Jonah 1 - ASV (Kannada)

1 Now the word of Jehovah came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,ಕರ್ತನ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ಅಮಿತ್ತೈಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋನನಿಗೆ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತು.

2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.ಹೇಗಂದರೆ--ಎದ್ದು ಆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಪಟ್ಟಣವಾದ ನಿನೆವೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಕೂಗು; ಅವರ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನವು ನನ್ನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಗೆ ಮುಟ್ಟಿದೆ ಎಂಬದು.

3 But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of Jehovah; and he went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of Jehovah.ಆದರೆ ಯೋನನು ಕರ್ತನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಿಂದ ತಾರ್ಷೀಷಿಗೆ ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಎದ್ದು ಯೊಪ್ಪಕ್ಕೆ ಇಳಿದು ತಾರ್ಷೀಷಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವ ಹಡಗನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಅದರ ಪ್ರಯಾಣದ ತೆರವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಕರ್ತನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಿಂದ ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ತಾರ್ಷಿಷಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿದನು.

4 But Jehovah sent out a great wind upon the sea, and there was a mighty tempest on the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken.ಆದರೆ ಕರ್ತನು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗಾಳಿಯನ್ನು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು; ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಾಬಿರುಗಾಳಿ ಉಂಟಾಗಿ ಹಡಗು ಒಡೆಯುವ ದಕ್ಕಿತ್ತು.

5 Then the mariners were afraid, and cried every man unto his god; and they cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten it unto them. But Jonah was gone down into the innermost parts of the ship; and he lay, and was fast asleep.ಆಗ ಹಡಗಿನವರು ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ತನ್ನ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಕೂಗಿ ಹಡಗನ್ನು ಹಗುರ ಮಾಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಸಾಮಾನುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು; ಆದರೆ ಯೋನನು ಹಡಗಿನ ಒಳಗೆ ಇಳಿದುಹೋಗಿ ಮಲಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಗಾಢ ನಿದ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ದನು.

6 So the shipmaster came to him, and said unto him, What meanest thou, O sleeper? arise, call upon thy God, if so be that God will think upon us, that we perish not.ಆಗ ಹಡಗಿನ ಯಜಮಾನನು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು--ನಿದ್ರೆಮಾಡುವವನೇ, ನಿನಗೆ ಏನಾಯಿತು? ಎದ್ದು ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕೂಗು; ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ನಾವು ನಾಶವಾಗದ ಹಾಗೆ ದೇವರು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾಪಕ ಮಾಡ್ಯಾನು ಅಂದನು.

7 And they said every one to his fellow, Come, and let us cast lots, that we may know for whose cause this evil is upon us. So they cast lots, and the lot fell upon Jonah.ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವರು ಒಬ್ಬರಿಗೊ ಬ್ಬರು--ಬನ್ನಿ, ಚೀಟುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕೋಣ; ಯಾವನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಈ ಕೇಡು ನಮಗೆ ಬಂತೋ ತಿಳಿಯೋಣ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವರು ಚೀಟು ಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿದಾಗ ಯೋನನ ಮೇಲೆ ಚೀಟು ಬಿತ್ತು.

8 Then said they unto him, Tell us, we pray thee, for whose cause this evil is upon us; what is thine occupation? and whence comest thou? what is thy country? and of what people art thou?ಆಗ ಅವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಯಾವದರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಈ ಕೇಡು ನಮಗೆ ಬಂತು, ನಿನ್ನ ಕೆಲಸವೇನು, ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬಂದಿ,

9 And he said unto them, I am a Hebrew; and I fear Jehovah, the God of heaven, who hath made the sea and the dry land.ನಿನ್ನ ದೇಶ ಯಾವದು, ನೀನು ಯಾವ ಜನಾಂಗದವನು, ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸು ಅಂದರು. ಅವನು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನಾನು ಇಬ್ರಿಯನು; ಸಮುದ್ರವನ್ನೂ ಒಣಗಿದ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನೂ ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿದ ಪರ ಲೋಕದ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡುವವ ನಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

10 Then were the men exceedingly afraid, and said unto him, What is this that thou hast done? For the men knew that he was fleeing from the presence of Jehovah, because he had told them.ಆಗ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಬಹಳ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು--ಇದನ್ನು ಯಾಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀ ಎಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರು, ಕರ್ತನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಿಂದ ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾನೆಂದು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿತ್ತು; ಅವನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನು.

11 Then said they unto him, What shall we do unto thee, that the sea may be calm unto us? for the sea grew more and more tempestuous.ಆಗ ಅವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಸಮುದ್ರವು ನಮಗೆ ಶಾಂತವಾಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು? ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಸಮುದ್ರವು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಉಬ್ಬುತ್ತಾ ಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ ಅಂದರು.

12 And he said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall the sea be calm unto you: for I know that for my sake this great tempest is upon you.ಅವನು ಅವ ರಿಗೆ--ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿರಿ, ಆಗ ಸಮುದ್ರವು ನಿಮಗೆ ಶಾಂತವಾಗುವದು; ನನ್ನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಈ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಬಿರುಗಾಳಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂತೆಂದು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು ಅಂದನು.

13 Nevertheless the men rowed hard to get them back to the land; but they could not: for the sea grew more and more tempestuous against them.ಆದರೂ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ದಡಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಬಲವಾಗಿ ಹುಟ್ಟು ಹಾಕಿದರು; ಆದರೆ ಅವರಿಂದಾಗದೆ ಹೋಯಿತು. ಸಮುದ್ರವು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಉಬ್ಬುತ್ತಾ ಬಂತು.

14 Wherefore they cried unto Jehovah, and said, We beseech thee, O Jehovah, we beseech thee, let us not perish for this man's life, and lay not upon us innocent blood; for thou, O Jehovah, hast done as it pleased thee.ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಕೂಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ಓ ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನಾವು ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಜೀವದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ನಾಶವಾಗದಿರಲಿ; ಅಪರಾಧವಿಲ್ಲದ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊರಿಸಬೇಡ; ಓ ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಚಿತ್ತಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀ ಅಂದರು.

15 So they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea; and the sea ceased from its raging.ಆಗ ಅವರು ಯೋನನನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದರು; ಆಗ ಸಮುದ್ರವು ತನ್ನ ಉಗ್ರವನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು.

16 Then the men feared Jehovah exceedingly; and they offered a sacrifice unto Jehovah, and made vows.ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಬಹಳ ವಾಗಿ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಬಲಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.

17 And Jehovah prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah; and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.ಆದರೆ ಕರ್ತನು ಯೋನನನ್ನು ನುಂಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ವಿಾನನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದ್ದನು; ಯೋನನು ಆ ವಿಾನಿನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರು ಹಗಲು ಮೂರು ರಾತ್ರಿಯು ಇದ್ದನು.
