆನೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಅಂದನು.
10 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಲೀಷನು--ಅವನಿಗೆ ನಿಜ ವಾಗಿಯೂ ಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾಗುವಿ ಎಂದು ಹೋಗಿ ಹೇಳು; ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಸಾಯುವನೆಂದು ಕರ್ತನು ನನಗೆ ತೋರಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಅಂದನು.
7 And Elisha came to Damascus; and Ben-hadad the king of Syria was sick; and it was told him, saying, The man of God is come hither.
8 And the king said unto Hazael, Take a present in thine hand, and go, meet the man of God, and inquire of the Lord by him, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?
9 So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels’ burden, and came and stood before him, and said, Thy son Ben-hadad king of Syria hath sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?
10 And Elisha said unto him, Go, say unto him, Thou mayest certainly recover: howbeit the Lord hath shewed me that he shall surely die.

9 ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಹಜಾಯೇಲನು ದಮಸ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಕಲ ಉತ್ತಮ ವಾದವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಲ್ವತ್ತು ಒಂಟೆಗಳು ಹೊರುವಷ್ಟನ್ನು ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನ ಮುಂದೆ ಬಂದು ನಿಂತು--ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾಗಿರುವ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೆನ್ಹದದನು--ಈ ವ್ಯಾಧಿಯಿಂದ ನಾನು ಬದುಕುವೆನೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಅಂದನು.
