ಅವನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಬಂದ ಕಾರಣವು ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಿತೇ? ಈಗ ನಾನು ಪಾರಸಿಯ ಪ್ರಭುವಿನ ಸಂಗಡ (ಕಾದಾಡಲು) ತಿರುಗಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ; ನಾನು ಹೋದ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಗೋ, ಗ್ರೀಕ್‌ ಪ್ರಭುವು ಬರುವನು.

he, Knowest הֲיָדַ֙עְתָּ֙ yādaʿ ya-DA
thou wherefore לָמָּה mâ ma
I come בָּ֣אתִי bôʾ boh
unto אֵלֶ֔יךָ ʾēl ale
thee? and now וְעַתָּ֣ה ʿattâ ah-TA
will I return אָשׁ֔וּב šûb shoov
to fight לְהִלָּחֵ֖ם lāḥam la-HAHM
with עִם ʿim eem
the prince שַׂ֣ר śar sahr
of Persia: פָּרָ֑ס pāras pa-RAHS
and when I וַאֲנִ֣י ʾănî uh-NEE
am gone forth, יוֹצֵ֔א yāṣāʾ ya-TSA
lo, וְהִנֵּ֥ה hinnē hee-NAY
the prince שַׂר śar sahr
of Grecia יָוָ֖ן yāwān ya-VAHN
shall come. בָּֽא׃ bôʾ boh
