1 Now it came about in the seventh month that Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the king's seed, having with him ten men, came to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, in Mizpah; and they had a meal together in Mizpah.ಏಳನೇ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆದದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ಅರಸನ ಸಂತಾನದವನೂ ಅರಸನ ಪ್ರಧಾನರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನೂ ಆದಂಥ ಎಲೀಷಾಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯರೂ ಅಹೀಕಾ ಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಮಿಚ್ಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರು; ಅವರು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಮಿಚ್ಪದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಊಟಮಾಡಿದರು.

2 Then Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, and the ten men who were with him, got up, and attacking Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, with the sword, put to death him whom the king of Babylon had made ruler over the land.ಆಗ ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಹತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ಎದ್ದು ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನು ದೇಶದ ಮೇಲೆ ನೇಮಿಸಿದ್ದ ಶಾಫಾನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನನ್ನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆದು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿ ದರು.

3 And Ishmael put to death all the Jews who were with him, even with Gedaliah, at Mizpah, and the Chaldaean men of war.ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಿಚ್ಪದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ ಕಸ್ದೀಯರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಯುದ್ಧಸ್ಥರನ್ನೂ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದನು.

4 Now on the second day after he had put Gedaliah to death, when no one had knowledge of it,ಅವನು ಗೆದಲ್ಯನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದ ಎರಡನೇ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿಯದಿರುವಾಗ

5 Some people came from Shechem, from Shiloh and Samaria, eighty men, with the hair of their faces cut off and their clothing out of order, and with cuts on their bodies, and in their hands meal offerings and perfumes which they were taking to the house of the Lord.ಶೆಕೆಮ್‌ನಿಂದಲೂ ಶಿಲೋವಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಸಮಾರ್ಯ ದಿಂದಲೂ ಎಂಭತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಗಡ್ಡವನ್ನು ಕ್ಷೌರಮಾಡಿದವರಾಗಿಯೂ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಕೊಂಡವ ರಾಗಿಯೂ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ದುಕೊಂಡವರಾಗಿಯೂ ಕರ್ತನ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ತರುವದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ಧೂಪವನ್ನೂ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದರು.

6 And Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, went out from Mizpah with the purpose of meeting them, weeping on his way: and it came about that when he was face to face with them he said, Come to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam.ಆಗ ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಮಿಚ್ಪದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು, ಅಳುತ್ತಲೇ ಅವರ ಎದುರಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು; ಅವರನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಂಡ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ--ಅಹೀಕಾ ಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬನ್ನಿ ಅಂದನು.

7 And when they came inside the town, Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, and the men who were with him, put them to death and put their bodies into a deep hole.ಆಗ ಆದದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ಅವರು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಮಧ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನೂ ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಮನುಷ್ಯರೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಕುಣಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಹಾಕಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು.

8 But there were ten men among them who said to Ishmael, Do not put us to death, for we have secret stores, in the country, of grain and oil and honey. So he did not put them to death with their countrymen.ಆದರೆ--ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಬೇಡ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಮಗೆ ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ, ಗೋಧಿ, ಜವೆಗೋಧಿ, ಎಣ್ಣೆ, ಜೇನು, ಇರುವ ನಿಕ್ಷೇಪಗ ಳುಂಟೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ ಹತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರು; ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಹಿಂತೆಗೆದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅವರ ಸಹೋದರರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಂದು ಹಾಕಲಿಲ್ಲ.

9 Now the hole into which Ishmael had put the dead bodies of the men whom he had put to death, was the great hole which Asa the king had made for fear of Baasha, king of Israel: and Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, made it full of the bodies of those who had been put to death.ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಗೆದಲ್ಯನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಕೊಂದು ಹಾಕಿದ ಮನುಷ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರ ಹೆಣಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿದ ಕುಣಿಯು ಯಾವದಂದರೆ--ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಸನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಬಾಷನ ಭಯದಿಂದ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇ; ಇದನ್ನು ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದ ವರಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿಸಿದನು.

10 Then Ishmael took away as prisoners all the rest of the people who were in Mizpah, the king's daughters and all the people still in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan, the captain of the armed men, had put under the care of Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam: Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, took them away prisoners with the purpose of going over to the children of Ammon.ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಮಿಚ್ಪದ ಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಉಳಿದವರನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅರಸನ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯರನ್ನೂ ಕಾವಲಿನವರ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ನೆಬೂಜರದಾನನು ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟ ಉಳಿದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಒಯ್ದನು; ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಒಯ್ದು ಅಮ್ಮೋನ್ಯನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಬಳಿಗೆ ದಾಟಿ ಹೋಗು ವದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟನು.

11 But when Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the armed forces who were with him, had news of all the evil which Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, had done,ಆದರೆ ಕಾರೇಹನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋಹಾನಾ ನನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲರೂ ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದ ಕೇಡನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೇಳಿದ ಮೇಲೆ

12 They took their men and went out to make war on Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, and they came face to face with him by the great waters in Gibeon.ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕರಕೊಂಡು, ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನ ಸಂಗಡ ಯುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಗಿಬ್ಯೋನಿ ನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದೊಡ್ಡ ನೀರುಗಳ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಂಡರು.

13 Now when all the people who were with Ishmael saw Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces with him, then they were glad.ಆಗ ಆದದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಕಾರೇಹನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋಹಾನಾನನನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿ ಪತಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟರು.

14 And all the people whom Ishmael had taken away prisoners from Mizpah, turning round, came back and went to Johanan, the son of Kareah.ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಮಿಚ್ಪದಿಂದ ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ತಂದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಕೂಡಿ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಕಾರೇಹನ ಮಗ ನಾದ ಯೋಹಾನಾನನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.

15 But Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, got away from Johanan, with eight men, and went to the children of Ammon.ಆದರೆ ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಎಂಟು ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ಯೋಹಾನಾನನಿಗೆ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಅಮ್ಮೋನ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು.

16 Then Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, took all the rest of the people whom Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, had made prisoners, after he had put to death Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the people from Mizpah, that is, the men of war and the women and the children and the unsexed servants, whom he had taken back with him from Gibeon:ಆಗ ಕಾರೇಹನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋಹಾನಾನನೂ ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲರೂ ತಾನು ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನ ಕೈಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಅವನು ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದ ತರುವಾಯ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಉಳಿದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಅಂದರೆ ಗಿಬ್ಯೋನಿ ನಿಂದ ತಾನು ತಿರುಗಿ ತಂದಿದ್ದ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠರಾದ ಯುದ್ಧದ ಗಂಡಸರನ್ನೂ ಹೆಂಗಸರನ್ನೂ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಕಂಚುಕಿ ಯರನ್ನೂ ಮಿಚ್ಪದಿಂದ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಹೊರಟು,

17 And they went and were living in the resting-place of Chimham, which is near Beth-lehem on the way into Egypt,ಐಗು ಪ್ತಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕಿಮ್ಹಾಮನ ಛತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಸ್ದೀಯರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ವಾಸ ಮಾಡಿದರು.

18 Because of the Chaldaeans: for they were in fear of them because Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, had put to death Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, whom the king of Babylon had made ruler over the land.ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನು ದೇಶದ ಮೇಲೆ ನೇಮಿಸಿದ್ದ ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನನ್ನು ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದ್ದ ರಿಂದಲೇ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟರು.
